I dont like some of the negative sway on this thread and I agree, there are issues which need clarifying and explaining.

True, we need more details to make a more accurate opinion.

Think some are always going to be naturally sceptical, me included. Remember, we had the delightful experience of Danny 'die hard fan' Williams trying to buy the club - that received a bit of coverage at the time and look where that ended up - where is he by the way, anyone know?

In relation to Shah, even those from/based in India have not heard of him and until we know who his 'backers' are and where the money is going to come from, personally, I am going to treat this with pessimism.

I wish he would stop saying parochial. It's clearly his favourite word. Perhaps he thinks that by using it he achieves some sort of pseudo-intellectualism and people won't treat his rantings like the farts of a babbling buffoon. He doesn't, and they will.

He still goes to some games and sit in the riverside stand. Still live in the USA tho.

The negative stigma I keep referring to is the lowlife racist chanting from our minor moronic element.

This small element of morons is the only reason we dont have many more of our Asian supporters coming to the club and if we could eradicate (or some could easily suggest eliminate) this then that factor alone would be enough to have more Asian fans coming to games.

In recent times we have seen a growth - a steady positive growth of Asian fans at Ewood, this is both in the younger element and the older element. A new Asian owner coupled with losing the morons could easily put 2000 extra fans in the ground, maybe even more once the message that Ewood Park is moron free from racist elements.

Its time to rid ourselves of the idiots who refer to our Asian neighbours in the manner they do.

Interesting one this - realise this is stating the obvious, but it is make or break for us getting a deal. A dodge owner and we're really stuffed, but some decent funds, coupled with our good management, could nail our long term future. It's one heck of a gamble, with everything we hope for and fear being the two possible outcomes.

To me, I think we won't get many better opportunities then this. After all there aren't many reasons to go for Rovers over other clubs, unless you are a fan. With these guys it seems clear what the attraction is - the Indian market - which, whilst I'm undecided over the fesibility of it, at least eases the suspicion of asset stripping or the like. Added to the restrictions in who can take over in place, it seems like it'll be very difficult for someone undesirable to get their hands on the club.

On the other hand my reservations are that these guys a) don't seem to know a lot about football, and B) if it doesn't work - which I think it has a strong chance of not doing - they'd drop us pretty quickly, possibly to worse owners.

However, though I have my doubts abouth whether this will work, I DO think that if we are to grow, we need to expand into a relitavely untapped area. The low season ticket prices are part of this, but ultimately we need more. There are very few possible untapped potential pockets left, the India links being one of them. So realistically even with the doubts I have, I'm not sure we'll see a better opportunity for growth. I'm not sure Rovers can afford to miss an opportunity like this.

One things for sure - I'd rather have the trust and the restrictions on who they can sell to in place making the decision then pretty much any other club's board/owners.

Another few years and India will be a very wealthy nation - I actually think they might overtake China in the not too distant future. Looking long-term this might be a very good move. I'm only saying might though!

I don't know how you would define "major" in this context but those issues are hardly confined to that part of the world are they? I notice you ignored the "major" question I asked you.

Truth is it might be inevitable but I'm not in favour of anybody buying BRFC who cannot find Blackburn on the map without Google earth and who never even heard of BRFC until a few months ago. Reason is I cannot help querying the motives behind it.

Sorry if that's not the answer that you were digging for 47er but it's the truth.

I don't think anyone is, but the plain fact is, if it makes business sense to the Trust they will give it the green light. It won't matter what they know or don't know about the traditions, heritage or whatever of the club. If they have the money and can prove it, they will get the club. We may doubt their motives; we may winder how honest they are; we may fear for the future of our club, but nothing we can do will stop it happening. I can't see the point in worrying about something you can't change or stop. Will you still be at Ewood next season whoever owns the club. Thought so. So will I despite my reservations, despite my concerns about certain players, the manager, the owneers or whatever. I'll be there, and while we are it is still our club regardless.

every article i have read over the takeover has had vinjay posting on them, what is that guys problem,he takes being an internet troll to a new level :angry2:

And everything he posts is vitriol against the Walker family and what he perceive as their bad handling of our club. You'd think he'd get sick of pouring out such bile wouldn't you?

Disagree. They are moronic low lifes but to be honest our IndoPak community does have much more affinity with Man Utd... and don't tell me that they dont have moronic fans.

For all Rovers fans this news of a take over (by anyone outside Blackburn really) is a Heart or Head question.

In my Heart I'd prefer a new Uncle Jack, a Rovers fan, to materialize and pour in "Loads Of Money" like the blue skies days of the'90s. But in my Head I know there isn't one out there.

I want Rovers to stay in the premier league, to be comfortable in the table and if possible to mount a realistic challenge for a top 6 place or one of the cups, to enjoy a few more European adventures and make a bit of progress. I want to go down to Ewood feeling positive and excited and feeling we're going to win, not hoping we don't drop any points.

In my Head I know that if Rovers are to move on and make progress, we need new investment. IF these guys from India are genuine and I really hope the club check out their credentials and business plan. This could be a big opportunity for Rovers, in my head I hope it works out for the best.

And for all the silly people who bring the ethnicity aspect into it, just look what misery our American "cousins" have caused Liverpool and Man U. Give me a well backed and smart Indian business any time !

I have to say I agree with most on here Vinjay takes this takeover as a major obsession. I would not even know what he looks like so have probably not seen him at ewood. I have to say he is right and wrong on 2 statements he is right in stating the obvious that has to be taken into account without extra funding there is only one way we will go even I believe JW said this when the last accounts were published. I think though to attack the Walker family to say they have held us back is disrespectful and the Trust have done one thing right would we want them to sell to anyone and end up in another situation like the glazers at Man U or another Pompey. One thing he does not look at when it comes to the Walkers Jack was one of them and look how much joy he brought to Blackburn?. I think Vinjay needs to be more respectful towards our owners and not have as much hate towards them because without them we would be nowhere near the top league.
