Oh and forgot your keepers handball, definite hand ball, free kick and possibly sending off - not sure on the rules re the colour of the card.

Losing to ten men would have made it even worse though, no?

Not going to read all this thread - will be too painfull - but I did promise to come back on, win, lose or draw.

For the record, my view on the major events of the match:

The offside, wasn't offside.

The penalty. It may be part of the game but I still hate blatant cheating and I would say the same if it had been a Burnley player. Also struggle to understand how a referee can see enough to know a foul was comitted but not to send of the player for denying a goal scoring opportunity.

Our 'penalty' - I've heard Andy Grey arguing it was a penalty but I never thought it was and having watched all the replays I still don't. It was a foul and a booking as was given.

The shot that hit the bar - I didn't think the whole ball crossed the line and certainly not one replay I've seen shows it. As such I think the ref got that one right.

Overall it was an average game in which you were comfortable. We simply did not create anything of note and struggled to deal with the cheating Swede who had the measure of the defence for the enitre game. I didn't think you were particularly impressive which makes the defeat and our non performance even more difficult to take. Fair play to your fans though, made lots of noise.

Bye for now, I'm off to lick my wounds.

Thats fair. Well done Longsider.

Chances are that you'll be on your own I guess. Sam and Ranuff'll be too busy committing domestic violence** on their partners for the minute. In ranulphs case I suppose Payts is laying a 9 iron across his buttocks as we speak.

btw ** I am reliably informed that domestic violence incidents in the town rocket every time Burnley lose. Must be more than a few logged in casualty this season then.

It would have been a yellow at the worst as it was accidental he just slid out of the box.

It wasn't accidental - he knew exactly what he was doing which is why he tried to hide it.

As poor as we were I've just read the match stats and am amazed at some of the figures - shame we were unable to have anything like a shot on goal for 90 minutes with all the possesion and territorial advantage we had.

I'm just hoping to now hear Laws has gone.

Also saw the headline on the front of the Telegraph suggesting Rovers fans smashed up the seat and the toilets - just the sort of behavoir you criticise Burnley fans for, I do hope the paper is lying.

There are some really dodgy match stats around. The Telegraph ones are terrible. The BBC ones are way more accurate.

Sending off? Rubbish. What planet are you on? Not last man and not a goalscoring opportunity. You yourself suggest that he was almost in the bob Lord stand!!

All it could have been if it was deemed handball was a direct free kick (from a poor angle) and a yellow card ......... and thats only if the ref's missus had given him a bollocking that morning!

Lets not distort the truth shall we?

Sad to say its true, the Toilets were a disgrace to begin with, then people started getting silly. There was some seat smashing going on either side of the segregation - Nearly got clocked by a seat back chucked by a lad on the Burnley side myself. Pillocks, from teams.

No it's unfortunately true, the toilets were absolutely trashed. People were just peeing anywhere they could find space too, it's going to absolutely stink in there now.

Pathetic and mind numbing in it's stupidity given recent events at Stoke. Is it any wonder why I won't go to away matches given the fact that I would hace to rub shoulders with such retards? I hope video evidence allows the police to prosecute fully.

Where did I say sent off? I said I wasn't sure what the punishment was.

Those wooden seats shouldn't even be allowed, they're potentially lethal if they were to hit someone

Can't say I've ever seen a seat, wood or otherwise, jump and hit anybody.

I have seen morons use all sorts of things as missiles of course.

2 penneth on the day.

Total credit to who ever authorised "Beer and Fags in the Permiership", most sensible decision of the day. Stewarding and Policing seemd for what I saw with Rovers fans, some of the best experienced whilst away. Fair play for serving beer in the first place.

Reminded me what away days and football is all about for supporters. Manure, Scousers(both)away days are dominated by stewards and Police being aggressive.

Today we won on the pitch and Burnley FC won a little respect for respecting us.

It was a free kick either way. Either for the way Nugent ran into Brown or for Brown handling the ball out the area. It is a free kick either way and Dean just bottled it. It would have been a yellow card as it was going away from goal and we had players back. Another example of Brown's hesitation almost costing us.

From what I saw the seats were easily detachable. I know one person on here who has a Turd Moor seat in his front room and another who is getting it signed by the rovers players.

You can't have weapons like the so easily available at a football match. If Millwall or Cardiff came to town, which they most likely will next year, you won't have a stand left. Luckily your fans won't be in the same stand as them next year.

Just a quick question to anybody who might know the answer. We drove home from Ewood yesterday and passed the Rovers team coach travelling north on the M6 just past Tickled Trout with a Police escort. Anyone know where they were going?

I saw a copper standing by his car at Ewood with a slightly bemused and amused look on his face holding a seat. It was a look of 'Why would anyone want one of these?' :D

Come on Gord, exactly the same hapenned in 2000, the same would have occured in the 90s. Always moronic behaviour by a tiny minority. Yesterday was fantastic, almost all fans were passionate not yobbish.

It is an over-reaction by Gordon but I can understand it to a point. The toilets were in a poor state before the game started. I don't know what happened after kick-off but everything was still usable and relatively undamaged at that point. One of the toilet seats was already broken before anything started. It's the idiotic minority (like at Stoke) who ruin it for everyone else. The problem is that if the 'normal' fans stop going, the yobs have won and will gain more ground. They'll also ruin the good name of the club. The answer is to keep going but report yobbish behaviour. I hate saying shop fellow Rovers but in my mind these idiots aren't football fans at all.

I would imagine they all stopped in a hotel last night. So wouldnt surprise me if they were heading back there to pick up their cars etc.

I certainly didn't think yesterday was ruined by yobs. Stoke definitely was. Yesterday was a fantastic day and felt like a cup final to be honest. It was great to be there and I won't be missing one of those ever if I can help it.

from what i heard from a friend of a friend of dunny's they had been promised that they wouldn't have to train till thursday if they won.

but i'm not sure i believe that.

I've also heard that the lads are off until Thursday. Fair play I say if the incentive keeps us winning on the road.

Still made up after yesterday. Not a great spectacle but who gives a damn. Olsson, Jones and Samba were immense.

I Reckon that will be our last game against our neighbours for a few years.

From very early on in the game I said that Nugent was out to hurt someone. His challenges on Salgado looked vicious and pre-planned so I wasn't surprised when he eventually managed to do him in the second half. Don't know the extent of the injury but it was deliberate and as such Nugent needs seeing to. Leaving the foot in like that leads to bad things.

Fab result, 40 point mark passed, new kids coming through and looking hot, Dingles beaten twice and already down, how does it get much better than this? Oh I know, Hull to escape and West Ham to go down. Now that will be a season and a half.

A couple of good buys in the close season and then watch us go next year. :rover:

Before Christmas I was accused of only posting on here after we (the "Dingles" to you) won games.

Anyway, congratulations on doing the double over us and for making certain of your Premiership status in the process. I wish I could say it was an undeserved victory, but I can't.

Roll on the end of what is fast becoming a season of farcical proportions.

Bye bye Old Trafford. Hello again Bloomfield Road.
