Many billionaires are very secretive, but it doesn't mean they're not known about. Chuck Feeney, the Barclay brothers to name just two...they're hardly ostentatious, they shy away from publicity at all costs but they're still known about as in order to earn a billion you must have made some serious deals and become highly successful in your field.

Find me a web page about Abramovich that existed BEFORE he bought Chelsea, any news stories pre-dating 2003 will do.....I'll wait

Intruiging. I think we can say that the deal is still on. I'm not totally convinced, but do wonder how he can be worse than our current owners. I hope I don't find out

Wash your mouth out. We have had nigh on 20 years of football at the top level in this country.

For a bit of fun and enlightment, as the main sources, would Kamy, Philipi, Brownie, Hughesy & Nicko give us their understanding of the runners and riders and their respective odds for completing a takeover.

Come on guys, we all deserve this at the end of a bloody hard week.

1. No - they're in the same district (Nalgonda).

2. In England we don't have districts - we have counties (closest equivalent since Nalgonda numbers 3 million). And Blackburn and Burnley are both in the same county. So no.

3. The statement adds it as an afterthought as in that they happen to be in the same state - but Andhra Pradesh is absolutely huge. The fact they're right next to each other and Bhongir is the nearest closest town is completely ignored.

For the BBC to go looking in Bhongir for evidence of the family's reputation when they're from a village just down the road is reasonable - yes or no?

If the records are not in the place where they looked, the BBC looked in the wrong place. You are not going to find those three wealthy Preston families looking in Blackburn are you?

And if you are seriously wealthy living in a country with a problem with kidnapping and ransomes, you cover your tracks very thoroughly indeed.

Quite true, through very hard work by good chairmen and exceptional managers juggling air for funds – since Jack passed.

Except for Ince, and Hughsey never got back to me about those litter trays and effigies.

A repsonse to my question on Facebook

"That's the full statement we were asked to publish. The rest of the letter we received is clearly marked 'strictly confidential - not for publication or broadcast'. We've replied to the lawyer to acknowledge our receipt of the letter and statement, and to notify them the online article has been updated."

Asked to publish? Making them update the page?

Sounds like a nasty letter.

No, because I can't read Russian. Most mass media in India is written in English due to the number of languages there, however most mass media in Russia is written in Russian. Additionally Google will always bring up the most recent results in its searches.

However:

By 1996, at the age of 30, Abramovich had become so rich and politically well-connected that he had become close to President Boris Yeltsin, and had moved into an apartment in the Kremlin at the invitation of the Yeltsin family. In 1999, and now a tycoon, Abramovich was elected governor of Russia's remote, far eastern province of Chukotka, and has since lavished £112 million (€ 132 million) on charity to rebuild the impoverished region. The identikit image being pieced together for us was of a self-made man who was not only powerful and wealthy, but acutely aware of those who had done less well in the tumultuous 1990s, when the Soviet Union fell.

If you seriously think there wasn't large amounts written about this man in Russia before he took over Chelsea you must be insane.

OK pure fun and don't ask me why:

Syed 60%

Nicko's Indian Billionaire 20%

News of the World's ozzies 10%

the mystery striker 8%

Saurin Shah 1%

No sale 1%

Stuck my neck out as far as TGM has been doing with that!

Over to the other guys now!

As most people are being really pedantic, I'll throw one in. Blackburn is an unitary authority and only part of the ceremonial county of Lancashire! Thats why you see signs saying 'welcome to Lancashire' when the leaving the town.

If those families in Preston were billionaires, people would still know all about them in Blackburn.

You might cover your movements and hire top notch security, but you'd still be known about if you had a billion. Or are you suggesting that the many, many declared billionaires in India are just being ostentatious and careless because people know they have a billion?
