[Archived] Rovers Might Have Been Sold?

Recommended Posts

I am wondering if Sam Allardyce's comments about wanting to finish all transfer business by Friday and the tentative deal for Popov might be a hurry up message to the potential new owners. He has put pressure on the board before.

No, that makes no sense. They're not driving a bus here, they're trying to takeover an enterprise. This takes time and plenty of red tape.

People need to just relax a little bit. I have been in contact with Mr Ali's people this morning, I can't reveal what they said because of the media blackout that they have imposed, other than then the due diligence process in ongoing. The deal has not hit the buffers. They are of a view that at this stage "actions are stronger than words".

Remember this could go on for four weeks, just because there is no media comment does not mean that there are problems.

Typical of the rag like the news of the world to talk about the deal not going through, simply because the takeover team won't give anything away.

I’ve stopped Debs buying it :D

Hardly think 'tweeting' about the matter goes along with the 'actions speak louder than words' theory.

It does show proactivness.

That being said one rarely gets a response and when one does it is the same information in a rearranged sentence.

"We do not want to buy him."

"Buy him we do not want." Yodaesque like

Interesting to know why the club have left the door open for other people to talk to them about a takeover.

I'd love to buy a house off you!

First rule of negotiation - know your BATNA and keep your options open!

(Best Alternative To a Negotiated Agreement - I knew that one managment class this semester would come in useful somewhere :) )

He either knows something we don't or is a ******.

One or the other, you decide.....

It's an extremely odd thing to do UNLESS he is in receipt of some inside knowledge that the takeover is as good as done and dusted.

It's tempting fate dreadfully.

He surely couldn't be in receipt of info the takeover ISN't going through and on a wind up.

I'd be surprised if the LT do not get the world exclusive when/if a sale is completed. The only complicating factor would be the buyers will have their own views about how it should be announced and they of course would have the deciding say on the matter.

Enough has been written on here about the LT "following the official line". I would imagine most people believe that to be the case.

It could be that Paul Plunkett didn't think through what tweeting something like that would do to the waiting fans.
