Sparky Marky Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Bit off topic MS Dhoni the Indian cricket player has just signed a 42 million USD deal with a Indian marketing company for two years. This just shows how big India is when it comes to big money deals. If the Indians do buy our club could this happen to us in a couple of years , big money from prospective sponsors. completely off topic and has no bearing whatsoever on the Rovers.

unluckymorton Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 So they should be. We have a friendly at PNE next week and at one time I would never dreamed of missing this, but there's little to draw me there at the moment. Usually there are at least a couple of signings to look forward to watching. This squad is terribly stale. With a strong finish to the season last season and plenty of positives to take from that who says we cant carry on where we left off? Our squad has had a good break with very few being involved in the world cup so I don't see what the issue is. I appreciate that we haven't made the couple of signings we've needed to but as a whole we showed what we were capable of and there's no reason why the steady progress already made can not continue. If the take over goes through, don't be expecting a Jack Walker type open check book and everything to be rosey. Whoever takes over will be doing so for their own good and will not be willing to commit huge amounts of money for transfers when there is no sure way of making the money back, with profit.
ada2020 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 God knows we need a takeover but I'm at a complete loss as to why anyone thinks one is in any way imminent. From what I can see no party or parties have ever come close enough to agreement on the price to even be allowed access to the books, let alone be close to concluding a sale. Any party entering into negotiations with Rovers has to sign a non disclosure agreement so it's hardly surprising that there appears to be "a wall of silence" at times. It's not necessarily a sign that any deal is reaching a conclusion. Fair enough, but we have Shah claiming in early June that a bid has been faxed in and that due dilligance has been entered and that he would like the deal to be concluded by mid July, then everything goes quite the club seemed to bring down the shutters on everything but we have no concrete evidence to the contrary that things are not moving along. (Do we?, so many pages of crap on this thread now its hard to remember what has or has not happened.) While I do not claim to have any inside knowledge of what is happening I would rather look at the takeover with a positive view. No we dont know if it will be completed anytime soon, but there was talk of this initially, before Shah and his consortium were forced to sign the NDA. For me its not the smartest business move to lock down all trading if this deal was not going to go through. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just prefere to think it might go through sooner rather than later.

Shah might well have faxed a bid in at some point but I'm not aware that it was either acceptable or that the point of due dilligence taking place has been reached.
den Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 With a strong finish to the season last season and plenty of positives to take from that who says we cant carry on where we left off? Me. You can't stand still. Squads need refreshing because they go stale. Quote me later if you like, but the current squad would do well to stay in this league. Tenth again, with this squad, is impossible in my opinion.
Manchester Blue Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Mr Vintage, where have you heard the Rumble? Well the team is in a 6 seater jet ready for bizz so i suspect something is happening. It is the only way 2 win.

Not strictly related to takeovers but I have to agree. Strikers: Roberts Kalinic Central Midfielders: Dunn Nzonzi Andrews Grella MGP Major problems ahead without a Premiership quality striker and indeed midfielder coming in imo.

He did say to the LET that this was the case, ofcourse he may have been talking utter crap I dont know for sure. Just stating what I (think I) remember Sorry just to clarify, he said he hoped to enter due dilligance. This crap seems to have gone on for ever........
RevidgeBlue Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 He did say to the LET that this was the case, ofcourse he may have been talking utter crap I dont know for sure. Just stating what I (think I) remember I don't specifically recall the LT article you're thinking of but I think you may be mistaken.

RevidgeBlue, I think your right, just dug the article out. My bad. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburnrovers/news/8215605.Indian_businessman__I_want_to_buy_Blackburn_Rovers/

Iceman Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 "I don’t want to go into the details but we know it would cost to buy the club and we would hope to strengthen the squad a lot if it was to happen. "We do have money for the club." It could take six weeks for any deal to go through, he said. "Hopefully no longer,” he added.
Veevs Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 How good are Roschilds? Anyone know about their previous business take-over set-ups? Surely they would only approach people with money if they are such a big company with a reputation to keep? The Shnizzle on tha doggy fizzle agent iz just an agent, makin a qwik buck by being a middle man, e'z on da way to da top of da tree..innit! lol literally one of the most renown in the profession.. exceptional but generally business minded (as in for their own profit) thankfully they are on our side

modes98 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 This deal will never go through.. And for good reasons.. BRFC Forever!! Would you like to elaborate on your reasoning for both comments? You must have an in depth knowledge of what Mr Shah's consortium has to offer to the club then to make such a statement.... The Trust has not offered anything but a safety net for Rovers for years, granted thats not an awful thing. The club is managing to self support itself, there is little harm in another group taking over, as long as a strict wage and transfer policy is kept in place. There needs to some dead wood removed and I include the likes of Andrews, Zura and Brown in that, then that would allow some movement on wages.

chaddyrovers Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 http://www.rothschild.com/investmentbanking/ibcred.asp?id=ib-manda ... may help, check out the league tables and the mergers and acquisitions work. When looking at the companies they have help and work with. You can tell that they are excellent at what they do!!! You should look at League tables and Recent Transactions they been involved in!
T4E Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Me. You can't stand still. Squads need refreshing because they go stale. Quote me later if you like, but the current squad would do well to stay in this league. Tenth again, with this squad, is impossible in my opinion. Tenth is not impossible, because there are some other very very average squads in this league, and we have one of the best managers around. Your point though is totally valid - tenth would be unlikely, and I'd go as far as to say bottom 3 would be more likely.
chaddyrovers Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 It is rumbling that something will come out in the next week. The club are worried about the season ticket sales, lack of signings and how close we are to the start of the season. Im hope something does happen in the next week or so. I think it will be that the club has been sold to Mr Shah group.
unsall Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Im hope something does happen in the next week or so. I think it will be that the club has been sold to Mr Shah group. Someone who works at the club says that Brockhall is the big issue!!!
chaddyrovers Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Someone who works at the club says that Brockhall is the big issue!!! Why is a brockhall a big issue???
Grez Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Someone who works at the club says that Brockhall is the big issue!!! Is it the groundsman? its a big place to mow!
beerwins Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Why is a brockhall a big issue??? Maybe they want to sell big issue at Brockhall
67splitscreen Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Was Brockhall not approved under some special dispensation, limiting it's future usage.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 It's probably not as deep as that, maybe they just don't agree with the valuation or have plans for it which disagree with those set out by the Trust/Jack.
