Bill Gates?

Things are crazy!

First there was Shah, everyone was backing him.

Then everyone hates Shah and wants Ali.

Now there is a potential Man City revolution about to occur?

Is this Ewood Park or has Dream Team started on Sky One again?

I can confirm 1864 has been talking to people similar to who I have and totally agree with what he is saying. I think that because it is their first programme tomorrow evening they may want to get things off with a bang I just hope that what they say is properly sourced, am certain that Mr Ali's legal team will be listening very carefully.

I have interesting rumour of the who the unnamed party, not going to say who they are because a) it could be totally and utterly wrong and B) it would start a absolute frenzy on here. If I can get it 100% confirmed that it is them then I will post it on here, but if it is them then Syed would not have a chance of competing against them. I don't know if that would be a good or bad thing, whereas Syed has a plan based on 15 years, building the club up in three distinct phases. This other group would if it is them follow the Manchester City model.

Has my repeated emails to Microsoft and Apple about a global televised advertising opportunity paid off?

If so 1864roverite - I will hold you to renaming the stand after me.

To be fair this story about this group was from Nicko's story in last Sunday's the people, although the identity was unknown but this is the one that Alan was talking about in his story, I am sure that if he can get it confirmed then he will run the story. Oh and this group is also from India if it is them.

Tomorrow is going to be the first 5LIVE investigates programme, looks like they want to try and make a sensational debut. This publicity is certainly going to make their listening figures soar. I just hope that whatever they reveal is properly sourced. The programme has the potential to do a lot of damage to Mr Ali' reputation. If it is properly sourced then people will have to accept it but if it sensationalist rubbish designed to ensure that the first show makes a "mark then what little respect that I had for the BBC will be gone.

I really do find this bizarre.Surely, not even the BBC are stupid enough to make up possible unsubstantiated rumours about Mr Syed and his finances when they know well enough his lawyers will be listening in?

What is the problem/agenda with the media and Rovers? :angry2:

Not saying that they are, I just hope that whatever they report tomorrow is properly sourced. If they have stuff that is properly sourced and backed up with evidence and it raises questions about Syed then rightly people will applaud them for bring this to the fore.

If what ever is due to come out tomorrow night, is worthy of broadcasting, I'll be amazed if someone else with more resources has not got hold of this for the Sundays.

agree with that. probably in the NOTW or Nicko got the story. he will let us know lately probably.

I seem to recall one of the Ambani brothers being interested in purchasing a football club a long time ago- they also own the IPL in India? There are few people out there who could 'do a Man City' they would be in that group.

I did have a quick skip through the profiles of some of people of the list Brian provided and number 1 on the list owns the Mumbai Indians, so there would be a fair chance that he would be willing to invest in other sporting teams, especially if there was a marketing opportunity. Now he was pretty rich as well.

I would worry about someone trying to do a Man City type investment with us, as if the money ceased to be flowing into the club then we would have little way of sustaining the wage bill. I do like the slightly slower building philosophy employed by Birmingham and Everton.

Just to clarify Anil Ambani was after newcastle united about 2 years ago, this was big news in india, not sure why the deal fell through. http://www.businessweek.com/globalbiz/content/aug2008/gb2008084_630754.htm?campaign_id=rss_topStories

Mukesh Ambani is the owner of the Mumbai Indias along with his wife and was linked with Liverpool earlier this year

Mittal Ownes QPR so he is ruled out.

From Mitals involvement in QPR we can see that although they may have alot of money I dont think millions has gone into the squad this could be perhaps because A) he bought the club as an investment and looking for a return but quickly found out that wasnt possible or B) His plans havent quite worked yet.

The two Ambani brothers are not the closest either.

Patience is a virtue and good things come to he who waits.

I wonder now, after the last couple of years of belt tightening, selling the gold to pay off the bills and getting things right off the pitch, whether Rovers are going to reap the benefit of all the hard work put into the club by everyone connected to BRFC.

I dont know who the interested party is but I do know what Kamy has exchanged with me. All I will say that if it is true then that ride we have been on since 1992 is going to continue and go on and on.

I am at ease with WGA and their plan to buy Rovers. I would dearly love to know the plans of WGA just for the short term because it seems to me, and this is only based on what I have been told, the club is ready to roll forwards. We just have to hope that on the pitch we keep things positive and grab some points in the bag.

Looks like Kamy has lit a fire to smoke out nicko!

There was a question whether I know anything I haven't posted on here with regards to Ahsan Ali Syed, WGA and Bahrain and the answer is no.

But that won't stop me from making some observations!

- is it only a coincidence that the Bahrain offices of WGA were visited at the time new parties approached Rothschilds for the first time when the WGA business model for Rovers (ie a credible one with all respect to Mr Shah) and WGA's exclusive agreement with the Trust had just become public?

- is it only a coincidence that these two new un-named bidders made their presence public by press tip-offs last Saturday to get into the Sunday papers when all the indications to anyone who has done a takeover points to Ali Syed having got Rovers in the bag only for the BBC's Goldberg to pop up on the Sunday afternoon with his story?

- why has none of the national press picked up and run with the LT's Thursday front page revelation that WGA had indeed been told to stop investment operations in Bahrain?

- is the reason the Bahraini authorities have given for stopping WGA's operations sufficiently substantial to block an investment business of the size and calibre of WGA whilst they are supplying answers to some pretty routine questions?

- Ali Syed's deal to buy Rovers is better than I could ever seriously have forecast happening. Yes I was a "stay with the Trust" poster and yes I am no longer saying that for the simple reason that it looks like Ali Syed ticks all the boxes and then a lot more boxes we had no right to ask to be ticked if he is true to everything he has said publicly.

- Better a bird in the hand than two in the bush... to quote the old English proverb

Was talking to a QPR fan last night, the new Principal of my old Secondary school as it happens

He mentioned the owners and said that although they hadn't ploughed millions directly into the playing side of things they did wipe out the £50 millions plus, of debts that they had accrued. He also seemed pretty happy with the new found stability at the club and thought that they where on the up again.

True but what I was referring to was a Man city spending spree (Being the 4th richest person in the world) rather than a Syed plan..
