Clitherover Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Arrivals and shots of takeover team coming into SSN...tune in, be on soon! On in the next 2 mins, after the adverts...
tony gale's mic Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 I think if this all comes together, investing in youth should be our mantra. £100 million invested correctly could quite easily be recycled and then some with the model we've adopted over the years. However, I think our first action should be to buy one or two more experienced/established players, right now we've got more young prospects than at any time since our promotion winning team but we're badly lacking some experience and class in midfield and up front.
Backroom Madon Posted August 16, 2010 Backroom Posted August 16, 2010 On Sky Sports News next for anybody interested..
Balwer Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 im absolutely 100% sure, that Syed knows that football is hardly going to be a profitable business. Profitable on a year to year basis? Probably. At the very least breakeven might be the goal. Reselling the club for substantially more than the £45m that it's reported to be? That might be where he sees the return, several years down the line.
greggyk Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Don't expect anything new from SSN, just a few shots and fan voxes

True though he'll need to sell it for around £350m if he's going to invest £300m. At the end of the day though our club will only become more valuable if it goes from strength to strength on the pitch and that's what we're most concerned about as fans.

Of course, but we as fans need to be aware that his motivations aren't always going to mirror our own.
Derbyshire Blue Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Sky Sports News taking their time reporting on the possible take over... even gone onto Golf now.... Sounded like we were going to be a leading news when coming up to the commercials at the top of the hour..
RevidgeBlue Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 It all sounds a bit sinister if you ask me. I mean, Black cars? Suitcases full of money? Moving fast? Do we really need this? I mean we are joint top of the league after all. How it possibly all looked, earlier, maybe, outside the Club Shop. Class Bob Class. Errr....... how did you know that that was exactly how it was going to look judging by the LT photo?
pancini Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Will Syeds people now be based at Ewood for the next few weeks whilst they go through everything or will be a case of there today to sign documents and then they can take them away
Ozz Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 How it possibly all looked, earlier, maybe, outside the Club Shop. Mr Orange (Tim Roth)-"Where are the Rovers mittens? They said there'd be mittens!"

Looks like their not bothering... obviously they think it not as big of a news story than a Blackpool kid shouting GOAL! and Arsenal tickets for Blackpool fans the hottest tickets in town
AggyBlue Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Looks like their not bothering... obviously they think it not as big of a news story than a Blackpool kid shouting GOAL! and Arsenal tickets for Blackpool fans the hottest tickets in town Probably because no statements have been given to the press yet.
RevidgeBlue Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 So despite Mr. Plunkett getting us all in a lather with what turned out to be a a non story about Shah it seems that Mr. Syed's team arrived bang on the nose as expected to commence the process this morning and they do in fact have exclusivity as indeed the LT originally reported on Friday. Phew. Meanwhile Shah has seemingly confirmed his apparent standing as a tyrekicker.
Hughesy Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Omer Khan CV - The main money man who arrived today Kind of confirms the process is about to either start, or already has!
jonv Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 SSN in denial that football is in fact, coming home to Blackburn
47er Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 I agree, in a footballing sense we are doing well. However your initial response was disputing that Blackburn is a distressed asset. From a financial standpoint it's quite close to qualifying. Also--mightn't he be talking comparatively? We can say "we're 10th we're doing OK" but if he's comparing us to 1995 then aren't we "distressed'? He did say he wants to return the club to challenging for the Title.

Craigman Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Interview with CNBC by the man himself Very interesting including possibly increasing capacity of Ewood Park in time.

The Rover of Finland Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 This is like 4 weeks to Christmas.
BuckyRover Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 In the past we encouraged people to come and work in the textile industry. Now we can encourage them to come over to support a football team. How things change?
