Iceman Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Philip, its exactly what i was thinking when i read it. He wants it completed by September, meaning we wont spend any of his money on new players. Unless of course, he offers money up front, in a bid to gain control of the club.

Craigman Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Does seem very odd. Maybe Rovers planted it to try and hurry the Shah group to conclude a deal ? Or maybe he was in the Shah group, but decided to go alone ?
PAFELL Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 People are so black and white on here, it is ridiculous. You keep your options open until the ink goes onto the paper in anything like this. The Guardian article has to be suspect- they spelt the guy's name incorrectly. The timing of it is either awful (completely screwing up this transfer window), or a calculated risk on someone's part. And some people come over as patheticly negative. Maybe you want the trust to keep hold of Rovers no matter what. Sorry, but that is NOT going to happen. One day they will sell the club to somebody. Until we know if it is true or not we cannot dismiss it. How can Rovers transfer window be screwed up more than it is now. The paper may have spelt his name wrong, but that is papers for you. It is has been rumoured for sometime that there was a second person interested in taking over the club. Surely there must be something about Shah and his group, for the club to still be talking to them. If this Syed guy is serious, then the club would be mad to not listen to his plans. I said yesterday, that perhaps the club has moved on from Shah. Thats obviously not the case as Kamy pointed out. They must have the money also, especailly with the new ownership rules coming in.
Bobby G Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 A little more detail from the DT. But overall, not much more than what a few searches could tell you in those articles.
philipl Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Not negative, realistic. A long time ago I posted two key mantras: To be serious, Rovers are a £200m play by any incoming owner- less than that is a recipe for disaster looking beyond the next two seasons. There would be people with that sort of money who will be frustrated when they fail to buy Liverpool. Now look what's happened, as I posted two days ago, Huang has moved smartly and decisively by apparently squaring away Liverpool's want-out bankers so the gruesome twosome at Anfield are squeezed where it matters. The Telegraph article says: "Tellingly, Syed considered seeking a deal for more celebrated clubs and has looked at Liverpool". One negative on the Telegraph article- they spell his name the same way as the Guardian does which is different from what appears on the WGA web site. The Telegraph also correctly positions the Rovers: The promise of such a wealthy new owner would transform Blackburn's prospects and lift them from the annual struggle to remain in the upper half of the Premier League and to balance the books.
daveoftherovers Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I very much like what I've read in The Telegraph article, almost too good to be true to be honest. If it's on then I am very much on for this kind of approach. Thanks to the artcule poster and Philipl, I couldn't agree more with your post. Looking better this morning as a result! Come on Rovers, get it done and give BS the backing he needs.
Simon Says Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 More Information from Daily Telegraph Article written by Paul Kelso. Highly respected journo. Known to have his finger on the pulse.

Syed
daveoftherovers Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Overall summary of our fine club by The Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2010/aug/03/premier-league-preview-blackburn-rovers Which I couldn't help myself and waded into...
Guest Kamy100 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I have e-mailed Ahsan Ali's media consultant Julia Thiem and asked if she is able to comment on this morning's reports regarding Mr Ali purchasing Rovers. Lets see what she comes back with or even if she replies.
otto man Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 well you dont spell Philip with an l at the end its a valid point you make Philip, but i dont see how the incorrect spelling of his name, has any bearing on the actual story, and whether its true or not. Syed Could just be the reason there appears to be no movement at the moment! Any further info on this Niko
Majiball Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I cannot support the new bid. Mr Syed has connections to the old east india company. I just cannot forgive them for the way they persecuted Captain Jack sparrow.
Ricky Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 At least this guy does seem to have money. Loadsamoney!!!!
BuckyRover Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I can't support him either. His homosexual affair has torn his family apart.
dave birch Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 More from WGA Cubbie station is huge, and holds back a lot of water that would normally flow through the Murray/Darling system to the sea in South Australia. It's a very contentious issue here. If he buys it, it's going to cost. I note that he's looking to buy into a place called Waterbrook. This place is 5 mins from me, upmarket over 55's development, expensive and has a reasonable turnover of inhabitants, some of whom don't care for the charges. If he's in this league, then he's got serious money and could be just the man for the Rovers. I have one reservation though, I'm sure I read that WGA was a vehicle that takes on board well run companies and develops them. For what? It's obviously to make money, but how? Taking to a higher level, then selling, or asset stripping?
BPF Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 If there is any truth in this article whatsoever then everything needs to be done to ensure that this happens. Sounds too good to be true though.
imy9 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 BRFCS News Exclusive - Bid Confirmed get in there my son! A man with serious money has a long term plan wants to invest and more importantly has bid. well done Kamy!
dave birch Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Well done Kamy. Just hope and pray that there is well meaning behind the bid.
Iceman Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 This sounds a bit more promising, than the shah bid. Also, there is more about Syed and his company than that of Shah. Syed seems to be well known, and he seems like a smart guy. Here's hoping it happens. If there is any truth in this article whatsoever then everything needs to be done to ensure that this happens. Sounds too good to be true though. Its true, Kamy has confirmed that they are interested The bad thing about this is, we still dont know anything about Saurin Shah.
ada2020 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Cue andy cryer to rubbish it all :-) Great news, good job kamy.
