Bobby G Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Someone's mate works with JW, and he says there is an announcement on Wednesday and JW has given him the list of 10 targets with Bellamy one of them. Oh and the guy is a baker...

BPF Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 A friend of mine has heard that the bid was withdrawn this morning which oddly ties in with something that was also mentioned on that site. The only way we'll find out, is to wait and see. I had a dream last night that I'd just finished celebrating New Years Eve 2012. The potential takeover thread was still open and there was still Saurin Shah debate. Scary. I bet on Wednesday we hear, hear nothing that is.

Actually how can a bid that hasn't been officially made, be withdrawn? With this in mind, I might withdraw my bid for Microsoft.
1864roverite Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 To make things even more mystical, I have been out this evening and shared a drink in Leyland with a member of a very local clubs backroom staff and according to them the rumours floating around are that the takeover by the so called Indian consortium has come to a stand still and that is a second group that has gone further down the negotiation line. The person in question is very close to Ewood staff having previously worked with BRFC so I have no doubt about their word. Wouldnt go as far as saying who the second group may be but indicated that there was an English connection which made me think back to the guy who was linked to us and then Sheff Wed however I couldnt get any more details or information. The sad thing is, is that this person makes it clear that Rovers are a very attractive option for anyone wanting to own a Premiership club because of the business footing the club finds itself on. Could be an interesting week.
JAL Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 i think we will know by the end of this week, but i dont think it will be good news! hopefully it will but just cant see it myself Good news would surely be an end to all this nonsense and Rovers carry on. Made my mind up ...certainly dont ever want to see an overseas owner of Rovers, unless that is, they are ex-local dyed in the wool blue and whites who've moved away to make or keep their fortune. Arte et labore not arte et Lahor
Guest Kamy100 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 One of Mr Shah's advisers has said that significant progress was made over the last few says, it seems that they have may now have the framework for a deal. This does not mean of course that this is a done deal, it just means that they now have the basis for a deal. This would be suggest to me that now the decision is with the Indian Group as to whether it is viable for them to or not. Exciting and Scary at the sametime. Exciting because this might open up new opportunities for the club but Scary because nothing is known about who are the people behind this. I can quite confidently say that Mr Shah is just the front man for this, the backing/finance is will be coming from other people, imperative to find out their backgrounds/reasons for wanting to purchase a football club. Mr Shah's uncle is wealthy and could be involved, however even he has some skeletons in the cupboard.

BPF Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 People getting excited by what are nothing more than rumours and largely repeated idle gossip. Wake me up in two weeks.

Guest Kamy100 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Talked to Mr Shah himself about 3 weeks ago, then passed onto his team of advisers. There are 4 of them. Over the last 2 weeks each of them have told me stuff, often one has contradicted the other. One of them has told me the above. Hopefully when the NDA is lifted I can get to interview Mr Shah so as to get some answers to the many questions about this potential deal.

Sorry kamy but it is becoming increasingly obvious that these guys are a bunch of tyrekickers. The front man is supposedly Shah yet no-one has heard of him back in India. I don't know whether to get more excited about that or Dan Williams who I am still not completely convinced wasn't the fictitious creation of a spotty 15 year old computer genius Burnley fan.

Sky sports article has a quote from Sam "It will be very close to a decision one way or another. They've had all the information and all the due diligence done that they need to do" He pretty says what you said above - basically they now need to simply decide Yes or No......Looks like it could be close! Grella out in the next few days, Jo in......Takeover & then someone like Ireland & Bellamy in....we can dream cant we?!

philipl Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 I suggest you all forget about the takeover having any impact on who we sign this window.
Plastic Head Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 This thread is just annoying me now. For a start, should it not be entitled "Rovers may have been sold"?
Iceman Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 I suggest you all forget about the takeover having any impact on who we sign this window. really Philip, and why is that? If it happens this week, and whoever buys the club gives Sam money to spend, do you actually think he will not spend it? We might only sign a striker before the 1st game, but the transfer window only closes on the 1st September. im sure, that would give Sam the opportunity perhaps to bring in another striker, and that creative midfielder.
philipl Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Why do you think it has been delayed this long Icers? Why do you think it is that they only got to being told what they have to put down to achieve a deal last Thursday? (If Kamy is correct) Why do you think a deal which is going to involve the Indians in at least £70m of obligations involves the totally unheard of Mr Saurin Shah? (£70m made up of the mythical £25m asking price, £20m of debt and my guess of at least £25m of "investment"- otherwise why bother buying the club???- and that £25m needs to feed transfer fees, wages and whatever they plan to do on the marketing front so perhaps a one-off shot of £10m in transfer fees and thereafter we are up the proverbial creek without the Trust to save us) Do you think people who can command £70m on a totally speculative, can easily lose the lot, punt of this size normally leave an internet trail that is even more low key than your's? Is it possible they have insufficient funds and a serious problem with fit and proper? Is it possible that they never had any intention of shelling out transfer funds this summer which is perhaps the most benign explanation for the delay?
nicko Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Kamy's level of intelligence from the Shah people is very good...and makes this thread extremely relevant despite the impatient moaners. It's interesting that the Indians are still 'trying' and moving forward - in their opinion. It also revealing that they want to let the fans know that they are for real. For those who seemingly enjoy running down any interested parties it is perhaps a good time to point out that the chairman is taking this seriously enough to have admitted recently that there were TWO transfer lists - one for the current impoverished state and the other if there is money coming in. There HAS to be a deadline to this in terms of influencing the transfer strategy and I think that has passed as the club are now making serious efforts to sign players. However that does not take awya from the fact that a good takeover would be ideal for all concerned. Well done, Kamy, once again.

I understand all of that, but all im saying is that whatever happens, if it happens before the transfer window shuts, then Sam might get a bit more to spend. It is unlikely, but you cannot rule out that situation. Either way, we delaying basically everything, in the hope that something will give before the window shuts. I must admit, that this Shah guy is a mystery and its not what we want, BUT we also dont know who are all behind him. For all we know, it could be the Ambani brothers
