Backroom Tom Posted July 30, 2010 Backroom Posted July 30, 2010 Best case scenario is niko plays and scores, not bothered about the result if that happens

mattyc2422 Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 The Olympic Hotel worked well last time. Sydney Rover - do they do easy bar food that we can get stuck into, or is their food more separate?
mattyc2422 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Papers reporting that Emmo, Grella and Nelsen will start tonight.
alexanders Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Anybody know if Kalinic is ready for this one? I am looking forward to see him play and become more and more worried the longer he stays injured.
ada2020 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Anybody know if Kalinic is ready for this one? I am looking forward to see him play and become more and more worried the longer he stays injured. Nicko reported thta he was a doubt for the start of the season, so I guess you might be disappointed.
philipl Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Anybody know if Kalinic is ready for this one? I am looking forward to see him play and become more and more worried the longer he stays injured. Having just trawled through for the digest, it appears he is doubtful for the start of the season.
alexanders Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Thats horrible news. I can't stand watching Roberts up top by himself. He's mostly useless and gives away a lot of free-kicks.
MarkBRFC71 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Team: ROVERS: Bunn, Salgado, Olsson, Nelsen, Givet, Grella, Emerton, Dunn, Pedersen, Diouf, Nzonzi. Subs: Andrews, Robinson, Jacobsen, Jones, Hanley, Chimbonda, Linganzi, Morris, Rigters, Hoilett. I'm guessing Roberts is injured or being wrapped in cotton wool given Niko being crocked.
alexanders Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Diouf up front as a lone striker. Might work. He is good at holding up the ball, but he was rubbish as a striker away at Stoke the last time I saw him in the striker role.
Ricky Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I was going to be sarcastic about Diouf in the lone striker role and then thought about it a bit more, In theory he has the attributes needed to play the role. His close control is pretty good, He's over 6 foot tall, and he'll go to ground to win free kicks if touched by a defender.
philipl Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Full time in the first match, AEK Athens 1 Rangers 0. The victory puts AEK on 17 points, Rangers are on 6. 13 goals from Rovers and they'll win the tournament! From the official site! Go Diouffy.
Fife Rover Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 So that's a kinda defensive 4-6-0 set up then. :)Ha ha! You make it sound like the wheel arrangement on an Atlantic type steam locomotive.
philipl Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Robbie Slater in the studio. So here we go on another Rovers hate fest from the commentary box.
1864roverite Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Cant see Robbie Slater having anything poor to say about Rovers.
philipl Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 But the other commentators have been totally biased against us.
budha Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Pedersen seems to be playing as the lone striker. Dioufy on the left.
wandel77 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 im thinking this is Sams way to say we need a striker NOW !
Backroom Tom Posted July 31, 2010 Backroom Posted July 31, 2010 Much much better today, Pedersen and Diouf looking dangerous
philipl Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Sydney FC are no great shakes regardless of them beating Rangers.
