[Archived] Rovers Might Have Been Sold?

Recommended Posts

Hope you're right.

I must say my thinking has switched round to the fact that if the bid has failed because Mr. Syed doesn't have the money then Rothschilds have turned us into a complete laughing stock and Rovers will be trying to consider how to extricate ourselves from the situation with the least loss of face possible.

I don't believe that this has really troubled any media organisations thus far...there's only us interested in it really...we get the odd small piece here and there, but to say we'd be a laughing stock is way over the top....

In fact, not selling out to some con-artist really sets us apart from the clubs like west ham, pompey and the like....

On the face of it this chap looks like he has some money(enough to purchase), but I suspect not enought to develop and bring the club on....better the devil you know I always say. :brfc:

Your post refers to the Trust-------have they let us down yet? The transfer window?--------the only club in the Premier League not to get any financial assistance from their owners?

No, my post refers to Rovers Board and their team. Not the Trust. Re-read what I actually wrote...

And let's not forget, that was after the manager netted them arond 16m in the transfer market 12 months ago.

Letting him spend 5m or so now to cover a glaring hole on the understanding it could be recouped up at a later date surely is far from unreasonable.

On the face of it this chap looks like he has some money(enough to purchase),

Does he though?

Kamy's info on this subject outstrips any other.

I do find it significant that Syed's team said they would deny the BBC stuff when he asked...and two days down the line they have said nothing.

Still waiting for my second source...it's as frustrating as it gets.

Are you referring to his info about things still being ON? Or a general reference?

I liked it :xmas: I'm going with No Statement and we will still know nothing more by the end of the day, although I hope we do.

Just for you - I have just heard back.

There will be NO STATEMENT from the CLUB today.....and despite speculation it looks like the news is jumping the gun about a failed bid..(Unless im being given a party line)...Still several interested parties in talks....Including Syeds team.....its a game of patience as the Trust take their time & do things properly.

Yup Rothschilds are playing a real blinder, we've been for sale for three years or more and so far they've managed to come up with Dan Williams, Saurin Shah, neither of whom seemingly had enough money to get to the due dilligence stage, and this chap who has been allowed to inspect the books. Whether he has the money to complete the purchase, well, the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.

Where did I mention Rothschilds? Rovers Board and their team, I.E. lawyers and support staff, will do the right thing for Rovers. I think we're entitled to trust them to do the right thing aren't we?

Kamy's info on the WHOLE subject has been excellent. There is no need for him to get the whip out and start lashing himself.

Unless that is a personal preference...

Eh?...Kamy hasn't brought any news that isn't already in the public domain...he's as in the dark as any of us....In fact he was the one talking this guy up, who now looks dodgy as anything....

Anything further from the Australian people interested in taking over the club? Are they still around and talking to the club?

You're completely wrong on that one Sparky marky. Kamy has built up a good rapport with the Syed people resulting in excusives for this site and Q and A's etc.

He's been very much on the button on this topic.

I think he deserves all the parise he's got on this subject.

Kamy can only pass on what he's been told, it's not his fault if the takeover does/doesn't go through, if Mr. Syed is skint or ends up being Jack Walker mark 2 or if he is usurped by another mystery buyer.

It was undoubtedly nice getting the breaking news from the Syed camp first. How much store can be placed on that eventually remains to be seen.

Totally agree. I do not know kamy, but from what he has posted it is obvious he knows what he is talking about. Been good that he has done his best to keep us all up to date. At the end of the day, he could have just kept everything to himself.

There is no reason what so ever for anybody on here to be critical of Kamy.

He can only report what has been reported to him. It is obvious, which Kamy has confirmed that a number of things are happening at the club right now with regards to the club being taken over. I cannot help feeling that the other group have been making silent progress, got the trust interested in listening to them. I therefore think that is what is holding things up with regards to Syed. The club are waiting to see the outcome of these other talks first.

I could be completely wrong of course. but to be critical of Kamy is wrong. He has been fair etc with us all on this subject.

You call what the Glazers have done at ManU assistance? I certainly hope the Trust don't assist us in that was.

Quite how that relates to my post I have no idea. The original was asking "when have the owners ever let us down?'

My reply was "in the transfer window" What have the Glaziers and Manu got to do with it?

EDIT----Yeah sorry, the original post did refer to the Rovers board and team. That's the problem with replying to posts 2 or 3 times removed! Having said that I'm not sure what the board has done or could have done that's relevant. This is the takeover

thread and the board is in the hands of the Trust isn't it? Still wondering where the Glaziers fit in!

If Mr Syed turns out to be a dud then the club and those with the club at heart will be perfectly entitled to question whether or not Rothchilds have sufficiently delivered given what I presume have been considerable fees.

What really worries me though is that Rothchilds are apparently responsible for lumbering Liverpool with Gillette and Hicks!

Kamy and nicko have been and are the public domain- they have been consistently ahead with everything.

Whereas your posts are consistently knee jerk.

Well, have they let us down yet? And, frankly, have we got a choice?

Well, we could always not trust them 100%? Doesn't mean we have any influence on the matter at hand, but it's a point of view. I'm not sure about the distinction between the board and trust. the trust own the club and have at least one representative on the board, do they not?

What I'm fairly sure of is that this guy got to due diligence and to get that far Rothschild's and the board/ trust must've been happy that he was a fit and proper prospective buyer of the club. What's come out into the public domain since is contrary to that. So I think we're entitled to ask what the hell is going on. Either what's come out is mud and we don't have the full picture, or the club is quite happy to let chancers kick a few tyres and try to take over.

It would help greatly if WGA were to make some sort of statement.

I was speaking to a Liverpool fan yesterday. What he thought about Rothschilds was nobody's business and certainly wasn't printable on here or anywhere else.

Dunno how interesting this is....

According to WGA's website their Swiss address is...

Baarerstrasse 82

Zug

CH-6300

Switzerland

On Google maps this goes here which is also the address of a company called zcapital (also set up in 2008). http://www.zcapital.ch/Key-Figures.38.0.html?&L=1

Now they could share the same building of course but no tag of WGA on the Google Map either. Unfortunatly no street view is available either...

Outspent by Blackpool, outbid by Gaz..... that well known Turkish outfit.

but who has a better team for that outspending?

We had a deal for Popov but decided against it because Roberts stayed, so we weren't outbid just pulled out of the agreed deal.

Just for you - I have just heard back.

Yay! I can rest easy knowing 100% that there will be no statement :P

I think alot is being read into the silence but that can be seen either way. Patience is a virtue and we have until January 1st to get investment sorted.
