[Archived] Rovers Might Have Been Sold?

I will check on the way home and see if the late edition has anything new, it could be in tomorrow morning's edition.

I can say that they are trying to complete the deal before the end of the transfer window so that some funds can be made available. It is important to point out that we are nor looking at Man City level investment in terms of transfers but it will allow to compete in the transfer Market and also a focus on bringing young players through the youth system at the same time.

Finally I think that John Williams job is safe should he want to stay on, Mr Ali's group believe that Rovers are in the top three best run clubs in the premier league.

I would love to say more can't do so because it would betray confidences.

Hopefully this will allow you to build a really good working relationship between this site and the potential new owners for the future, which is something we don't have now.

Its just a little shame that the squad cant be strengthened ever so slightly during August.

It is and it isn't, it is a shame we badly need a striker but if we signed someone panicky now and we had say £10m to spend on one in January we probably would have an extra wage for someone who is unlikly to play so although we have more money we are being wasteful, if the club keeps its well run status with money the way we have managed without we should be pushing teams like Everton/Villa easily.

I just hope there are no plans to move us from our spiritual home at Ewood and into some souless concrete bowl on the edge of a motorway!

:D ... ....

Theres no real commercial sense for leaving, its only 16 years old in its current form and theres room for expansion on the Riverside, we would only need to expand if we put our ticket prices up and we still sold out every week.

We do have the fans forum - which if these new owners take over will be exactly the same as what we have now.

I was thinking more about the relationship between BRFCS and the club.

Yeah if anyone can summarise or scan what this 4-page special says it would be much appreciated. Just repeating what others are saying I know but more likely to happen if a number of us want to see it but can't. Cheers!

I can scan it to the computer but if anyone can tell me how to post the scanned pictures on to here i would definitely do it for you. It is in the LET isn't it tomorrow

i would hate it if the club had a relationship with this board

there are plenty of good people here, but there are also plenty who let it down

I have an awful feeling the price of season tickets will rocket for next season. So make the most of your cheapies this year.

I may be in a minority here, but as long as the direct debit scheme was still available, I'd far rather pay double what I do now (say 60p.m as opposed to 30p.m. now) to watch some decent players and not potentially the likes of Benjani.

Even if that did happen, gate revenue would still be relatively insignificant compared to total turnover.

Let's hope the takeover happens before the transfer window closes. I'm very pleased that Mr Ahsan Ali Syed is the closer to buy our Club. He's shown that he wants to buy the club and has move quickly than Mr Shah group. Hope he's talks to the fans through the Rovers website, this site and LET what his plans are for the club! He's not wasted any time in making his move to buy the club. This show that he is Very Serious about buying the club!!!

I am excited by the prospect, but I have to admit a certain amount of personal disappointment. For the last couple of years I have been working on putting together a group to purchase the club (which I know will most likely to be mocked, but I mean this in all seriousness) and had made some serious strides over the last six weeks or so (aided in part by the growing interest in the club). I have nearly secured the amount of financing that I think would be necessary, so to get so close something I had been really working on and to face the possibility of it being nipped in the bud is quite disappointing.

Question is mate, would you have £300million to invest?
