Don't be daft. How could anybody find that offensive? Obviously he's not a proper black man but it's only poetic licence being employed. It's a play on 'Big fat Jacks Barmy army' which was soon curtailed when he made it plain that he didn't like it. Im sure that J*B is not intending to offend.

It's only like Scousers christening John Barnes 'Tarmac' in the 1980's cos he was like a black Heighway. They loved him.

It's about humour not racism.

Typically stupid comment by the board's resident racist.

Tarmac (Black Heighway) is witty and funny (unusual for Scousers) but there's nothing witty or funny about Black Jack's army.

How can tarmac be acceptable but black jack not be? One is playing on a chewy sweet the other a black road. Both have black connotations.

Because Syed is not black?

Lumping all the ethnic minorities in together is pretty offensive IMO.

Mods, you do a great job, however too many threads are getting dragged off topic all too frequently at the moment.

We can't be here every second of every day so the only way to stop that happening would be to set the board so that every post is 'vetted' before it goes live.. hardly practical eh?

No but taking a harder line would cut some of the irrelevant rubbish which is posted - as I said, it is occuring too often at the moment.

The fans were singing mr syeds name today. Quite a few renditions of ali, ali syed which I think went to the tune of daddy, daddy cool..... As random as it sounds it did actually fit.

Either get this thread back on topic and away from racism or it will be closed

You mods must be hoping against hope that this latest bid falls through.

The 1980's is where such comments belong.

Sam on the takeover in the NOTW

I've had everybody on this week asking me how I'm going to spend the £100m that's supposedly coming my way. But let's hold on a minute. The news is really exciting but at present there's only a proposal on the table, nothing is signed or sealed.

I've noticed a different atmosphere at the club and, along with the expectation, it is one I have to manage.

We have made ourselves viable to buyers by finishing 10th last year, now people around the world want to get involved because the Premier League is sexy.

......

Very constructive. Just let it drop eh?

Personally I think to chant the prospective new owners name is very premature at this stage. Those doing it probably get excited at the prospect of a big brother 'housemate' opening a supermarket.

It would be the end of the Lancashire United possibility for the next 15 years if it went thru'

Buried in Dan King's NOTW match report is a comment that 'whispers' in the game say the takeover will not go through. Maybe the Comebackid's Sancho Panza is abroad. More's the pity.
