[Archived] Rovers Might Have Been Sold?

Recommended Posts

Patience is a virtue, I would expect the statement to be out, by the Friday, as on Monday the exclusivity that WGA has is over.

Lets just hope this situation is resolved one way or the other so that we can then concentrate on the other potential buyers.

I agree as well, unless they are getting ready to royally sue the hell out of someone all this quiet is unnecessary. "That's Rubbish and here's why" takes about 2 minutes to say and about the same to prove - if you are on the level.

Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants... Ali confirms the purchase of rovers and sues the BBC for slander (or what have you) in the same day.

If you think our media coverage is bad now.....

One other random thought re: PR silence... it depends how close to home the allegations are. If they are way off base... i.e. - its a differnt Syed Ali who owes the money as a way out example, it can take a long time to figure out where the story came from and what to say, especially if the BBC withholds sources, etc... After all, if he simply came out and said that the ownig rent charge is silly cause ne never lived there... it'd sound so silly that most would assume its a lie.

Any more news Nicko ?

Is the deal still on ?

This is way too important, big and delicate to go into any more detail just now.

It is one of those stories where you want and need to have the full picture.

A very good source has told me something pretty specific about devekpments over the last two days - I am pretty sure he is right. But I want a second source and few whys and wherefores before going to print on it.

Any chance you can say whether it's good news or bad news?

I know you can't say much but how long will it be before you will know the full picture ? By the end of the week ?

To be honest I'm not really fussed about whether this goes through.

If it does go through there'll still be permanent question marks for a long time about him for me anyway. I'd be happy that something's sorted though.

If it doesn't go through then it'll be a bit disappointed but I'll be mightily relieved that we didnt end up selling to a conman.

You are now in the final stage of grief - acceptance. Good job Mr. Gale, as most are in anger or denial still.

I wish I could feel anything but I am part of generation apathy, so who gives a f*%k.

Guys, patience and perseverance are key virtues especially in matters such as these.

I'm a great collector of phrases and my office is plastered with these - might be a tad trite but three of my favourites of some relevance :-

Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain.

The greatest oak was once a little nut who held its ground.

If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces, never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again.

Hopefully, we wont be waiting much longer.

Hear! Hear! Blackburn Rovers is way too important an institution to blast thru this process in the hopes of a flush future. Better rake thru all the coals so we are sure NOT to end up w/ a (fill in your own term). Perhaps I'm quite wrong --but a piece of me is hopeful of a negative resolution so we can get on with the process of vetting other interested parties. Perhaps not promising gazillions, but at least demonstrating elements that we can be comforted by---think warm, fuzzy blankets for 130+ year old founding members of the FA football clubs.

We've all learned lessions from Pompey, Man City et al and i am terrified of such a fate.

Any chance of an 11 o'clocker - or will this story take longer to piece together ?

That doesn't sound too good at all.

I must admit I felt a similar sinking feeling last night when I looked at the WGA accounts properly for the first time.

Does that billion supposedly loaned to WGA by Mr. Syed actually exist? I note the Company was initially started up with a relatively modest cash injection of 53k or something like that.

Having said that the auditors BDO who on Googling seem to be a reputable Company signed the Accounts off so surely both they and Rothschilds have seen definitive proof of Mr. Syed's financial status??????.

If he is genuinely a billionaire however and he acquired his wealth legally - let's hope it goes through - warts and all - if there are any that is.
