As an educated guess how long would due diligence take with a club like ours.

City W ham and Pompey I would have thought quite complicated as clubs go but for differing reasons.

Rovers I would think it's pretty much blue and white I'm guessing the ball park figures have been discussed and agreed in principle.

The reason I'm asking is we have 11 weeks left to the start of the season, then a further 4 weeks or so to the end of the window.

As we know Sam said, he wanted business concluded early.

I'm assuming if the deal is completed quite quickly, Sam's targets would change, then again I'm assuming there will be more money available.

They arent looking to waste time, and they have pedigree and have been here before, so to speak. Do they have the background we want to own our club, I really dont know. In fact, their "background" is very difficult to assess.

Out of curiosity, why are you holding back what you say you know. I am not trying to be critical, just find it strange that people are saying they have heard this and that about a takeover, yet holding the information back. Not saying you have not heard anything. Just wondering why if you don't want to say too much, I do not understand why you have written the few bit of info you have. Why did you not just keep it to yourself and wait for the situation to develop. Please do not be offended by this post as it is not my intention, I am just curious.

I am not trying to "fuel" the fire so to speak, but am just putting out a bit of "info" here in the public open cause sometimes some people can verify, add to it or refute it even. Its good to share, as it suddenly has transpired that Iceman too has somewhat heard some of the stuff I have and from a completely different place and angle. I dont think Ive said enough to jeopardize anything cause Ive kept some details in confidence, but at the same time I have ran it privately by a person or two who can maybe look into it deeper since they are better positioned to do so from where they are at than I am.

You would expect publicity seekers to let it leak though, this seems to be being kept well away from the media.

I would hope it stays that way, a leak now could put millions onto the potential targets fees.

I think Nicko said that one of the intermediaries was a tool not the potential buyer himself.

Have you considered that it is just people wondering what has been heard within the media. Hence people like myself asking about Nicko. Where we're really at is, somebody has posted a little imfo about a possible Rovers takeover or investment. This was yesterday. So the rest of us are curious to learn more - only natural in my opinion.

I dont know about nicko, as he probably has his own stuff to do, but at the risk of fueling anything, Ill say the following, cause Ive heard some more stuff to give me a stronger all round sense of it all'.

The link is very very real and happening. By happening it does not necessarily mean that our club will be bought. It just means very interested people with decent money are exploring the purchase of the club. They are doing so ahead of a number of other potential PL clubs too. They will at the very least meet with the decision makers at our end soon. Whether that heads towards an offer, I wouldnt know and neither would any of the two sides.

I know some people might be thinking whats the point of posting this in the first place if not too much is being told, but just like Ive been on the receiving end of reading "gossip" or "rumors" or "news" on this board, I know Id like to be aware of things rather than not. People who know me on here know that I dont usually post things like this either. So there must be a little "catch" .
