I seem to remember a similarly brilliant rant from a Mariner a few weeks or months ago. Not sure if it was the same bloke.

That's one sweary forum they have there. A world away from this one where you cant even say ######, never mind ###### or #### :(

I absolutly ###### my sides reading that!!

Funny thing is he goes on about other grounds being ###### in the conference but lets be fair Blundell Park probably won't be the best with their stand that looks designed to go behind a goal on the half way line and the woodeness of the rest of it, not forgetting the stench of fish. Seems a long time since we thumped them 4-1 there in our promotion season.

Every time I read this I have tears streaming down my face. The swear words add to the comedy. Wonderful stuff, especially where he blames his dad. My son said something similar to me once though not as foul mouthed.

First time I went to Grimsby was in the 1999-2000 season just after Souness had been appointed. 0-0 if I recall and it was the latest rank bad performance in a season where I had a constant feeling of dread that we would never get out that godforsaken league!

Season after was another storming performance on our march back up- Berkovic was superb- who needs this Tugay fella!

That guy's post is what football is all about and reminds you of how much passion there is for this game. Always annoys me when you hear some cliche spouting pundit stating how Newcastle/Liverpool et al fans are so 'passionate'. I have the utmost respect for a Grimsby fan watching his side struggle to exist, surrounded by plastic 'fans' of the Big 4

A quality heart-felt post :tu: One of the best things i`ve read in ages. It`s what being a 'proper' football fan is all about. :rover:

There was a similar website posted awhile back which was a lot funnier than this, without resorting to wanton swearing.

Was that the Huddersfield Town one?

That was perhaps one of the best fans website I have seen

Yes that was genuinely funny (in spite of the naughty words; or even because of them). It was also very poignant at the same time, because as others have already said ..... that really WAS a football fan talking from the heart, and most of us Rovers fans can very easily relate to that.

Grimsby Town are a PROPER football club, very like Rovers in so many ways. A "little" club but also one with a history and a small fan base. They have had their up's and down's ever since I first became a football fan myself in 1946. For me they conjure up a very special memory as my very first visit to Ewood Park was in November 1946 and Rovers were playing Grimsby Town in the First Division, a match that finished as 1-1 but which has always remained very clear in my memory as that is what made me into a lifelong Rovers fan.

Oh dear! I feel quite sad myself to see them drop out of the FL and I certainly hope that it is only a temporary "glitch" and that they soon bounce back. As far as I know they have never before dropped out of the FL.
