[Archived] Rovers Might Have Been Sold?

As I said yesterday I have my doubts about this mob they're lying to us already, closed down a 3am statement stated NO business as usual it was also stated that staff were given leave for Ramadan. Some people really need to grow up on here the BBC are against us WHY? It's that small town mentality that some people have get out more trust me their Is more to see outside of Blackburn. What have the beeb got to gain by being against us.

We all have a lot of time for Alan Nixon he is keeping very quiet on the takeover matter as when he does people are jumping down his throat. Kamy really appreciate what you've been doing but this mob has been feeding you a load of bull all along.

People have faith in the Trust UTD fans had faith in the Edwards even when he was nearly conned by Michael Knighton. The Liverpool fans had faith in the Moores family look whats happening to those two big clubs . It's a fact of life when a person is trying to buy/sell anything they'll hide as many cracks as possible.

What you say might of course turn out to be correct but you're not basing it on anything concrete other than your gut instinct so perhaps you should back it up with something a little more substantial before you start calling people insular.

I'm a bit disappointed to see the LT seemingly doing an about turn and jumping on the BBC bandwagon this morning after previously not being able to write anything glowing enough about Mr. Syed.

IF he is intending to invest his own money in BRFC and IF he is worth the sort of money he says he is then I couldn't really give two hoots if he runs into slight difficulties within his other business interests as long as it doesn't impinge on his own personal liquidity and thus ability to finance the Club.

Surely if he wasn't worth the sort of money he claims, Rothschilds /the Trustees wouldn't have allowed him exclusive access to the books? If he isn't, and they have, heads should roll.

How much impact all this has as regards the latest Premier League test of course remains to be seen. This was presumably the intent of whoever leaked the revelations in the first place.

Nobody has leaked anything they've printed facts, that's something some on here aren't willing to accept so even the LT are against us now.

Even they are being called the dingle rag for F### sake it's a Blackburn based paper.

I can't see why everyone is making such a big deal of this.

The facts are that, from what I can gather, they've been asked to stop trading from their Bahrain office/branch as the government there have asked questions/launched an investigation into their activities. Julia Thiem has told us and media that they've been asked to stop trading, but that this does not mean that the office/branch has been forced to close and stop all operations. The reason for the closure of the office in question may well be down to an office relocation and Ramadan. As she said the office is still in operation, although not trading, and this is, to my knowledge, not denied by any 'government officials' from Bahrain.

Of course Syed's PR team will put their spin on things, but cannot see how people thinks they've been telling a lot of bull..? Facts are there in the open, and as Kamy said if they've told us a lot of bull, they would have had to tell the Trust/Rothschild the same...

Just let them get on with the deal, as this is not a major concern in my opinion. I might simplify things, but that's why view.

You are correct it is gut instinct and I really do hope that I'm wrong and we are taken over.Concrete I personally can't give you that's why I've suggested that those who have media contacts on Here might want to contact the local paper in Hydrabad, I'm sure they'd have something on a local boy who made it big.

Out of all this massive furore, what is the WORST accusation that has been levelled at WGA - "Trading on behalf of an undisclosed 3rd party" (As far as I can make out)

Errrmmmmmm..............

He comes from 9 generations of money so hardly local boy made big- his great great great great great etc was

Being sensible, WGA are no doubt under press siege at the moment.

The best bet for Rovers is that WGA come through this all OK and complete the purchase. As I have said before, we are going to end up with the most vetted owner in football!

All this debate about something that nobody really knows much about happening in Bahrain is affecting the Due Dilligence process how? How will it stop Syed from purchasing Rovers if everything is in order and he passes the fit and proper test?

The family's historic rise to wealth should also be documented and verifiable you would have thought. The point has been made that there is remarkably little information out there about Mr. Syed and his family's background given the level of their alleged wealth.

And I have made the point that people that rich can keep themselves totally off the radar. And do.

The only self-made billionaire I know is not on Forbes, the rich list, wikipedia and if you Google him you find nothing.

I was wondering why him or his family wasn't named on the Forbes rich list, 8 billion buys you a seat.

Absolutely no one on this planet in business is 100% squeaky clean, not Governments, their individule bodies or individuals as directors or sole traders.

Anyone who thinks that even our own clubs owners in the past did not have a skeleton in the cupboard really does need a reality check.

If Syed had been the only bidder from day one I doubt very much that any of this would have come to light.

Unfortunate and yes it will need to be answered in full to the satisfaction of all parties, either way coming to light when it did, I'd suggest it has partially achieved it's goal, whether it will score a hat trick is the question.

I doubt just Rovers would be affected if the allegations are serious enough to cast a cloud over Syed's business affairs.

At worse, I can see all he formalities being concluded and then placed into the pending tray for a week or two.

Absolutely.

I hope that if this chap really is worth in the billions of pounds he is not scared off by some gobsh**e at the BBC wanting to make a name for himself and a groundswell of negativity from the local paper and some of the fanbase.

Because I doubt there will be a queue of other billionaires lining up to take his place for a very long time if at all.

Well this local article (posted 16 August) seems to confirm that WGA are indeed moving premises as claimed:

http://www.ameinfo.com/240214.html

The 5 Live program should be interesting on Sunday.

The situation as I see it is:

1) WGA are relocating to new offices.

2) They have been ordered by the authorities to cease trading over there for an alleged infringement of the conditions of their licence to operate.

3) However their office is still physically open. Therefore Julia Thiem is technically entitled to "deny" reports that their offices have been shut down although arguably that's being rather economical with the facts and a fuller explanation would have been preferable and would have diffused today's revelations.

The LT ran an article about their background..

Used to own the East India company I think it said.

Your summary of the situation looks spot on......The way the media are running the story is that he is skint  He is FAR from that :tu:

Its just some dirty rival bidder playing nasty to try and get a chance & taking over!!

Bahrain is riding a tiger.

A private company has become the centre of global media because one of its overseas operations (Switzerland) is making a high profile purchase. The Bahrain company has a very restrictive license and all the press coverage is talking about the Bahrain end and not Switzerland.

Whether they like it or not, the world's eyes are watching how the Bahrain Government are handling this situation.

Everyone on their list of prospects for investing in Bahrain will be asking themselves; "These guys stop your operations whilst they ask questions- is that somewhere I can afford to run my business from because regulators ask everyone questions all the time???"

That is why the Bahraini regulator is under enormous pressure on this one in a way they probably had not thought of when they visited WGA's offices.

I think your substantially over playing this.. I live in Yorkshire (yeah, yeah... Its nicer than Blackburn, get over it!) and most people are unaware there is even a takeover happening... I hear in London you still have to remind people that Blackburn Rovers are in the premier league, let alone the centre of an international row and on the verge of bringing down the Bahrain goverment!

Surprised its the top story on the Malteese 6 o'clock news?

-----------------------

On a seperate note, surprised to see so many people jumping off the band wagon so quickly, I mean there is very little substance in any of this. Come on people, show a bit of back bone and stand by your man. I remain skeptical (that this is in Rovers best interests - long term) but hopeful. Certainly not swayed by the closing of a middle east office of a company that apparantly doesn't do anything other than have an address and some admin staff.

Strange though isn't, the more you look for the substance, the more questions you find?
