Someone ask about vinjay.

His latest contribution.

"One hell of an announcement before the season opener tomorrow. Certainly a major boost and I'll predict that by October at the latest the Walkers will finally be out of this football club.

The sooner the better. People can only speculate on what he plans to do with current employees at the club. Personally I hope he throws out pink slips like confetti. This club needs a major overhaul from top to bottom and hopefully I'll be writing to Julia Thiem (whom I have already exchanged rather brief e-mails with since she is somewhat limited at the moment due to the NDA in what she can reveal) about this issue when Mr Syed can hopefully make these changes. A lot of people have stabbed Jack Walker in the back over the past 10 years. They deserve to be punished.

Mr Ali Syed appears to have a "think big" mentality something that has been eradicated at all levels of this club since Jack died. People need to be brought in who share his vision not to try and drag this club down at every opportunity. The Walkers have held this club back for long enough."

Still dont think it would fall under that

Ok so can anyone scan the copies and somehow email the attachments to me? I can PM someone with my email.

If you look at every newspaper there is one of these© it means copyright. Only less than a couple of weeks ago one of the mods asked people NOT to cut and paste as it would get the site into trouble.

WHY DO PEOPLE NOT READ AND LISTEN

This is huge, really huge.

If he really does invest £300m into our club it could transform us into a side like Everton at the very least.

Really? So thats 300m to attain a position currently 2 places higher in the Prem worth about £1.5m with a ###### ground and a big debt? Wow! No wonder the Trust didn't feel the need to invest in BRFC. I wonder how much we'd need to get in the top 4?

I am excited by the prospect, but I have to admit a certain amount of personal disappointment. For the last couple of years I have been working on putting together a group to purchase the club (which I know will most likely to be mocked, but I mean this in all seriousness) and had made some serious strides over the last six weeks or so (aided in part by the growing interest in the club). I have nearly secured the amount of financing that I think would be necessary, so to get so close something I had been really working on and to face the possibility of it being nipped in the bud is quite disappointing.

:blink::o

Blimey, it's all happening today, with work, the Rovers, the lot. Time for a wee dram.

I'll be glad when this is all resolved. It's a scary proposition moving from a an owner who is basically a surrogate for our remarkable and frankly wonderful 'biggest fan' owner who passed away, to a new, unknown and completely unpredictable owner who wants to do what with the club... The good thing is it's exciting and could really benefit us in the long run. What happens when they decide they've had enough? Who knows but who expected Jack to pass away and the Trustee's to sell us? Interesting times.

The last set of accounts are to 30 June 2009 and show:

  • Book value of players (amount in the accounts after amortisation) £13.4m
  • Directors' estimated valuation of players (their estimate and not part of the accounts) £47m
  • Net interest payable £839k.

So they clear the debt and they save £840k a year

And the accounts say we have players worth just £13.4m? Ahhhh cant see much problem with the valuation their then...im sure we could raise that by selling just 1 or 2 of our key players.

Just found this on Cough Cough.

"The statement added that WGA would also "discuss the potential business and investment strategy including the transfer of new players" with Rovers chairman John Williams"

Sorry if it is common knowledge already.

Does this sound like the possibility of funds for Sam before the widow closes.

Not had chance to read the LET, might have to go out and get a copy now.

Interesting times ahead. As a number of us have mentioned its a bit scary that investing say £300m over a 10 year period will get you just a couple of places up the table. Wonder what the business model is. If its a loss leader to help him on other investments/businesses then fair enough. If Syed expects to make a return then good luck to him as I cannot see where that will happen. I would watch the Rovers on the Pleasington playfields so not bothered if it all goes wrong at some point, just hope the journey involves a bit more silverware and another European adventure. Could do with another trip to Feyernoord!!
