Can you post a link to the article. As a lot of us outside Blackburn cannot get the LT.

I wonder why it is that the BBC hates Rovers. Has this happened since Shearer started being a pundit. Time for anti BBC chants.

I like the 'it wont stop us & we will prove you wrong' attitude they are displaying.

Hopefully it will just pi$$ Syed off more & make him even more determined to make little old Blackburn successful AGAIN! :brfc:

Syed's own comments would seem to suggest that some of the story has merit - as quoted in the LT:

“The Bahraini authorities have asked for clarification on WGA’s investment activities and we are co-operating fully with their enquiries."

you would think, that they would already know. So why do they need clarification from WGA? :unsure:

I dont know the man personally but I know how it is to work in the Persian Gulf in any of the countries. "Laws and regulations" have a loose meaning and are largely applied case to case. I dont want to go into details however, it is far different to having your offices shut down in London, Paris or NYC. There are a lot of hidden agendas and velvet gloves that stroke other people in this part of the world. There is always a catch too. I wouldnt even be slightly worried if his offices are shut down there. Id be surprised but not worried. Take this from someone who has lived in the region for 25 years.

I think this is probably the most informed comment based on experience on what is currently happening.

BBC will provide its full findings on Sunday, hmmm im very interested to hear what that is. I hope Mr Syed has his legal team ready for anything, that might be thrown their way.

Seems like a rehash of the BBC story, they have no official comment from the Bahrain Government or any proof that what they alledge has actually happened.

Sorry if this sounds cynical why would a Government department comment on matters like this?

I would persume that if you had shut down a company and the company claimed that this was not the case then the government department responsible for this would want to comment.

I am not saying that WGA haven't been shut down (so far we have only heard WGA's side of things), even Lancashire Telegraph tried to get officials to comment but they did not.

Just another thought. If the takeover happens by Syed, do they want big Sam as the manager? As that could be another reason why not much dealings in the transfer market. Maybe the takeover is nearer than we think and Sam knows he is out of a job at Rovers, therefore why buy players who will not be needed after january.

IIRC he's backed Sam (check the LET website). It's been a quiet transfer window all round (the least money spent for some years) so no surprise skint and up-for-sale Rovers haven't done much business.

Right now the Aussies are probably fourth in the pecking order.

Syed is way ahead, Shah has been given terms that the Trust would sell to him, the group of Indians nicko reported on are seriously minted apparently then comes the consortium of Aussies. And if the Aussies are who I think they are, one of them is Indian!

Media interest seems to be snowballing again following this 'probe'.

Afterall they did tell people to do their own due diligence on them - so it will be interesting to see how they react (except for the current statement out there) :wacko: . Hopefully the Bahrain authorities come out & back them up! :rock:
