[Archived] Rovers Might Have Been Sold?

Recommended Posts

2 1/2 weeks for due diligence.....and you expect it to be quicker???

They are buying a football club with lots of contract agreements - not some used car!

All that should have been done before it came out in the media....this smells of shoddy PR by some chancer....Any normal Billionaire would have sorted it out without it getting public.

Sparky Marky, do you have any experience of buying and selling companies personally?

I have and believe me this one is being handled with the utmost professionalism and speed in what are turning out to be very trying circumstances.

I don't have any problem about you being totally opposed to the Trust selling our beloved football club to anyone but I think some of your reasoning doesn't make any sense what so ever.

Normal billionaire? There is nothing normal about a billionaire; the rarity of the bread alone makes them abnormal.

Shoddy, chancer? Fixed before it hits the press? If the Queen and royal family can not pull that off I dont think that a shoddy, chancer,Indian, fake billionaire has a chance.

Your mind is not made up is it?

He has purchased a company for 300 million, that would back up what he has said does it not about being rich? Forget everything else about the trust doing checks etc, this is a fact that cannot be disputed,i would also add the builder who he went into business has said that syed is a sound bloke and is who he says he is.we will see what happens next but I think we'll have new owners soon, if pl fail him its a joke when dodgy ali and co got into portsmouth.

Edit- Looking at the link below, key lines for me are:

WGA has made two property investments in Australia totalling a reported $370m; with Landmark Business Development, an industrial employment hub at Gawler, South Australia; and NSW retirement village developer Total Group.

Allan Keller, through his interest in Landmark, was WGA's first Australian client. He has met Mr Ali "at least a dozen times". He said: "I am happy to confirm that my relationship is very good."

He said his first transaction had been finalised "to my satisfaction", and Mr Keller was in the process of concluding a second.

I know this is tempting fate but I have just been on google news and newsnow looking for how the rest of the world's media are covering the LT's scoop. Here are the links...

I see your point, but the counter-argument is that we are the only people who care remotely about this takeover, Mr Ali and Rovers in general...

Will say again that for Mr Ali to get this far he will have had to prove to Rothchilds/Trust that he has the finance in place, both short and long term. There is no way that he would have been allowed to look at Rovers books unless he had proved this.

Saurin Shah and all the others who have tried to buy Rovers have never got to the Due Diligence stage because they could not prove that they had the finance, therefore the negotiations stopped before they got due diligence.

I totally with that. We have to TRUST John Williams, the board, Rothchilds and the Walker's Trustees that they will find the right owner for the club. Also they are not just going to open the club's accounts to anybody. They will ONLY open the club's accounts to the right person or people who they think are right for the club and have the funds in place to buy the club and to investment in the club long term.

Dan williams and his group, Saurin Shah, Chris Ronnie didn't get to look at the Club's Accounts but Mr Ali did, so he's must have prove that he has the funds for the short and long term!!!

Looking forward to John Williams Q and A in the LET tomorrow. I can't think any other Chairman who talk to the fans and to the local paper about the club.

Thought the LT exclusive with JW may have generated a bit more speculation.

I can't see it being about the speculation in Bahrain, not his place to comment, so why the need for an exclusive. ?????? Everyone shrouded in a NDA, so little their for an exclusive.

Wonder what it could all be about. ?????? :)

From Cryer's twitter page:

JW can't talk on takeover due to confidentiality etc. He is comenting on general situation at club

No doubt the lack of Transfer activity then and how we spent a small fortune sending the scouts to the four corners of the world finding players, that we had no dosh to buy. :)

I have little doubt that Uncle Ali is the real deal, based upon some research that I've done, and fully expect all this to be done and dusted by 17th September.

I stand to be shot and forecast that bulldozers will be demolishing the Riverside on Monday 16th May 2011 with plans already drawn-up by Ali's construction arm in Ireland.

A takeover has to happen in order to survive and compete in the league. We can't continue with signings like Benjani...I thought this guy syed was the man to do it, but all this speculation over his business worries me a little bit. Obviously it's already been mentioned that in order to get to this stage he will have had to prove his credentials etc, but I can't help but feel that its all too good to be true. I just hope I am wrong for the sake of Blackburn Rovers.
