imy9 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Great defensive performance, I also thought Grella had a decent game after a spell out through injury, very proud.

Mr. E Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Fantastic defensive work, + a brilliant save from Robinson won us the point...but unfortunately we lacked the class upfront to win us the three points. It's gonna be a mid-table finish I'm afraid.
Guest roverspogges Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I didn't realise we made all three subs sorry
tony gale's mic Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Great defensive display. If we can somehow get hold of someone with a bit of an attacking spark next season then we really will be a good side. We're arguably better defensively than even Hughes' side now but we're desperately missing the likes of Bentley and Bellamy.
jim mk2 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 It's gonna be a mid-table finish I'm afraid. Instead of a Champions League place I presume ? Get real. Berk.
Sysagent Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I'll take 0 - 0 against Man U any day... Well fought draw for the Rovers, Man U don't like nowhere near threatening enough without the presence of Rooney on the pitch. I thought if we had managed to keep possession a bit more and made the passes count we could have just edged a win in the second half. Excellent ground out result though for the Blues!!1!!!
Rovermatt Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Massive spanner in United's works. What an excellent point. We improved for the second half and earned ourselves a very good result.
Exiled in Toronto Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Good result but I have to say that was the least potent Man Yoo I have ever seen at Ewood - 3 saves for Robbo - gone are the days when we needed 25 from Brad to get a point. Pedersen can't go quickly enough for my liking.
tony gale's mic Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 It's gonna be a mid-table finish I'm afraid. After the negative transfer budget and the players Sam's had to replace thats nothing to be down about.
hollowsr Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I'd have taken 13th before the season began so above that I'm very happy with!
Amo Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 A point against the top four is always a valuable one, but under the circumstances this was even sweeter. It would have been interesting to see us have a go, since this was a poor United side, but you can't fault our commitment across the pitch.
imy9 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Dindane starts on ITV now! Think he would have made a difference today with his pace.
philipl Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 First class work by the Rovers. Great to see us frustrate the Mancs like that. The defense was superb, Robbo did what he needed to do when called upon and the midfield improved appreciably when Dunn came on. Olsson looked a huge threat running at the Mancs. That was no 90 minutes of holding out at the Alamo- the match stats showed Rovers at over 50% possession after 85 minutes. After having had massive doubts about Sam, I really feel the club is heading in the right direction now. Jones and Olsson have been revelations in this last third of the season whilst we have known all season that Nzonzi is a bit of a find as well.
WillY Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Hmm, that is why I don't do predictions. And shouldn't do conspiracies either.
mattyc2422 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Fantastic. Thought Givet and Jones in particular showed alot of composure when Samba went off. Jones' past month has been unbelievable. Rate him very highly. Though Kalinic tried hard in difficult circumstances. Judging from the TV, there seemed to be a real buzz around Ewood today. Good to get 90 minutes into Grella too.

Did I hear that was his 1st start in 2010? Shame that will be it for him now probably until after the World Cup

Hmmm...the TV had us down at 38% in the first half and the bbc say 44% for the whole game. Seems about right to me.
Steve Moss Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Smoss - you're an idiot. Quite possibly. Luck has little to do with it, it's the quality that's missing. We're both wasteful and clueless with the ball, and Kalinic often has no one around him for thirty yards. I don't think we're clueless. But you are right that Kalinic has no one around him (other than when Diouf came on). First class work by the Rovers. Great to see us frustrate the Mancs like that. . . . After having had massive doubts about Sam, I really feel the club is heading in the right direction now. Jones and Olsson have been revelations in this last third of the season whilst we have known all season that Nzonzi is a bit of a find as well. Absolutely. I am confident that Sam will be fielding an even stronger squad next season. Onwards and upwards. This feels like a win wooooooooh!!!!! It does feel good. Welcome to the idiocracy.
philipl Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 There was a caption showing Rovers 51% possession. 29,912 attendance. 5 games undefeated, ..and the BBC show that we had more attempts on target than Man U as well!
tonyoz Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Telegraph stats: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/manutd/7578367/Blackburn-Rovers-0-Manchester-United-0-match-report.html Possession 33% Territorial advantage (whatever that means!) 52% Shots on 1:4 Shots off 2:7 Tackles 20:10 .............gotta love that one! but here is the scary bit: successful passing 56:80 Bottle 80:20 OK I made that one up!
philipl Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Oh brilliant! Beeb has possession 44%- 56% and shots on 7-6 to Rovers. link Trust the Torygraph to get their numbers wrong.

Which were our 7 shots on target?!! The one shot on target (Samba's header) seems about right. Can't for the life of me find 7 shots.
broadsword Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 That'll do me. Shame about Pedersen's half-assed free-kick, but we've come to expect that.
