Kelbo Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 KEEP THE BLUE FLAG FLYING HIGH. On our way now into deep, dark, dingle land!! I live close to Dingle land, they are almost all Dingle fans, a defeat today and I wont be going to the pub,so it would be a takeaway meal, windows and curtains closed, mobile turned off bottle of wine, kick the dog and sulk !!!!! Now if we win, pub, good afternoon out celebrating, have a pub meal, then home to watch MOD 2 and gloat again!!
bonerdude Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 I live in burnley and shall be watching in the relative safety of my home....cant wait....come on you blues
Aberdeen Blue Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 How I envy you lucky Rovers who are attend this match! Come on Rover's, make us proud and show these inbreds why we are the Pride of Lancashire. Send them back whence they came! COME ON YOU BLUE'S
Bobby G Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 I echo what Dunny says in that I hope we beat them but they stay up cause it would be good to have this derby to look forward to. If they go down, they wont be coming back anytime soon that's for sure.
Blue blood Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 My oppinion of Cumbria has just gone down a notch - EVERY pub is showing the Carlisle-Southampton JP Trophy final (which overlaps) instead of us. Talk about warped sense of priorities. Fortunately have found a way of watching the game - so come on rovers let's hammer them. I've a feeling it'll be a long time before we play them again, in the league at any rate.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 The team that keeps it's head today will have a massive advantage. The pressure on the Dingles is massive. We could do with another Ball type ridiculous " I'll run the bath water" type tackle. Difficult decisions to be made by Big Sam, could be won and lost on team selection. Come on Rovers.
Paul Mellelieu Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Butterflies, dry mouth. I hate these matches.
Bobby G Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Roberts starts instead of Nico and Givet in for Andrews who isnt in the 18. Pedersen central midfield, with Olsson and Diouf on wings.
Sysagent Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Sh1t, showered and shaved... Ready for the Pub! Christ talk about butterflies. :-/ Cmon ROVERS!
Balwer Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Roberts starts instead of Nico and Givet in for Andrews who isnt in the 18. Pedersen central midfield, with Olsson and Diouf on wings. You get this on the text? I can't find team news anywhere yet.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 So is that. Brown Salgado Samba Jones Givet Diouf Emerton Dunn Pedersen Ollsen Roberts So is that. Brown Salgado Samba Jones Givet Diouf Emerton Dunn Pedersen Ollsen Roberts Sorry Nzonzi foe Emmo.
Blue blood Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Not a bad tean. Would have had Kalinic in for Roberts, as I've a feeling that he'll get lots of chances vs a shakey Burnley defence. I'd also have had Emerton in, in the centre, but I guess he's been a bit off form, and it's great that we can leave players out when they aren't in form. Much happier seeing Olsson at left mid (where I think he's very good) as oppose to left back (which I always think is risky.)
Exiled_Rover Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Roberts is better suited to the 'big lump upfront' style of striker Allardyce seems to love. Better for Kalinic to come off the bench later on in the game.
Balwer Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 If that's the team I am ok with it, Givet back in defense will mean three vets to help out Jones and he's better defensively than Ollson, although not as good going forward. Hopefully the trio of Dunn, Diouf and Ollson will generate enough creativity to compensate for Roberts over Kalinic. I think Niko might have started if Dunn hadn't? Just a guess. Feels like Sam doesn't want to lose this first and foremost, and can do enough to pinch a win.
Blue blood Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Looking at the bench we've a heck of a lot of good options as well. Emerton can come on and add a lot of energy to the midfield, and with Junior, Kalinic AND Di Santo on the bench if - God forbid - we are trailing to the dingles - we have a lot of attacking options to bring on, all offering something different, which could really hurt the dingles. Wish Robbo was fit though.
Amo Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Roberts is better suited to the 'big lump upfront' style of striker Allardyce seems to love. Better for Kalinic to come off the bench later on in the game. Yet, more often than not, it works better the other way around. Roberts is a more effective sub than starter.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Yet, more often than not, it works better the other way around. Roberts is a more effective sub than starter. True, he's always better as a sub. Like I said Sam's had some hard decisions to make, let's hope he's got them right.
Wolverine Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Confirmed from official site match blog: ROVERS: Brown, Salgado, Samba ©, Jones, Givet, Diouf, Nzonzi, Pedersen, Olsson, Dunn, Roberts. Subs: Bunn (GK), Emerton, Grella, Kalinić, Hoilett, Di Santo, Chimbonda. DINGLES: Jensen, Alexander ©, Duff, McDonald, Fletcher, Paterson, Elliott, Mears, Cort, Nugent, Jordan. Subs: Weaver (GK), Carlisle, Blake, Thompson, Eagles, Fox, Cork.
grizfoot Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 I suppose it's quite an attacking team to say it 4-5-1. Dunn and Pedersen capable of breaking from central areas and with Olsson playing further forward.
Backroom DE. Posted March 28, 2010 Backroom Posted March 28, 2010 Come on Rovers... let's smash the inbreds and send them into despair
Exiled_Rover Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 We shouldn't have worn white shorts. It makes player recognition a little more difficult.
