Backroom DE. Posted March 28, 2010 Backroom Posted March 28, 2010 Diouf is sooo slow. He looks like he's running in quicksand.

Exiled_Rover Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Nugent's asking to die. You don't mess with Salgado.
Amo Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Diouf is sooo slow. He looks like he's running in quicksand. That's cause he's really 35.
TrentVilla Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 The idiots at BBC calling it a "definite dive". Er it was.
S15 Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 The idiots at BBC calling it a "definite dive". Would you have gone with 'blatant' instead of 'definite?'
Backroom DE. Posted March 28, 2010 Backroom Posted March 28, 2010 Pretty poor half of football. The game started off ok, but once the goal went in the game deteriorated. Pen was a dive IMO, however, Olsson had a legitimate goal disallowed shortly before that. Karma, I guess. The pitch is awful, looks difficult to play on. Burnley haven't really looked a threat at all. Then again, we're not doing much either. Hope the second half will be a little more passionate.
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Dire game in all honesty but we are winning so i guess we can't complain. Pedersen has been absolute sh1t, Diouf is far too slow and Roberts hasn't really threatened. You would think Dunny would be the player to get up and support the striker but he has hardly made any attacking runs or run with the ball. I think we are lucky in that Burnley are far worse than us.
American Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Would you have gone with 'blatant' instead of 'definite?' You're my favorite.
Balwer Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Ollson has been the pick for me and the defense has looked pretty solid. Burnley came into it after the goal and looked threatening for the second part of the half, but we had a few chances throughout.
joey_big_nose Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 I can't believe how bad Burnley are. Mind blowing. Did slightly improve towards the end. Olsson dived, sad to say. However he had a perfectly good goal chalked off so maybe there is some fairness. Good performance from everyone except Pedersen whose set pieces have gone back to appalling.
martmitch Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Need to be looking to get a second early on to seal this, as terrible as they are I can see them getting something especially if it stays 1-0, we are looking progressivly worse in the final 3rd as the half has gone on, be tempted to bring nico on to partner Roberts
Guest roverspogges Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Watching on it on sky - I'm quite impressed with Roberts I think he's worked hard up front also we have defended well too.
Blue blood Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Some thoughts on the first half. We deserve to be ahead. A second goal should come, as the dingle defence is dreadful. Burnley have relegation written all over them It's even more obvious than the scaffolding signs. The dingles seem to be targeting Salgado for a lot of their attacks but he is coping rather well imo. First time I've seen Jones, very impressed - can get rid of Zurab without a seconds hesitation ideal cover this lad. Dunn not done much bar 1 run and the penalty. Olsson is miles better on the left wing than lb. In light of Dunny not doing much and them targeting Salgado I'd put on Emo on the right to give Slagado more protection and switch Diouf inside. Dunn doesn't seem fit to me. On a side note we can play some nice stuff even when we've got a physical pest/presence striker on the pitch. Someone who can hold it up/head would bring this team on leaps and bounds. Roberts isn't having a bad game, but overall I think a better target man would do wonders for us.
doctorryan Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Well done first half and a deserved 1 goal lead. Not sure it was a penalty but since Olsson's strike should have counted it all equals out anyway. Otherwise, the officiating has been good, which is incredibly rare. We've bossed them around the pitch pretty much the whole half save for a few moments, so a second goal should come as long as we don't come out of the dressing room sleepwalking.
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Good performance from everyone except Pedersen whose set pieces have gone back to appalling. I can't agree Joey, i think we have been very poor.
Miker Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Jones has been excellent again and Olsson looks dangerous going forward, but pretty poor game overall. Roberts has done a good job up front actually, hasn't got himself into a position to apply the finish yet, but he's causing problems which is good. It looked like there was contact from Jensen to me, but it was clear that Olsson got himself into the position to go down. Pretty sly of him!
joey_big_nose Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 I can't agree Joey, i think we have been very poor. Really? We have completely dominated the first half and could be 3 up if we took our chances. Not too pretty but it's effective.
Inta Beaver Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 The big teams always get these decisions!! Ha ha ha about time we did!!!!
Plastic Head Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Pedersen has been f**kin terrible. We desparately need a new set piece taker for next year.
Backroom DE. Posted March 28, 2010 Backroom Posted March 28, 2010 I wonder if MGP signed a new contract before the match started.
Amo Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 I think Roberts has done awight, actually. He hasn't had a lot of support from midfield, especially Dunn who's been anonymous. Burnley have looked woeful and don't even look up for the game. We haven't been much better, but we got a deserved goal and hopefully won't let them back into this.
DasGelb Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Although we haven´t been playing pretty, we lead the shooting stats 8-1. Says it all really. We have been dominating a very poor Burnley side.

Roberts has done very well, I just wouldn't put money on him finishing a half chance (or a chance for that matter) if one presents itself. That's what Diouf/Pedersen/Dunn are on the pitch for though, to play off him. Olsson's looked rather dangerous and the defence has been solid. Otherwise we've been pretty poor I think.
bubblerrovers Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 We need a second goal as can see the ref giving burnley something to level up decisions
Backroom DE. Posted March 28, 2010 Backroom Posted March 28, 2010 We seem to have forgotten how to control the ball !
