Ossydave Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Did the fans have an altercation under the cricket field stand at half time?..reports say the dividing door was breached, punches and bottles thrown. Would love to see some more pictures recording please! They kicked the door through then stood there shouting at us when they realised there was more than a couple of lads stood there ha. I got bloody soaked with the flying bottles mind.

OsloRover Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Clearly there are still issues to resolve - the quality of football is not as many would like it, but it is effective, and we all enjoy getting seven points in a week. The squad is better, but we still lack a driving midfielder and need more options up front. But we have Olss.. oh sorry I thought you said diving midfielder
thenodrog Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Anyway. Great day out, despite the early start. And fair play to the disabled Burnley fan and her carer who actually have a season ticket in the middle of the 'away' disabled area! Don't think I'd fancy that. Much respect for them, they'll enjoy some good craic I'm sure. I'm rather suprised the club allows it.
thenodrog Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Pedersen has actually looked okay recentley but he was poor today. How difficult is it to put a decent cross in from a free-kick? Watched Liverpool game straight after and every single free-kick Gerrard took was spot on right in the danger area. I know Pedersen isn't to the same standard of Gerrard but surely he should be putting the majority of his free-kicks in good positions, today we must have had about ten free-kicks in good position yet I only recall one decent delivery out of the lot. That was my main reason for his poor match rating, we rely heavily on set-pieces for our goals and we need better delivery than we got today. I was rather frustrated to see MGP and EHD standing over a free kick from the left wing in the second half. MGP ended up taking it (obvious left foot outswinger) which was wrong to me given that he'd taken poor ones all the match and especially after the last time Diouff took a dead ball kick from near there he put it right on a plate for Dunny to nod in on the near post v Brum.
OhmiBRFC Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Burnley's going down (Forever). Quality singing that! Fantastic day, we deserved the win. Got home sooner than I expected - although would have been quicker if they let us go quicker than 30mph on the M65!
deryck guyler's spoon Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 A bit of wishful thinking in them thar hills! http://www.burnleyexpress.net/claretsmatchreports/PHOTOS-Burnley-FC1-Blackburn-Rovers.6186040.jp
thenodrog Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Sky Sports Fanzone Highlights I dislike this type of TV but in fairness the Burnley fan was far more reasonable and lucid than our eejit and definitely more humerous.
Ewood and I Would Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I dislike this type of TV but in fairness the Burnley fan was far more reasonable and lucid than our eejit and definitely more humerous. I turned them off after 15 minutes when it became clear they were both ignorant idiots. The Burnley fan went off a saracstic diatribe about Diouf doing Charity work for orphans in his spare time when in fact El Hadj DOES have his own charity that looks after under privilidged children so the Dingle looked a bit of a nob in my eyes. Fair enough I wouldn't expect other fans to know that but the Rovers fan went along with sarcastic "joke". Then when they both agreed the Olson bar shot was in I switched off. I thought everybody knew now that the WHOLE ball has to be past the posts which clealry it wasn't. Why do so many people still think it's most of the ball that has to be over and why do Sky employ numpties who don't know the basics?
Hughesy Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Dont know if this has been posted but Alister Campbell has been bigging up the Rovers following at T'urd. Top showing to all those that went. Campbells Musings They were hard to break down, but they always are. And they could have had two or three in the second half. The bar saved us once, and three minutes later Jensen kept us in it with a terrific save from Olsson. I also hate to say this, but we lost off the pitch as well as on it. Maybe it was the fact that the Blackburn fans had to be in the away end two hours before kick-off. But they were certainly in good voice. Once they scored, but for a few second-half minutes, our fans never really got going. And Blackburn won on the wit front too. Chanting our old songs about Owen Coyle. "Brian, Brian give us a wave ... Brian Laws, football genius (or it might have been something else beginning with f)". Not to mention "we're having a party when Burnley go down ... We're having a party when Burnley go down." That's the one I can't get out of my head.
Rovermatt Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSuiHxL4o5I Video taken by Burnley fans after the final whistle. You'd think they'd just shut up and go home having been beaten by us again.
Hughesy Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Loved the new chant - "PHIL JONES IS SUPERMAN" Or the: "Hands up, Dingles hands up, only got 6 fingers, only got 6 fingers"
thenodrog Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Dont know if this has been posted but Alister Campbell has been bigging up the Rovers following at T'urd. Top showing to all those that went. Campbells Musings "I suppose I should say in the interests of balance that a few minutes before the penalty, a Rovers' player was flagged offside when clearly he wasn't, and they did get the ball in the net, albeit after Burnley had stopped defending on seeing the flag go up." Alastair Campbell What bollaks! And what spin! Watch the replay and it's clear that they didn't stop at all. Just maybe they should do as every TV pundit suggests and try and START defending sometime.
47er Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I dislike this type of TV but in fairness the Burnley fan was far more reasonable and lucid than our eejit and definitely more humerous. And the comments on Clarets Mad are far more restrained and generous towards us than we might have expected. Sorry DE4Life, I've just seen earlier comments from you to the same effect!

Doesn't help simplify things when we are told that a foul in the penalty area counts even if it is on the line.
modes98 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 One thing that made me laugh was the really bad choice of songs to play before and at half time. It was like they wanted us to change the words. Your Going Down, You won't come up again! (sung to drinking in LA) and I can't remember the other one but equally as good. I loved yesterday so much. After what I thought may be an awful day having walked into the 1980s shed that is Turd Moor and be in the crush. There would have been injuries if beer wasn't allowed on the stands. It was just a great laugh and a good derby day performance. The support was amazing from start to finish, never stopped singing. Especially liked the shoes up! A great effort. Olsson is our not so secret weapon now, he was inspired. If only the Assistant Referee had gone to specsavers he could have had a couple. The majority of the team performed at a very high level, including Phil Jones who looked more comfortable than Samba. Clearing everything near him and making some great tackles. The only sour points were MGP and Brown. MGP had 3 or 4 free kicks in fantastic positions only to put them into the wall. Brown inspires no confidence in anyone. He was running up the pitch to have a go at Nzonzi who just ignored him and walked off. Every time the ball went up to the corner of the box he didn't know whether to come or go and his defence hadn't a clue either. He got away with the one at the end, he should be dropped. That in no way takes away from a brilliant day.
Rovermatt Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 This has been posted before I'm sure but it still makes me chuckle.

He'd stopped defending. Makes perfect sense.
braddock Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 it was my dad who started the 'burnely's going down (forever)', to 'all together now', in the toilets at half time. he then continued it up the stairs outside. i was embarrassed watching him but it worked. two separate people said he was like Bez ha.
longsiders1882 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Not going to read all this thread - will be too painfull - but I did promise to come back on, win, lose or draw. For the record, my view on the major events of the match: The offside, wasn't offside. The penalty. It may be part of the game but I still hate blatant cheating and I would say the same if it had been a Burnley player. Also struggle to understand how a referee can see enough to know a foul was comitted but not to send of the player for denying a goal scoring opportunity. Our 'penalty' - I've heard Andy Grey arguing it was a penalty but I never thought it was and having watched all the replays I still don't. It was a foul and a booking as was given. The shot that hit the bar - I didn't think the whole ball crossed the line and certainly not one replay I've seen shows it. As such I think the ref got that one right. Overall it was an average game in which you were comfortable. We simply did not create anything of note and struggled to deal with the cheating Swede who had the measure of the defence for the enitre game. I didn't think you were particularly impressive which makes the defeat and our non performance even more difficult to take. Fair play to your fans though, made lots of noise. Bye for now, I'm off to lick my wounds.

Yeah... the one who couldn't even see the linesman unless he had eyes in the back of his head. btw I'm suprised nobody has found any clips of the ecstatic Burnley fans after their play off success with their 'Bring on the bostods' chant.
LeftWinger Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Fair play to your fans though, made lots of noise. Bye for now, I'm off to lick my wounds. Can't really disagree with any of your points - and fair play for having the balls to come on here.

longsiders1882 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Oh and forgot your keepers handball, definite hand ball, free kick and possibly sending off - not sure on the rules re the colour of the card.
LeftWinger Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Oh and forgot your keepers handball, definite hand ball, free kick and possibly sending off - not sure on the rules re the colour of the card. It would have been a yellow at the worst as it was accidental he just slid out of the box.
