den Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Just what I thought Ozz. All these years Lancs fans have blamed the weather for us not winning the title, it would be sweet to win without another ball being bowled. Now, just watch. Lancs game will be rained off allowing someone else to sneak the title.

Ozz Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 If we do win the league, the records will show that none of the matches were played at Old Trafford, where the weather has definitely cost us points over the years. Games have been played at Aigburth, Southport and Blackpool.
den Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Warwicks have lost to Hants. So updated LVCC Table is : Lancs 13-198 Durham 13-185 Som 13-177 Warks 12-173
martonrover Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Fantastic day all round for the Red Rose today, the other results couldn't have gone better. Warwicks have to play Yorkshire twice and Yorks need the points to stay up,(don't think there's any chance of them losing deliberately!) As I said a few weeks ago .....maybe ,just maybe this is the Year.
Mattyblue Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Good piece: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/cricket/counties/8718823/Lancashire-on-brink-of-County-Championship-title-after-a-77-year-wait.html
Tris Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Need Nottinghamshire to do us a favour against 2nd placed Durham today - Durham would go back to the top if they were to win ... Durham chasing 321 to win are currently 43-3. Come on Notts!!
Gav Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Need Nottinghamshire to do us a favour against 2nd placed Durham today - Durham would go back to the top if they were to win ... Durham chasing 321 to win are currently 43-3. Come on Notts!! Friday 9th September at Liverpool, against Hampshire, could be an interesting day if results go our way
Gav Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Need Nottinghamshire to do us a favour against 2nd placed Durham today - Durham would go back to the top if they were to win ... Durham chasing 321 to win are currently 43-3. Come on Notts!! Now 191/8
Ozz Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Another step closer....surely we can't actually win it, can we?
Ozz Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Table tonight. Lancs three games to play, Durham two, inc away at Hove next.
martonrover Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Warwicks made short work of the Tykes, largely thanks to the contributions of Shiv Chanderpaul,(ex Lancs), and Keith Barker, (ex Rovers!!) At least we're still top but it's very tight now and a player like Chanderpaul gives Warwicks an edge going into the last 3 games. Lancs batting has been a worry all season, one look at the batting bonus points column shows that, and how badly we could've done with a Chanderpaul in the ranks. Worcs away next week for Lancs, sadly Warwicks have the almost relegated Yorkshire at Edgbaston
Flopsy Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Marton, Lancs are ahead and will win the Championship. I cant see Warwks winning at Hampshire or against Yorkshire at Edgbaston, either due to the weather or our ability to screw it up. See the Hants result from last week *sob*
den Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Looking bad: Croft has now gone, two wickets in two balls for Jones. Croft is trapped lbw and goes first ball. Lancs are 51-4 now! 67-6. Lunch: Lancashire are 109-8
den Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 TEA - Worcs are 77-5 after Kapil was trapped lbw for 15 by Smith. Lancs 161.
SouthAussieRover Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Can you fill in the gaps please,Den?
den Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Can you fill in the gaps please,Den? Sorry SAR. Top right hand corner. Lancs on the verge of defeat.
Mattyblue Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Worcestershire: 237 & 5-0 (0.3 overs) Lancashire: 161 & 80 (30.1 overs) Worcestershire beat Lancashire by 10 wickets A lot of young lads in that side, maybe asking too much Still, doesnt help when the likes of Chilton get in and out.
david_daft Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Friday 9th September at Liverpool, against Hampshire, could be an interesting day if results go our way Think it started today, Gav. Lancs currently 23-1 Warwickshire 41-1 v. notts
den Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Interesting stuff. Reminds me of an away trip to Newcastle. Bumble manhandled out of the LCCC bar. Sports fans should be treated better.
david_daft Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 lancs 302-7 (extra bonus points) Were 125-5, so come back quite well. Warks 197-3
Neil Weaver Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 337-7 at close of play, Glen Chapple to the rescue AGAIN with 70-odd not out and pretty rapidly too. As things stand, just one point behind Warks and 7 behind Durham (who aren't playing till next week) so any further bonus points might just be crucial. Wonder what the weather forecast is like for Liverpool and Birmingham for the next few days?
den Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Lancs 388 all out. Chapple out for 97. Hamps 10-0
den Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Lancs on the verge of victory. Briggs goes for 0 and was caught by Procter. Hants 119-9 Kerrigan 8 fer 39!!!
