Iceman Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 If the deal is off, then i would love to hear why. How did Syed get this far, and how did Rothchilds allow this to happen.

Guest Kamy100 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 It is VERY important that we wait for official confirmation before commenting further, without having facts it is not possible to know what is going on. I am trying my best to get someone connected to the bid to comment but at the moment no one is, I have put what I have heard to them and they have neither confirmed or denied it, which is weird because up until now they have been very happy to talk (they being Mr Ali's PR team).
Craigman Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Maybe he has failed the Prem League test and is the first one to do so, maybe we had agreed a deal and this is what has halted it. This would be a huge story.
Hughesy Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I would say that the majority of people are likely not to be happy if what I have heard is true. Tells its own story.... IF watty is correct & he doesnt have the funds then Roschilds need sacking right now! Surely that is the very 1st check they would do for any potential interested parties???
Backroom DE. Posted September 8, 2010 Backroom Posted September 8, 2010 If the BBC have turned out to be correct, the club will need a very good explanation from Rothschilds. It is pathetic that Syed would be allowed to get this far if he actually did not have the funds. Still hoping it's not true but...
JohnD Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 You're happy we stay skint whilst the rest of us rovers fans actually want the club to move forward... Albeit I admit I'd rather the right person take over or nobody takeover as opposed to someone who could jeopardise rovers. Doh! Yes what a good idea, let's have someone legal, decent and honest or noone at all.
Bobby G Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Lets see all those Aussies and mystery bidder stories fade away before you can say we've been left holding our balls again.
Dan Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 If Syed didn't have the money required, surely he couldn't have expected the deal to go through? If this is the case, why has he gone to so much trouble? If this deal hasn't gone through, we might be counting ourselves lucky. As the days go by, this guy seems mire and more like a fraud.
Wolverine Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 We could always approach Harsh Jain for funds?
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Is Julia Thiem on facebook? We could ask her on facebook messenger
Bobby G Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I thought it was clear that he did have funds to get this far. Otherwise who was he kidding and what would he have achieved if at the end he would end up not buying the club since he didnt have the money.
MikeB Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 OMG. A DAMP SQUIB ON THE TRANSFER FRONT FOLLOWED BY THIS NONSENSE. I'm knackered and deflated, a brandy, bed and a meeting at Turd Moor tomorrow. Someone is taking the p-ss!
niggit Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 MikeB, what happend to the deal is done and new stand been built in may then.
RevidgeBlue Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 As I've been saying for quite some time, I'd say that's far, far less believable than some people at our end getting things a bit wrong or them managing to hoodwink Rothschild's with creative accounting. I'll wait to see what the official word is before commenting in full but at this point I think you're being extremely charitable to Rothschilds with that comment.
Hughesy Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 This is way too important, big and delicate to go into any more detail just now. This is making me think more & more - have the prem rejected him at the fit & proper test stage????

Guest Kamy100 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 So much depression guys. Chin up guys it is not the end of the world. Wait for official confirmation before all of this, you never know it could be what I have heard is wrong, that is why it is important to get it confirmed officially.
BuckyRover Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 There are other bidders should it be necessary. Someone should PM Eddie.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Realistically, whatever the outcome, this isn't necessarily negative 1. If he buys the club (which seems doubtful based on the inference of tonights news) - great we have an owner with money 2. If we turn him down - he doesn't have the funds - and so we are probably best off as we are. Worse case scenario : He has money - but got sick of all the negative publicity around the deal

You shouldnt have said anything, there will be alot of beaten wives, kicked dogs, and sleepless fans tonight.
tony gale's mic Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I'll wait to see what the official word is before commenting in full but at this point I think you're being extremely charitable to Rothschilds with that comment. Oh no, if this all pans out how we think it's been an EPIC f**k up by Rothschilds. But financial institutions can f**k up as we all know, and as we know from Madoff individuals can completely hoodwink them - this would be peanuts in comparison. But even this f**k up in my eyes was more believable than this guy ever being a multi billionaire. Maybe not at first, but once I started to think it through it made no sense how he could make so much money and yet noone have heard of him.
