RevidgeBlue Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 GAME'S OFF! Not a reference to the takeover before anyone who wasn't around in snowy January starts panicking!
Hughesy Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 With three and a half hours left you're really sticking your neck on the line aren't you! No iv hardly been around today mate - then I got an email telling me that there will be no statement - didnt even know what it was about, Iv since just checked back the last 10 pages of people saying their will/ might be/ wont be. Dont think we will hear anything for a couple of days yet.
sam_rovers Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 This is becoming as frustrating as the tranfer window.. why cant things be more straight forward
MikeB Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 MikeB - a while ago you were certain that the takeover would definitely go through - with the Riverside being redeveloped next May - are you not so certain now ? DMTP, still confident that this will happen. If it was all over, we'd have known by now. I wouldn't undersetimate Ali - you don't accumulate $1b+ if you are a mug unless your accounts are signed-off by bent auditors!

You generally don't accumulate over a billion without anyone else in the entire world except for you and your accountants knowing about it either.

Iceman Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 There is NO planned statement from the club today, and there will not be one from the club today! Why should the club release a statement? Was it John Williams, that didnt pay his landlord? The statement should be coming, from Syed and his team, not the club.
sam_rovers Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 unfortunately I've read some of the crap that you post and that emoticon is much more appropriate for the stuff you've said
Torgeir Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 As long as the takeover is completed before the weekend, so we can laugh at the poor Man City fans, I'm easy.
rebelmswar Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 unfortunately I've read some of the crap that you post and that emoticon is much more appropriate for the stuff you've said I'm with your mom? Oh, and you edited your previous post, didnt notice. Sorry. This was what your original said right? - To Hughseys comment.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Can't understand why Syed wouldn't be genuine. Surely he has more to lose than gain. He gained alot of publicity when he announced his buy out plan and has now had some bad press. If the deal falls through his credibility will hit rock bottom even if he is proved to be genuine. He has also recruited the French chap Jean-Claude Darmon, who was being lauded as some sort of football marketing whiz - his reputation would also be on the line and I'm certain his services would not have been cheap. This lack of a rebuttal to the allegations is strange and as others have said he'll either come out with the club and quash the allegations by the end of the week or the deal is dead. I get the impression however that perhaps this other bidder/group have come up with a better plan and are well known enough to have the funds to carry it out. There has been alot of talk of action behind the scences so something is close. Does anyone know whether a third party could purchase the club without going through due dilligence process?
Amo Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Would Syed really have much rep to lose? No one appeared to know him before this.
S15 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Hughsey lad, pop Ali boy another text and ask him if he can afford a snow plough on top of that £300m for players.
RevidgeBlue Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 unfortunately I've read some of the crap that you post and that emoticon is much more appropriate for the stuff you've said That's you told Mr. Rebelmswar Sir. What was that old phrase about being savaged by a dead sheep again?
rebelmswar Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 That's you told Mr. Rebelmswar Sir. What was that old phrase about being savaged by a dead sheep again? I am broken up about it, my post makes no sense due to him edited what was originally there. I know what I say rarely makes sense. I am still trying to figure out if he actually read the sign or he wants me to do all the things I have said previously on this board to his mother.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 In which case what has he to gain from a few hours fame in the media spotlight befoe being completely discredited? As well as having to pay out a fair sum to the people he recruited to negotiate the deal.
broadsword Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 With three and a half hours left you're really sticking your neck on the line aren't you! Damn, I was hoping for a 2 am press conference and simultaneous webcast from a secret location in East Lancs. John Williams, Matthewman and Rothschilds advisers wearing balaclavas and aviators in front of a banner saying: "Ali al Akhbar". As they announce to the world that the BBC infidel shall pay for his wisecracks and they're going to poke him to death with cinnamon sticks, after making him eat jellied eels and liquor. Think I've been working too hard.
Andy Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I just think that it's all going ahead as planned and within timescale. Syed's spokeswomen said a couple of weeks ago that he'd done most of his press talking for now and once the deal is done, he'll come out and speak some more. I really can't imagine it'd have gone this far if a deal wasn't to be struck...
Amo Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Behind the scenes footage Sorry, couldn't resist.
beerwins Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Sorry, couldn't resist. Or it could go this way when he goes home.
Henwah Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Or it could go this way when he goes home. Could we tempt you into linking these on the 5 live page?
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 How long left until their exclusivity is over?
