Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Could have dodged a bullet here, on the other hand though if we don't secure a backer by next summer I think our Premiership time may well come to an end. We can't possibly survive by spending zilch again.

Gus Gus Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 It isn't really because we are suffering a slow and painful death under the current owners. That's true if you think Premier League football is the most important aspect of supporting Rovers. For me, the most important thing about supporting Rovers is supporting Rovers.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 It isn't really because we are suffering a slow and painful death under the current owners. What he's saying is that if Mr Syed is dodgy and has lied to everyone then it's better to be under our current owners than some con artist who could cause the club a lot of problems.
tony gale's mic Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I think you guys have got off lightly here, think about it, Ali SYed doesn't have the money, it was smoke and mirrors which managed to get past Rothchilds and The trust. He was found out when he got to the fit and proper test, where he couldn't produce the funds, some sereous questions need answering at the club as to how he got that far? P.S I'm a Pompey fan Er no...you're a Rovers fan who's full of @#/?. http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php?showtopic=22517&view=findpost&p=859052 Now get to f**k. Moron.

For me, the most important thing about supporting Rovers is supporting Rovers. No no, it's just true if you have a brain. Reread it, it's nothing to do with anything other than what it says.
Dan Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 That's true if you think Premier League football is the most important aspect of supporting Rovers. For me, the most important thing about supporting Rovers is supporting Rovers. If we end up getting relegated, we might end up having no Rovers to support at all.

Exactly. Plus there appear to be other options available to the Trust.

rebelmswar Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 That's true if you think Premier League football is the most important aspect of supporting Rovers. For me, the most important thing about supporting Rovers is supporting Rovers. Whilst that is true, you have to also feel that the club is part of your family and you always want your family to do their best and succeed. I would Rovers if they were in the conference but I would wish them to succeed and be top of whatever they are doing. Just like I would love my daughter if she were to work in McDonands, but I will do everything I can to get her to a good school and hope that she does well.
Gus Gus Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 The club REALLY need to question the use of Roschilds if true!! IF he has been found out then im glad for the clubs sake, but IF he hasnt got the cash then Roschilds need sacking, especially after allowing them to check our accounts in detail!! How long ago was the beginning of the current financial crisis? Like, 3 years? Do you believe that it happened over night? Like one day, Bear Sterns woke up and realized it was bankrupt? Or do you think there was quite a bit of financial shenanigans going on combined with a rose tinted view of the future to perpetuate their 'solvency'? My point, of course, is that auditing isn't as easy as you seem to think it is.
BlueMonday Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Rovers Dunn in without Cash And midfielder Dunn admitted: "There's only so long we can keep up with the competition as money does talk."............. ........so me and my team mates are going to take a pay cut to help the club through the financial difficulties.......... NOT!
tony gale's mic Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 You should work for 5Live investigates Nah, everyone on here would just accuse me of having an agenda against Rovers and would try and get legal action instigated against me.
modes98 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Right so for all the speculation in the last few hours we are still no further forward, good good! Look forward to some proper news in the near future

IF he has been found out then im glad for the clubs sake, but IF he hasnt got the cash then Roschilds need sacking, especially after allowing them to check our accounts in detail!! Too right Hughesey - if true of course. I presumed that because he had been allowed to look at our books the financial side was not an issue. Now I'm not an accountant but when I read the WGA accounts for the first time last night they looked to me like the sort of scam document the organiser of a pyramid or MLM scheme might put out to lure mug investors in. I really hope Rothschilds had something other than that which persuaded them to recommend he be allowed to look at the books.

Come on though, we've raised our own doubts from doing a bit of googling, always balancing it with the hope that professional people might know things we don't. If it turns out we did a better job then something is wrong, or we need better jobs!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Watty's landlord has sent me this picture of his bedroom. Haha brilliant
RevidgeBlue Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 That's true if you think Premier League football is the most important aspect of supporting Rovers. For me, the most important thing about supporting Rovers is supporting Rovers. Well, Premier League level is the level that Jack Walker put us at and also the level we've operated at for what, sixteen of the last eighteen seasons. Not saying I wouldn't still go if were relegated but forgive me for not wanting to drop down from the level we are at now. Would you still be saying "Well it doesn't matter if we get relegated to Div 1" if we were in the Championship and so on and so on?.
Doaksie Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 That's true if you think Premier League football is the most important aspect of supporting Rovers. For me, the most important thing about supporting Rovers is supporting Rovers. Seems a bit petty to be playing the 'I'm a bigger fan than you' card. There's 121 of us on here at 25 past 12 on a week night discussing the possibility that someone has heard something about a takeover bid.The one thing that unites us all on here is we love Blackburn Rovers!
Backroom Tom Posted September 8, 2010 Backroom Posted September 8, 2010 For me the main annoyance is not that we won't be taken over but moreso that I think money was held back in the transfer window. Now we are left with no cash and no real upgrades.
Drakefyre Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Watty's landlord has sent me this picture of his bedroom. Are you sure that's not brfcrule1's?

Now we are left with no cash and no real upgrades. We wouldn't have got any money even if the takeover wasn't happening IMO. Or what we would have been given would have been so small that affording the 1.5M for Popov would have been a stretch.

Now we are left with no cash and no real upgrades. I honestly don't think money was held back because of any proposed takeover. The Club repeatedly stated it was business as usual. It was just that we couldn't get anyone in on our non existent budget.
