The BBC story is a very strange read. The implication is that this guy doesn't have two beans to rub together - debts of a few thousand from yonks ago, couple of companies stopped filing etc - which would then make the real story as to how and why he could at this very moment be looking over the books of a Premier League club, something that Goldberg doesn't touch. So his story is that some bloke lived like a pig when he was a student and legged it without settling up, which is hardly cause to stop the presses.

I've known some very rich people who live like pigs and think that paying small bills is something poor people do, and I've also known some fantasists. Time will tell which he is. I do know that I have less faith in the wonderful Rothschilds than some on here as this 3 year project to earn a few percent of a 25 million sale will most likely have been on the bottom of the pile for the office junior, who will be getting a good bollocking at 8.30am tomorrow.

Syed not as quick to reply to these latest allegations....

Out of interest, Philip, you have been talking in very warm terms about Syed ever since he has been linked with buying us - do you know him personally, or heard of him before?

The pictures on the facebook site certainly don't reflect the prestigious appearance from outside of a west end flat in Westminster just off Marble Arch.

His business address he used is 58 BRYANSTON COURT GEORGE STREET LONDON W1H 7HD Google Maps.

ouwm11.jpg

A search of the property market also lists No 78 for sale in the same building £450000.

ROI would be around £2000-3000 a month.

Taking into account a bond he would have been around 3-4 months behind, pretty lax agent to say the least.

Some of the flats in this building are going for 250k up to £1.5m. 2007 prices of course.

My link

57 is currently valued at £1.15m. quoted rental £4600pcm.

Some things just don't stack up here.

I'm not completely buying into the Syed takeover just yet, but I can't see why the BBC 'revelations' should make any difference to it.

I've never seen such a small storm in a large teacup!

Exclusive: BBC discover young men can live in filth!!!

Exclusive: Companies House eventually close down Companies that don't file annual returns!

Exclusive: People who know they will be leaving a property avoid paying Council Tax for that property!

These could apply to anyone and everyone.

I'm in business and I will delay paying my business rates for as long as I can (I'd rather spend the initial money on stock) and if I was in a short term lease I wouldn't exactly be banging on the Town Hall doors demanding they take 6 months payment up front.

In 7 years I have formed 5 companies. I've had a few ideas that either haven't worked out or I decided not to pursue. 2 of my companies have remained successful and I have filed the correct paperwork for, the other 3 were just ignored and eventually dissolved at Companies House. I must remember that if I become rich and want to buy a football club this will be held against me!!

For this bid to be derailed it should take a much bigger bombshell that they have come up with so far.

I've been waiting with anticipation all week for the BBC to send shock-waves through the Premiership because the new owner is a gun-runner, drug dealer or he destroyed a small village to build his mansion..... But no, all I got was a Billionaire who didn't file an annual return and the people they asked in his fair sized home town don't know him.

As long as he has done nothing immoral, the only thing he should have to prove to the club is that he is as rich as he says he is - and that is NOT a difficult task.

I must say I enjoyed the bit where you all got giddy about whoring yourselves around to any passing swarthy businessman.

But the level of denial now on display, despite it being quite clear to everyone outside 'Blackburn with Darwen' that the guy's a scruffy, Walter Mitty spiv, is even better.

Have you finally put ten bob in electric meter so you can come back on to the internet? It`s taken a fair while to save up for...

I just don't feel good about the proposed takeover of Blackburn Rovers by Ahsan Ali Syed.

I make the comparison with Michael Knighton here.

Tonight's BBC Radio Five Live Investigates has done a good job of picking through the evidence. I'm sure Rovers fans will be listening in a state of anger and confusion.

Here's what concerns me now: not that there is truth in the allegations and that the deal can't go through. I don't like the cut of his gib so far; it's all wrong. If he's successful and loaded, I still don't see a good outcome. If he's successful and isn't as wealthy as he makes out, then the humiliation will be complete.

Well I throw that question right back at ya John, as you've been talking in such sceptical terms about the fellah

Anger and confusion? WTF! The guy isn't a paedo, drug or gun runner. He has no record of embezelment or other such neferious dealings, What are you, a red top looking for a sensational scoop?...."Angry confused Rovers fans in mass suicide bid"....Get over yourself lad!

What is also strange is that this reporter quotes people as not knowing him yet he never at any point challenges the fact that he has money.

He does not talk about the two recent takeovers which seem to have been a success either.

My thinking is that they were hoping and praying that their digging was going to throw up something spectacularly awful, but they have been left with nothing stories in my opinion.

All of this will surely have been picked up by the club and our advisors or they really are doing a poor job.

people seem to be getting carried away, the trust and more importantly rothchilds will not let the club be sold to somebody who isnt right, both these have, rothchilds in particular big reputations to keep up, looking at the builders (mccabe)that he bought into everything seems above board, watch this space.

Can I just say I am a little confused, here.

The revelations were built up as nothing less than shocking, but all I can find so far are allegations of some failed businesses amongst the succesful businesses, a failure to pay some debts, and a very untidy flat.

While this behaviour is inexcusable if proven correct, I am struggling to identify what exactly is supposed to shock me to my core?

From the lack of interest from the media at large, I think even they were expecting a meatier story - unearthing a background to rival Thaksin Shinawatra, perhaps?

I am not defending the alleged behaviour, but it just doesn't seem to warrent the hype FiveLive gave it.

Or am I missing something crucial?

Seems pretty angry and confused on here mate. Some anger at the BBC, and confusion at how this bloke conducts his business affairs.
