Mixed emotions for me right now. I'd rather stay how we are now and continue grafting our way through than have someone buy us out who we have little information on. The pressure will be mounting each season though on the Trust to sell as the demands of this league increase.

Major credit should go to John Williams for the way he has handled our club over the years since Uncle Jack has left us. He has made a few errors, but all in all he has done a tremendous job for our club. Appointing Hughes and Allardyce were 2 of his best choices, and without them 2 managers, we'd be in a lot of trouble right now.

Fingers crossed these lot actually care about the fans and don't just try to make a quick buck on us.

My thoughts exactly. I'd hate for a new ownership group to come in and undo all the good work that's been done at Blackburn. One of my biggest worries is the potential link to the IPL - that's such a crap competition. I want nothing to do with it.

Oh and the headlines write themselves don't they - BollEwood. Oh dear.

I'd imagine he's at the time of life where he'd jump at the chance of a big fat payout. I would.

Quite possibly, though I can see the sense of them making it worthwhile for him to stay on given all the contacts he must have built up in the Premier League.

However, whether or not the marketing would be left in the hands of his son, whose Roladex doesn't seem to stretch beyond Hollins Road let alone to Mumbai, is open to question.

Ok iv just got this from my mate at the club - no word of a lie!! Same source as all the financial stuff which JW more or less confirmed yesterday, so believe it or dont - its just choice - 100% honest truth!

Here is the status -

There has been a bid. No decisions have been made, also, there have been no lockouts and we are not at due diligence stages or anything like that yet.

But there HAS been an official bid

Also the removal of walkersteel has nothing to do with the ownership of the club, simply a deal that was coming to an end has happened. Nothing sinister and the Trust actually have very little do to with the new company.

To be fair Hughsey it does say there has been a faxed bid on the LET website.

IN this mornings paper they said they believe one may be faxed today or may already have been - which meant they sounded unsure.

I can say 100% we HAVE receieved a bid, No due diligence has been done, and no 1st refusal etc has been agreed. I dont see that on their site do you?

We are going to be sold on at some point, trust the Board to go with the best offer for the clubs future including potential to bring in new investment, PR skills etc.

Unless EPL change the rules very quickly all the teams will be owned by foreign investors looking to exploit the global marketing opportunities that the EPL brings just from the sheer volume of its audience worldwide. If the current bid being talked about is from who it appears to be then they will see Rovers as an opportunity to market their indian interests to a very wide audience. If you look past the mega money being thrown at Man City to buy players thats exactly what UAE companies are doing there.

Personally its the first approach that's made any sense to me. Whether it will happen or not is another question. Got to say I would follow Rovers playing at any level, but without some fresh owners soon we will be fortunate to stay in the EPL past the next 3 to 5 years.

To be far to Hughesy even on the live chat thingy, Cryer said he wasn't sure about a bid as yet.

Looking forward to him asking this shah, chap some Q's as since we seem to nothing about him or his "group" I'm a little wary of all this at present.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/blackburn/article7147855.ece

Shah approached brokers in London about buying a Barclays Premier League club in April and quickly settled upon Blackburn after learning that the town has a large Asian population as well as historical links to the textile industry. According to the 2001 Census, 14.3 per cent of Blackburn’s population is of Indian origin, with a further 11.5 per cent of Pakistani origin.

Basically we're in danger of becoming another soulless commodity like Manchester City, except without even a 10th of their resources. Portsmouth, anyone?

Those that don't see much wrong with modern football will be ok with this, but for me we have to fight this tooth and nail to the very end. Uncle Jack's legacy is not for sale.

Jack wanted whatever was best for this club to be successful at the highest level! Times change, we have to move on. The clubs needs to be sold in order to keep up. The club blatantly needs some financial backing as the current owners have pretty much, given up. So just give it a rest. I think it would frustrate Jack more to see how we are no longer contenders with the very best!

The daily mirror actricle on the rovers takeover.

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Blackburn-Rovers-takeover-Indian-businessman-Saurin-Shah-targets-25m-deal-article457909.html

He might been good for the club has long he's got the money to buy the club with his OWN money and not a loan against the club. Would improve the commerical side of the club with Asian links he's got. Hopefully Big Sam would have more money to spend on the players he wants. We all don't want a pompey situation at the club. I don't think John Williams, the board and the trustees would allow us to be took over by somebody who would do the club.

Shah is little known in India, no background about this company coming up or the financial resources that he has. Apparently his Uncle is a big wig within the IPL. Trying to check with people I know in India about him and his company.

The Trustees/Rothchild's will not be happy that this has gone public, these kind of things have to be managed properly, now Rovers will be forced into making talking about this, would not surprise me if they do this via the Lancashire Telegraph tomorrow.

You admit to knowing very little about this Shah Kamy, even those in Mumbia seems to know little of him and that worries me.What is he planning with his connection to the IPL?

''Shah's uncle is vice-president of the Indian Premier League and he dreams of marrying the glitzy form of cricket with Blackburn and its sizeable Asian population.''

why does this connection between IPL cricket and Blackburns Asian population keep being mentioned....THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT THE FUTURE OF BLACKBURN ROVERS FOOTBALL CLUB!

THIS CLUB BELONGS TO THE TOWN OF BLACKBURN AND ALWAYS WILL,WHOEVER THE OWNER IS

So we should die a slow painful death with the trust in charge? Self sufficient is all well and good, but the first time we dont hit a position or the hiring, firing of a manager our best players will be sold to balance the books, slowly leaving us in a worst state.

We need investment.

Clearly we need to be bought out to sustain premiership football. I reckon out of all the possible buyers, this bid will possibly present us with the most marketing value. The Asian link is certainly an angle which we can go down and provided the cash can materialise im genuinely quite keen for it to happen. This isnt somebody coming in simply to own a club for the sake of it, its somebody who actually wants to expand the brand in probably the only area we would stand a chance of globally selling ourselves.
