[Archived] Rovers Might Have Been Sold?

Recommended Posts

For me the main annoyance is not that we won't be taken over but moreso that I think money was held back in the transfer window. Now we are left with no cash and no real upgrades.

Good point - IF it does fall through then the fact we largely accepted the lack of spending due to the ongoing takeover becomes more of an annoyance

Worst case scenario is if all bids fail. If that happens then surely the Trust will see the benefit of investing a little money for transfers to ensure the club value doesn't drop drastically through relegation? Dependent on league position in January of course, but surely we can't risk another dried up summer like the one that just passed.

No need to start a great forum depression before anything official comes out though. Or until Sam says something he shouldn't have :P

Seems a bit petty to be playing the 'I'm a bigger fan than you' card. There's 121 of us on here at 25 past 12 on a week night discussing the possibility that someone has heard something about a takeover bid.The one thing that unites us all on here is we love Blackburn Rovers!

Yes I agree on all points. Sorry for coming across as a douche.

HOLD THE BACK PAGE.

Someone claiming to be close to the club has messaged me to say that the deal is still on. This is all very confusing, going to try again to get some sort of official confirmation. It could just be that deal has fallen down at the Premier League stage, if this is the case then Rovers and Mr Ali can try and fight it.

I would be very surprised, if the deal had hit the stumbling blocks at the fit and proper test. If the Trust were happy with Syed, then i can only think that the BBC have done Syed more harm by the story that they ran on him.

I forgot to mention that I am Mr Syed. Infact I forgot I was him which explains why I haven't released a statement.

The lapse of memory would also explain the unpaid bills.

On a more serious note, no matter what happens it should be good news for the fans. If he's a fraud, we've dodged a bullet and there are other buyers. If he's the real deal, we'll be in the clover and some of the "big" teams will begin to sweat. Either way, the club will be fine.

I don't know Imy, this is all unconfirmed at this stage. One possible reason could be that Goldberg was right about the CCJ, that could be reason enough for the Premier League to halt the deal.

Weird though, one why he has a debt of 70k and second why he had not paid it off?i am glad that he is being checked properly now, what are we paying rothschilds when the bbc have seemingly done a better job!

Finally no need to panic we have other interesting parties and we will be sold.

Maybe they found something while doing their due diligence? this may make us unattractive even to new buyers? i don't know im officially confused!

Think if the deal has collapsed, then a statement should come out today. Its no use this silence drags on for another week. Its getting rather silly now.

Imagine Syed turning up at West Brom, and wanting to buy them. Wonder what Goldberg will say then.

Seems we are all sleepless whatever time zone we are in.

I will make three observations

- I believe Rovers are in great shape on due diligence and there is nothing wrog with the club's records whatsoever.

- Some guy claims to know someone who works for WGA Sports AG in Switzerland - you might find nobody works for WGA Sports AG and the Zug address is currently an accommodation address until it gets staffed up...

- The Premier League has a history of internal organisational shambles and leaking badly

We may not like it at the moment but the probability is whatever the eventual outcome, Adrian Goldberg has done Rovers fans a favour. Either Ali Syed will come out guns blazing with his denial or he will mend some very careless ways and learn from the experience as Rovers' new owner; or there will be no deal with him and Rovers dodged a bullet which the Rothschilds flak jacket conspicuously failed to deal with.

That last part scares the ###### out of me Philip. Where does this leave Rothchilds? Do the club continue with them, or find somebody else. Its a big slip up by them, as Syed has gone through the club books, this is cause for concern.

However, had Syed been quiet, and done things differently, then the landlord and the BBC would not have known he was in town. I have to say, that perhaps Nicko was right, perhaps Syed did make far too much noise for his own good.

Remember that Rothschilds' not exactly been batting a 1,000 lately. think back to the last few takeovers...... not so good, right? Perhaps all of us have been guilty of false confidence in this outfit. I'm dying to find out where the deal fell by the wayside, it will speak volumes on JW's, the Trust's and Rothchilds' fitness.

Thanks for the calming words Philip... it's been a rocky summer/fall to be a Rover and i'm afraid this drama may run thru the end of the year :(

Have to say since "Flatgate" broke, the silence has spoken volumes about the situation in my opinion...

"There's no smoke without fire"

If it has fallen at the Premier Leagues fit & proper test, then good or else twelve months down the line who knows what state we could have been in, I'd rather watch Championship Rovers than no Rovers at all.

Unfortunately I have read every word on here and everything written on t'internet about this take over and I fail to see why suddenly everyone thinks its not happening. The BBC have a story that really doesn't amount to much - even the tabloids have ignored it - and yet our potential benefactor is seen as a dishonest / skint / fake etc. I don't get it.

I don't think I've ever seen so many jump to conclusions for no apparent reason.

'For no apparent reason?' You're clearly not the best at 'reading in-between the lines' are you?

Try having another read over the last few pages, particularly at Kamy's reaction to peoples disappointed reactions under the assumption that the deal have fallen through. You know, the one where he all but confirms that's what he's heard.

A blind man on a galloping horse could interpret what has been written by those 'in the know' around here, but if you're struggling, I'm sure one of the locals will spell it out for you.
