[Archived] Rovers Might Have Been Sold?

Recommended Posts

I thought this guy Shah was the man to do it, but all this speculation over his business worries me a little bit. Obviously it's already been mentioned that in order to get to this stage he will have had to prove his credentials etc, but I can't help but feel that its all too good to be true. I just hope I am wrong for the sake of Blackburn Rovers.

One thing your wrong about is his name, His name is Mr Syed not Mr Shah,

I have little doubt that Uncle Ali is the real deal, based upon some research that I've done, and fully expect all this to be done and dusted by 17th September.

I stand to be shot and forecast that bulldozers will be demolishing the Riverside on Monday 16th May 2011 with plans already drawn-up by Ali's construction arm in Ireland.

Bold statements, back up with dates, I'm saying nothing, except what's the completion date for the new stand?. ;)

Please do not think I am attacking you in anyway whatsoever, that is not the case, I just think that your worries and questions are just very much on the negative side and just wanted to know why. I have no issue whatsoever with skepticism, but negativity for the sake of it does grate. Why would he not have the best interest of the club at heart? It’s not like we have a squad of players that he can asset strip, he could sell and develop the land that goes with the club I suppose, but again why would he want to.

Moaning may have been a bit strong, but questioning such a thing is a bit strange. Look how long it took the City owner to go to a game and even then he told no one that he was going. I just thought that it was another little bit of ammunition for your anti stance.

Some of the postings on here, in regards to this takeover, are getting pretty close to 911 truthers with the lengths to which small pieces of datum are being stretched to fit a profile.

Exactly! Why would he go through all this trouble to buy a club like Rovers if he didn't want the fun and prestige of making a go of it? As loads of people keep pointing out, the only way to make money from Rovers in the short-term is to close it down and selloff all the assets. He can't make a fortune out of Brockhall because of the covenants on it. All he could sell are the players and the ground. He might and I stress MIGHT break even or make a few bob. What a pointless exercise!

I am not anti takeover as you might suggest, I'm of Indian origin myself therefore, I'd be delighted if a fellow Indian bought the club.

I'm just like you I want the best for our beloved football club and Jacks legacy to be continued the Trustees they just want out.

If you want to be like me---------cheer up! :tu:

Exactly.

Reported to be worth over £1bn and ready to asset strip a football club for a small profit?

What's the point?

Why did Abramovich buy Chelsea? It wasn't to make money, but I remember at the time people said he would get bored and leave them in the lurch. Doesn't seem likely at the moment. (To be clear, I do not think we will be the next Chelsea).

It was a smarter investment than some seem to think. The club was so cheap that he was able to use his money to invest in the playing side and increase the value of the club that way. He could easily sell at a profit now, considering their increased global profile and the value of the land holdings that the club has.

I wonder if the Liverpool lads are keeping tabs on how many potential new owners are after us :)

They are turning green with envy. Seriously though, because Rovers are such a well run club it makes them an attractive proposition (even though it has taken 3 years for people to realise that)!

From that by Kamy.....Top work mate!

Syed Ali's bid to purchase Blackburn Rovers remains on track despite reports of trade problems that he faces in Bahrain.

Sources close to takeover have revealed to BRFCS that Mr Ali has completed due diligence and in now ready to purchase the club.

Sources have indicated that legal procedures relating to the sale are well under way and Mr Ali hopes to complete the deal by the third week of September. Sources have also indicated that Mr Ali is now preparing to undergo the Premier League fit and proper test, no problems are envisaged with regards to this as Rovers own checks are much more rigerous than the Premier League test.

In a separate development, sources have revealed that Rovers representatives held serious talks with a new unnamed bidder this week in London. It is believed that the new bidder has potentially greater financial resources than Mr Ali. BRFCS understands that whilst Mr Ali remains in pole position to purchase Rovers, the trustees want to fully evaluate all bidders before selling the club

Not at all Gav im still hoping Syed buys the club. However, there is no harm in checking out this new bidder. Im not sure how this will affect his 3rd week of September timeline, as the new bidder might possibly have something better to present.

I just want the board to look at the options and see who they think is the most suitable buyer. The new guy might have more money but may not want to set aside as much for the club as Mr Ali has indicated he would.

Very very exciting times!!
