Combining these two comments - My wife was also not nearly excited enough by what is going on. She even said Sam would probably resign because it's unethical to spend that much money on footballers!!!!

Granted, she and my 11 year old daughter tag along with me faithfully to every home game as I bought them a season ticket each as they're so cheap (season tickets, not my family), but beyond the thrill of a match day there is little other interest.

UNTIL THIS MORNING when I mentioned the link above and the very slim chance David Beckham might come to Rovers!

They are changed people. My wife actually had a hot flush - A HOT FLUSH!! Something I've never seen nor caused. And she's all for the takeover now.

So Bucky, you know what to do to get your girlfriend interested in the takeover - but it might cost you your manhood.

That is pure class - just wiping my spat out brew from the screen!!

Hey howe about a coalition? Seems all the rage currently.

Based on the one currently mis managing the country then I could not think of anything worse.

I really think people need to take a tep back and wait to see if this takeover happens. Not counting your chickens before they hatch and all that.

First point-the 100M has been reported both ways------ as being available immediately or available over 5 years. In fact the LT is saying that right now. I don't know which one is true and I honestly don't know which I'd prefer!

Secondly I asked you what you wanted instead of a takeover "realistically". To answer "sign Bellamy" is a rather strange answer and is certainly not realistic without a takeover.

Your statement....... "All we have heard is how wonderful it will be. I have great difficulty in believing much of this and frankly 45000 capacity stadium just confirms it for me."

Yet according to you you are not negative and not pouring cold water on a takeover. Well it doesn't seem that way to me. You've accepted there is no alternative so that makes your stance even more difficult to understand.

OK I've tried my best to explain my view on one item, stated I don't have an alternative plan (and why should I), explained I understood that suggesting Bellamy was not really the question you were asking (because I've already said I can't answer that) and explained my reasons for being concerned about the whole idea of a takeover. All this you have chosen to ignore so there's not a lot of point in developing the other areas that concern, for example where are the extra 20,000 fans going to come from?

If none of this is good enough there's little else I can say. I want to understand how this is going to work. I don't think it's much to ask. If you feel I don't address your points perhaps you could answer me the one thing I have clearly asked - how are the players wages going to be funded?

i guess we should get familiar with the indian national team, can only be a matter of time before we sign some of them. Its the only way this club will get the exposure the owner will be after.

just wiki'd the indian team only one playing outside of india, not looking good, the fella that used to be at bury appears to be a superstar however, stadium named after him winning come dancing....bit old and quite a poor footballer though unfortunately.

India.

Cricket, field Hockey, wrestling and football.

Latest figures seem to back up that football is developing at a rapid pace.

Nielsen online survey has found that nearly 56 percent of Indians said they planned to follow World Cup soccer this season.

It may not compare with Brazil’s 84 percent, but that still represents more than 600 million people.

yea lets buy an indian because the maybe new owner is indian...really makes sense that . do tell me why ,if there good enough surely they would have come to light now not just because of a new owner? buggers belief !!!

Its like all the love for bringing more asian fans in now just because of an indian owner,if they want to be a fan they would be now . Its like when king kenny and soey were in charge i never heard anyone clambouring to get more scot fans in .

Kamy can you please include as one of your questions how he plans to market the Rovers brand in India. Will we also likely see more merchandise lines in our club shop identical to what the big clubs stock?. Also can you ask him providing he takes over I am going to India in January for a holiday could he put me up for a few days B) I plan to visit a few places while over there. thanks.

Which player is that?

The only player I found who could be worth looking at is Sunil Chhetri. Celtic have looked at him and he would have signed for QPR last season had he got a work permit (he's played more international games since, might have better chance this time round).

If the takeover does go through, I would like to see us try to sign an Indian player, like Everton did with Li Tie when they got Chinese sponsorship (and like Man Utd attempted with Dong Fangzhuo).

WHY? like i said if there good enough then they would be playing now . Dont just say because of profiles ,i want playerswho are good enough not because of where there from.

If I feel that you haven't answered my points then perhaps i could answer your's! Gosh, what a great deal! I'll try anyway!

The simple answer is that any owner is responsible for meeting a shortfall between revenue and expenditure. I guess that's why he's committing 300M. He has plans to make Rovers self-sufficient in the longer-term and time will tell what they are and how effective they are.

But in this context he is clearly in it for the long-haul and has stated he has a 15 year plan. What's not to like?

Finally let's not forget he is fabulously wealthy and, as he has said, he earns enough from his other ventures not to have to make a profit from this one. As you said, there is no alternative so why the gloom and doom. If he'd chosen another club this board would be full of people saying "lucky buggers, why didn't he choose us?"

Because, if Syed's plan is to generate extra money by increasing Sponsorship in Asia, signing a player from that area could take the thing to a whole new level.

If they're not good enough then we can always move them on again, I'd imagine any signing would more than pay for themselves with increased sponsorship. If we're lucky we might get a decent squad player, like Everton did with Li Tie.

I think there will be plenty of less-than-traditional approaches to making money by new owners because we've exhausted all the normal ways of doing so. This seems one of the relatively pain-free ones, if you compare to things like selling the stadium name etc.

I'm as thrilled as everyone else on here about the huge cash injection for the club, but we should face a reality check for a minute. It'll be the marketing exercise of the century if we can up the attendance to somewhere in the 40's. A new Riverside stand would complete Ewood but who's gonna fill the seats ? This is Blackburn, not Liverpool, Newcastle or Manchester.

A rail link yes, a hotel definitely with increased parking, but the only difference a new stand would make would be aesthetic.

The Fiver, which is a football round up news service similar to what Nicko's mates at Football 365 do, came up with that monicker if memory serves me right. It was given around the time we had Todd, Savage etc and regularly topped the disciplinary charts.

Did anyone hear the interview on talk sport last night with the sportswriter from the Guardian – didn’t catch his name.

Was basically questioning Syeds intentions, Liverpool and numerous other city clubs are a much better propositions – maybe.

He also claimed Jack Walker “finished off” the stadium so no need to redevelop – Has he ever been to Ewood?

Generally just put the club and town down for most of his interview, Darren Gough to his credit fought our corner, but I almost crashed the car in anger!

T****r.

He cant be that much of a fool if he's made billions by the age of 36.

9th Generation wealth? 180 years in the making?

I hope I'm wrong but just to add some balance to the debate this thread will mirror a Portsmouth thread of some years ago and is exactly the same as the noises made at Oxford at the time.

I stand by my point that it has to be healthier for a football club and the game in general to be run on a sustainable basis. Real competition, relegation and promotion should be part and parcel of the game, they add to the intensity.

Boom, bust and financial oblivion shouldn't be. This takeover only serves to fuel a bubble that at some point will burst.

Hope I'm wrong and in the circumstances I'm not opposed to the take over. However to greet this 'talk' with such enthusium (especially with football littered with fall-out), is in my opionion a little naive.

I keep hearing you don't make millions if your a fool, Joey Barton and the list goes on....? The saying I'm more familar with is that you don't make millions without being ruthless.

WGA is set to double in value from $1.5bn to $3.5bn this year alone.

Even if he were to give Rovers £300m in one go, he will be richer than he was before he handed it over just 2 months later!! Makes you sick and excited all at the same time!

I'm also set to double or triple my personal wealth this year. It doesn't mean I will.
