Balls to that. Put the strongest possible side out, play exactly like we did against Chelsea and Liverpool, and hope for a bit of luck this time. Paying badly and getting a point or three here is most definitely an option.

Sam seems to be thinking along those lines, he said on SkySports that he wants to do what we did against Chelsea. There is no reason why we can't do just that. Let's just hope we do have a good go and not get hammered.

My money is going on a draw. 1-1 at 15/2

I see Sam was at Aintree cheering on Fergie's horse to a win today, wonder if he offered him a bag of cash to let them beat us?

:rover: bloddy disgrace that they were out gambling together so near a important premier league game, chelski are bound to complian :brfc:

Don't see how we can get anything out of this to be honest. No doubt we'll go down to a couple of goals from Paul Scholes (arriving late into the box as is his forte) and whoever has yet to score for United this season (or indeed ever). We've been woeful against the top teams recently (guaranteeing them three points most of the time) and I have no inkling that this will change on Sunday.

We've got draws at home to Liverpool and Chelsea and beat Villa. We've been woeful away from home against the top teams but that's not just specific to the top teams.

I'm still convinced we're gonna be beat one of the big boys before the season is out, and the way Utd are playing at the moment it could well be them. We played well against Chelsea in the second half, and a more potent last ten minutes could have seen us walk away with all of the points.

I'm going for an early Utd goal, (typically for us!) and then a rousing 2nd half, with Dunn scoring a screamer, and Kalinic coming off the bench to score a winner in the last 5 minutes.

2-1

United aren't playing that well at the moment and the loss of Rooney hasn't helped them. I'd like to think that would help us going into this game, but knowing United, they'll pull a performance out of the bag, especially after going out of the Champions League. We have been playing well at home and by that I mean, we've been winning. We usually give United a game at home and hope this continues on Sunday and we can get a result that helps us out and derails their league bid as well.

Since our premier league status is secured I would probably experiment and try out something new for this game. Just to try and nullify United and match our weaknesses with their strenghts.

I would go 4-2-3-1

Robinson

Salgado - Samba - Jones - Givet

Nzonzi - Grella

Diouf/Pedersen - Dunn - Olsson

Kalinic

Will give our back four and most importantly Givet and Salgado some needed support from Nzonzi and Grella and we will be decent at going forward with dunn, olsson and kalinic. Hoilett could maybe get a nod in front of diouf and pedersen to exploit the room both Evra and Da Silva creates when they bust forward.

To be honest I would say that is our strongest team. Be happy if we played that. Although apparently Grella knocked his knee so might not be available.... hah!

I'm struggling to see which part of that team is experimenting or trying anything new - looks like the usual "protect the 0-0" line-up? Perhaps the experimentation will see them run out backwards? ;)

Looking at the on-line booking site it would appear that most of these are in the BBE upper tier.

The 'sold-out' signs could be out by tomorrow but watch the gate being given as 29,... on the day!!

Hmm... I think it would have to be a complete sell out for the attendance to be given as 30,000 plus... the last time we had that sort of gate was in 2008.

C'mon - get them tickets bought! :brfc:

I always believed it included everybody who was within the stands in a 'seat' so to speak, so everyone including a box, the stands and the subs bench (could be wrong through)however not standing stewards or police. I also remember reading we held the largest 'disabled section' in the league, only because the front of the riverside is allocated. Therefore i presume that 'section' must hold a few hundred just 1 reason why we would never fully reach capacity.

A bit old, but here it is:

Table 1: FA Premier League (season 97-98): provision of wheelchair spaces as a percentage of ground capacity

Club Capacity Spaces Spaces as %

Blackburn Rovers 31,367 280 0.89

Source: National Guide to Facilities for Disabled Football Supporters (Sir Norman Chester Centre 1997)

* figures may have changed following recent ground redevelopment

4.5 The Green Guide sliding scale was not available until 1997, but, as the Sir Norman Chester Centre concludes, it is disappointing that few FA Premier League grounds come close to its recommendations:

“Few football grounds - and even some of the new ones - seem to meet the Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds guidelines on this score ... Some larger grounds today - including substantially redeveloped ones - are rather more likely to offer less than a half of what might be expected or required.” (p.13)

4.6 Only Ewood Park exceeds the number of spaces recommended by the Green Guide for a newly-built stadium. Derby County and West Ham come close. Six FA Premier League clubs responding to theLeaving the Trackside survey said it was often the case that they had more applications for tickets from wheelchair users than they were able to accommodate. Across all four divisions, the survey found that 57 clubs offer 40 or fewer wheelchair spaces. Tables for Divisions One, Two and Three are in appendix 2.
