1. Like I said, he doesn't have much option in our position. With a wider cheque book, I doubt we'd have seen much of our young stars.

2. Because Sam is a notorious wheeler-dealer, who only wants a few more years in the PL. I doubt he's thinking of much long term when it comes to Rovers.

3. Sam has bought a lot of dross, over the years, to find his gems. You're telling me neither of those teams had young players who could have stepped in?

So why did he buy Nzonzi/Linganzi/Kalinic then??? Im sure we could have bought a much older player for similar fees.. Im not saying that you're wrong but I find it sad that you're choosing to take this point of view after last season when Sam brought many of the younger players into first team action. Maybe his view on youth has changed since his Bolton days?? All we can go on is what he has done at Rovers so far, which up until this point has involved blooding our promising younger players into the first team squad. Regardless of any opinions, that has actually happened, and he deserves credit for that.

'I doubt he's thinking of much long term when it comes to Rovers' How you can say that after last season is a joke. From the sound of it you had made your mind up about Sam along time ago, i'd personally say that Sam has done brought in more youth into our side then any of our other recent managers and although im sure you can point to injuries playing a part, I dont think anyone saw Jones stepping up as he did against Chelsea or Hanley against Villa. We had other players we could have brought in but Sam choose not to.

Guest Kamy100

Kamy do you work for the LT?

Nope.

Thanks to all for the nice comments.

As for the "teens" Nicko is welcome to them, he is the master at all of this stuff.

I really do have a good feeling about this bid, and I didn't with any of the others.

Agree with that. There's genuine excitement surrounding this one. Here's hoping it comes good!

Sam by his own omission said that he did not think Jones was ready. He gave in to his staff who said he was, I'll wager Sam thought what the hell we'll most likely lose anyway.

We'll all get to see how much he endorses youth if this takerover goes through, my monies not on him signing younger players, but older players as his track record points to

Nobodies doing anything more than pointing out angles, and everyone is appreciative of his job from the perspective of league position. But he doesn't help his own cause and if he was so behind youth he would have stomped his feet when we choose the cheap option last summer and would be pushing for more money to be pumped into the youth as we have one of the smallest budgets in the academy league. But he's not is he, he's demanding more on the wage budget.

Complete opposite.

If it was going to happen it would have been done and dusted by now.

So we've heard about this gentleman TODAY, and you're saying it would have been done and dusted by now?

Do you think taking over our great football club should be as simple an issue as buying a bag of sweets?

I can sort of see where you're going if referring to the Saurin Shah business but your post makes absolutely no sense when referring to the bid that's just made the news today.

For three years these takeovers have been going on and whats happened ...just more talk, more chat, with no change.

You win the award for most cynical man in the world, congrats. I'm not getting excited, we have been here before but make no mistake at some point we are going to get sold as our owners want rid. Lets just hope it happens now while we are still in the Premier league and a fairly attractive proposition.

Well at least we know there is an offer in now and who from. Baby Steps!

The takeover has to be right for the club and meet some pretty strict criteria I think. We want to make sure he is in it for the right reasons.

You know the saying - You don’t put on a condom unless you are going to hump?

I wouldn’t imagine for a minute that this is all just a come one. If it were it would be a mighty expensive one.

Maybe it is just the typical quarter empty (and I have been royally cheated out of another third by that unscrupulous bar tender) mentality that gets us through the hard times.

Rosy glasses on and dream.

I found this in the Guardian very unbiased .

Another day, another exciting story about a man in a fancy suit offering an inconceivable sum of money to take over a football club and propel it to new heights of success and popularity/run it into the ground and make himself a widely despised berk. Actually today we have two such stories – the first one involves Liverpool, as is mandatory, and relates to the attempt by a Syrian tycoon known as Yahya Kirdi to either gazump Kenny Huang, who earlier this week declared his intention to buy the club, or drive up the price that Huang has to pay so that Duke and Duke from Trading Places can walk away from Anfield with a profit, after all.

The second pertains to Blackeye Rovers, who may just have found a new Jack Walker, though the name he actually goes by is Ahasan Ali Syed. He's a 36-year-old Indian who, as the head of the Western Gulf Advisory investment company, probably has more money in the glove compartment of his custom-made car than the Fiver would be able to accumulate if it lived to the ripe old age of 666, and for some reason still unclear to your plebian Fiver, he wants to plough a goodly portion of that wealth into Ewood Park.

In the absence of any public utterances from Ali Syed, reports have taken to claiming that he's willing to clear Rovers' £20m debt and chuck some £300m at the club over the coming years in a bid to re-establish it as a force. Or at least to keep Sam Allardyce in Bluetooth headsets.

Blackeye are good at this. Back in the 90s, after Walker's arrival, some jealous rival fans whined about them "buying the league" - (as opposed to growing it alongside runners beans and prize parsnips on an inner-city allotment like Manchester United and Liverpool always did) - but it often escapes attention that their title-winning team featured several modest recruits (Tony Gale, Colin Hendry, Henning Berg ...) and that all the players whom they bought for big bucks – Alan Shearer, Chris Sutton, Graeme Le Saux and so on – were subsequently sold on for even bigger fees. How much did Chelsea get back for Andriy Shevchenko? And hands up who thinks Manchester City will get more than £22m for Joleon Lescott? Or £19m for Jo?

 cant wait ...just to see even more of those blue empty seats at Ewood. :angry2:

Errr.......... it was a joke.

One thing's for sure, that's probably all we'll have to look forward to if a takeover doesn't happen, and we wouldn't even get both of them!

On the flip side if the takeover went through and this guy actually had 300m he could afford to lose to invest in the playing side of things it would be beyond everyone's wildest dreams frankly.

Let's just go to bed dreaming for at least one night eh?

yeah, all jack's kids etc...on the real board of directors.....they won't want to part with it I reckon.....they must love all the glamour and prestige associated with premier league football and indeed a deep rooted relationship with the rovers through Jack....maybe there is a personal element...or is it just down to the moneymen....I dunno.

nice article...

Got to be on the cynical side with Jal....It can't happen and if it does we'll be down and out within 3years...what happens when he's had enough and Leavers haven't had their bill settled for't pasties... :angry2:

We'd be in precisely the same position as we've been for the last few years with the current owners?
