The article says a target of mid July if the deal was to go through smoothly

Wonder where this leaves Big Sam with his striker search?

Is it worth holding off on Benjani until late July then going for Torres? :D

It is possible that Sam's holding off given that there could be an early takeover.................isn't it? No point in loading up with cheapies if he could do better. I live in hope!

I have to conclude seeing this I hope it does go through as it will boost attendances from the Asian population in the area and seeing as I'm Indian it would be good and he would be able to connect with the wider asian community and seeing as he is good marketing brands overseas it will help our merchandising streams out there I think it could be good for this club. Now it's fingers, thumbs, toes crossed this goes through.

I thought I would share some info might give some insight into the finances of one of the individuals Mukesh Ambani

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mukesh_Ambani

it would seem as tho he is 4th richest person in the world owns an IPL club Mumbai Indians so it looks as tho he will be able to put his hand in his pocket for transfers!

Night all.

If this has brewing since before the Arsenal game, I'm not surprised all the potential signings have been put on the back burner. Was the Lewandowski business not ushered into the corner around that time.

You missed the last bit SG. Here I'll repeat it for you.....

"I know people will be queuing up to criticise so I'd ask you not to reply unless you have a better proposal for the future of football in this area. Constructive comments rather than stereotypical criticism please."

Off you go..... :tu:

btw I'll not hold my breath. :P

The only useful purpose *anky United would serve to me would be to fill the void left by the obviously departed Dingles. Delighting in their trials and tribulations would be the new pass-time at the home of Blackburn AFC. I would treat their followers as quisling detritus ... I would not be alone.

I really love the theory of this increasing our revenue streams in Asia significantly but I really struggle to see how it would do so significantly. Most shirts sold on the subcontinent are fakes anyway. Most of our revenue streams from Asia come from the TV deals which won't be affected by who owns us. Sorry to be downbeat about this but I'm struggling to see any tangible benefit to our current arrangement and very possibly things could get a lot worse.

You could be right, however this would be a HUGE story for the Telegraph if the club came to them with it so the print run could be adjusted.

Besides they put out various editions throughout the day so that they can reflect breaking stories if there are any

I also think that it would be india where they would make their money. Owning and making rovers successful, would be their tool for doing so. The various articles have indicated that india is basically an untaped market for EPL - but once more games are seen in India the interest in the EPL would grow. So for Rovers to be one of the first teams to get the profile over there, would be good for Rovers and good for any Indian business in India, involved with the promoting of the EPl interest in India.

Then there is Blackburns local Indian population, as well as surrounding areas, including those who wear green and yellow hats and scarves, the attraction of cheaper season tickets etc.

The publicity tonight does not surprise me to be honest. Often excitement can boil over and maybe something has been overheard and printed in the papers - but not nessasary leaked to the press. After all there are no direct comments from either party - if I remember the articles correctly.

You maybe surprised about malaysia. I often go to penang in malaysia. even though a lot look out for man U scores / matches on TV. There is also an attitude of supporting the underdog. I know of about 6 Rovers supporters in Penang itself.

Wrong end of the stick me thinks.

I was referring to the amount of EPL games shown rather than support.

I'm not sure if they (True vision is a Thai company)supply the sat links for Malaysia or they have their own Sat company.

So they do in China too - doesnt Stop United making mega money from there though!

Shirt sales, merchandise, sponsorship, big payday friendlies...it all counts. It might also help to attract more fans in the UK

So why would he do that then nicko?

Cant answer for nicko, but one would have thought, get their names out into the public domain and whislt they mull over the books everyone can begin diiging what these guys are all about, the good, the bad, and the indifferent, and see what comes up to test their credentials and worthyness to take Rovers forward.

To be fair nobody has even made it this far in the past - so perhaps thats a good sign!!

Really have to wonder if the removal of the Walker sponsorship links in too!!

In Phuket is a large shopping mall, within are two EPL club shops, Manu U and Arsenal, when the mall opened two years ago they were jammers for the first week or so.

Outside the stores around the perimeters of the walk ways are small stalls within a month they totally changed their merchandise to snide Man U and Arsenal merchandise with a sprinkling of other top European Clubs shirts Etc..

I visit that Mall twice a week, (European food market) the small stalls are making a packet, the official stores, well, normally the staff are either cleaning the windows, or sat in the back of the shop messaging on their mobiles to their friends.

The other forms of revenue you mention may well reap rewards.

Mixed emotions for me right now. I'd rather stay how we are now and continue grafting our way through than have someone buy us out who we have little information on. The pressure will be mounting each season though on the Trust to sell as the demands of this league increase.

Major credit should go to John Williams for the way he has handled our club over the years since Uncle Jack has left us. He has made a few errors, but all in all he has done a tremendous job for our club. Appointing Hughes and Allardyce were 2 of his best choices, and without them 2 managers, we'd be in a lot of trouble right now.

Fingers crossed these lot actually care about the fans and don't just try to make a quick buck on us.

If the Indian billionaire is the potential buyer, I think we will be doing very well compared to other potential buyers. The man is loaded, a shrewd businessman and something of a philanthropist. Their general thinking appears good. All in all, we as a club may do VERY well.
