[Archived] Rovers Might Have Been Sold?

Recommended Posts

Rothschild's job is to bring together willing buyer and willing seller. Due diligence takes place where both parties demonstrate their bona fides. If someone else then comes along and says 'NO' at the handshake stage then why is that Rothschild's fault. It's like making all the arrangements for a kick-arse party then your parents say no.

It's all speculation right now so let's see how it pans out, but why the knee jerk reaction that someone is to blame and that they have a lot of explaining to do?

I agree totally with Philip, this experience will make us stronger either by securing a squeeky clean new owner or by us having ducked in time to dodge a bullet.

Time will tell if there are other serious bidders on the conveyor belt. I personally hope there are, but if not, keep calm and carry on.

Ok think that an apology is in order here, should not have posted what I did last night (not without official confirmation as I have done with everything else). It has just added to the confusion.

Well in all fairness to yourself, you did say it was'nt confirmed and people should'nt take it as gospel, dont beat yourself up about it.

It is a messageboard after all and you were only repeating what you heard.

...but we can't go on day after day like this.

Oh but I think we can and probably should. It occured to me the the other day that there really isn't much of a rush now.

The next transfer window doesn't open until January and the redevelopment of The Riverside can wait until the population of Blackburn doubles (so that'll be sometime after January).

"Quick! their exclusivity agreement is about to end" doesn't really cut it. I don't care. We need to ensure we get the right buyer and the right people. If it's not today, tomorrow or even two weeks on Friday I'm not overly concerned.

Some things Rovers can't and really shouldn't rush. I'm not unduly worried about the lack of comment on our part. That's how it should be done.

Weird though, one why he has a debt of 70k and second why he had not paid it off?i am glad that he is being checked properly now, what are we paying rothschilds when the bbc have seemingly done a better job!

Finally no need to panic we have other interesting parties and we will be sold.

not sure about definitely being sold, but otherwise - agreed.

The fact that your post has extracted a response / rollocking so quickly suggests that this board (and presumably others) is being viewed regularly by some of the 'players' in all this. Odd really.

btw With every little sniff of a rumour being done to death I'm continually impressed at the silence and discretion observed by our current owners not only now but also in the past. Admirable way to conduct business..... and a lesson to the likes of all gobby septics and Billy Big Time Indians out there.

Whatever fans' impression of the media's view of Rovers the one undeniable fact in all this is if there is a story it would be in the press.

Quite simply no media coverage means there is currently no story and so nothing to get excited about........yet.

Funny!

Im trying to get some info but its proving impossible - Something doesnt add up!

I liked it :xmas: I'm going with No Statement and we will still know nothing more by the end of the day, although I hope we do.

To help with your sums

Also might not be the best idea giving out Julia's contact details. If people want to find them then that's ok but god knows what mail she will be getting.

i just have this feeling, that the deal is still on. It cannot go this quiet, without a statement being released. If Syed is serious about this deal, then he will fight to the bitter end me thinks to make it happen. He also will want to clear his name, because if he fails because of the BBC allegations, then his WGA business will be under close scrutiny from all his clients.

Not to worry Kamy. I really don't think anyone is blaming you in any way. You have obviously carried out your duties in an honest and responsible manner all along. It is certainly not your fault that all this aggro and mis-information from the main players in this saga has broken out and left us all in a quandary.

That is my current thinking. No news is good news, until we hear bad news!

Hope you're right.

I must say my thinking has switched round to the fact that if the bid has failed because Mr. Syed doesn't have the money then Rothschilds have turned us into a complete laughing stock and Rovers will be trying to consider how to extricate ourselves from the situation with the least loss of face possible.

THe fact there has been no detailed rebuttal or explanation of the BBC allegations by now is surely significant. If I was at the Club, and I was satisfied with his explanation to me, I think I would have insisted on it. The allegations aren't even that important in themselves, but they're just indicative of the fact that he probably doesn't enjoy the financial status he claims. Goldberg might have unwittingly got his man for the wrong reasons.

I must say the way nicko described it as being a "delicate" situation and needing two sources before he could print anything and Kamy originally describing it as a "huge" story I'm expecting a fairly sensational ending - i.e. not just a mundane "Takeover fails to go through" but something like "Takeover fails because bidder actually has no money" or "Takeover fails because of conditions placed by the Trust no reasonable buyer will accept"

Something like that.

Well, have they let us down yet? And, frankly, have we got a choice?

Your post refers to the Trust-------have they let us down yet? The transfer window?--------the only club in the Premier League not to get any financial assistance from their owners?

There have been allegations though. Very publically aired allegations the nature of which most people would be keen to rebut at the first oportunity.

If they were untrue.

You call what the Glazers have done at ManU assistance? I certainly hope the Trust don't assist us in that was.
