[Archived] Rovers Might Have Been Sold?

Nicko, is Nathanial part of a group to buy Rovers? Or is he just, the middle man in putting together a deal? Reading that article, about who he represents, he surely knows how to put a deal together. His negotiation skills, must also be good if he can pull all those names. I would between the 2, be more comfortable with Nathanial. However, its not what i expected, but will be very interesting to see where both parties will get their money from.

He almost killed them. As soon as the bulk of his assets were frozen (which they still are if not actually seized!) he stopped all funding and the club were relying on loans from the previous directors to pay the wage bill. How much money does he actually have left now? Surely what he does have he is keeping hidden to stop it being seized so is hardly likely to blow it on another football club.

Seized 1 billion, circa 600m he has been allowed to keep, ??? could it be used to buy an EPL club, we'll see. ;)

Quick diversion from theme - Asian heritage is the term schools use to cover all children whose families are of Indian pakistani Bangladeshi etc origin.

Quick answer to your diversion.

Thats statistically incorrect and fundamentally flawed gumboots. Might be pedantic but if you put all the people of asian heritage into a big sack, shoved your hand in and pulled one out the odds are that it would have yellow skin and narrow eyes.

I suggest the education authorities need to spend more time on their homework. ;)

No one said Thaksin is involved in the bid for the club.

"a Thai group with links to ex-Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra." that's close enough for me, until proven otherwise.

Don't think this follows.

Thaksin is a politician- suppose Gordon Brown had bought a Thai football club, would you have bought the shirt?

No I could never have afforded to cos he'd have taxed me blind in order to give everybody in the public sector one free. :glare:

If there is Indian involvement in a take-over and it succeeds and, as a result, a large number of Indians become regular Rovers followers I will be delighted.

Ditto..........

I hesitate to get involved in this part of the discussion because it has nothing to do with the take-over and wished I hadn't chucked in a throwaway line in the first place.. The 2001 census is old now but if you say its still accurate then I believe you.

I totally agree with your revised comments, 2000 new supporters are always welcome.

Also my last worm out of the can. :D

Can we please keep this topic based on the potential takeover bids please.

There is absolutely no need to take it off down a debate about races.

you do realise that they can refer to a singular person don't you?

for example you could say 'if a person wishes to go to the toilet they will have to wait until the coach stops'.

pretentious cock

Was that necessary? I didn't use bad language toward you did I?

I agree, I would be surprised if he would pass the prem's fit and proper person test today. Was he not prosecuted in Thailand and convicted. Has there not also been a number of other allegations about him.

Sometimes the no smoke without fire, saying should give us suspicions.

Here here!, it's hardly moving forward fast. ;)

I couldn't find the relevant topic, so I'll post it here.

I'm hearing a rumour the club may have found a potential buyer from the United Arab Emirates.

There's a whisper going round the journalist fraternity in the North West that a deal has been done or is on the table.

I know little more than that at this stage and stress it is a (second hand) rumour.

To save me reading through all one thousand plus posts could anyone please tell me if anything at all of relevance has been posted since this - and before this post disappears into the ether what the hell the moderators are playing at??

Looks like a two horse race at this stage 67SS. The whole issue is only at the starting gates, and there has already been a stewards enquiry. -_-

Not going to take any credit for this , found this on the Bbc message board what a Rovers fan had posted.

And no before anybody asks it wasn't Vinjay.

From what i can tell Chris Nathaniel is quiete a solid chap. He has represented quite a few of the biggest sportsmen in the world and is a 'up and comer'...

As for the group linked with Thaksin Shinawatra, i think they were originally interested in taking over Man City from the ex Thai Primeminster but were outpriced by Man City.

There are two interested parties at the moment, both have been in touch with club, both yet to prove how much they have and where it is coming from.

Cowboys. Time wasters.

Interested Party: "Hello, John? I'm representing a consortium who would like to buy Blackburn Rovers."

John Williaims: " *here we go again* OK. That's great news! So long as you don't have anything to do with that Thaksin Shinawatra?! Ha Ha Ha! Sorry, that would be ridiculous. Anyway how much money do you have and where is it coming from?"

IP: "I can't tell you that at the moment, I certainly can't prove anything anyway."

JW: " *sigh* Goodbye."

and who the hell has yellow skin?

Williams in talks with this guy?

Strange article, Nicko called them 'mystery bidders', yet names them?

For some strange reason, Nicko also mentions no debt. Surely, we have some amount of debt at the moment

Posted

On some counts, there is £3bn of debt in the PL. That is £150m per club.

By those standards, we have no debt worth speaking of.

He doesn't exactly name them though does he.. he says one set of bidders is Indian and one set is Thai
