Rover Down Under Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Only been here two hours and bumped into Jason Roberts, Vince and Keef down in Darling Harbour. Asked them why they weren't in bed and they said they were staying awake today (they got in at 6am) and getting a good nights kip tonight. Jase is very friendly, asked him to bang one in tomorrow for us, other half was chuffed to bits at getting a pic with them.

Blackburn Ravers Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 is there anyway of watching the game LIVE in britain? yes mate, http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=80684∂=sports no actual links yet but they should appear nearer the time
Blueboy Downunder Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 very dangerous game getting hammered with sydney rovers at the nelly.
budha Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 The full squad for the tournament: Brown, Bunn, Robinson; Chimbonda, Givet, Hanley, Jacobsen, Jones, Nelsen, Salgado, Samba; Andrews, Diouf, Dunn, Emerton, Grella, Hoilett, Linganzi, Josh Morris, N'Zonzi, Olsson, Pedersen; Kalinic, Rigters, Roberts. Not much surprises there. Fielding hasn't been able to surpass Brown or Bunn. Khizanishvili was left back as reported. Josh Morris was taken with instead of Gunning, Judge, Doran or Marrow. Captain Ryan Nelsen and midfielder Brett Emerton have linked up with the rest of the squad Down Under in Sydney, but like Lars Jacobsen and Vince Grella, neither are expected to start against All four players could feature at some point, but that would likely be as second half substitutes. Of the 25-man squad here in Sydney, Chris Samba (knee), Niko Kalinic (thigh) and Martin Olsson (knee) are doubtful for Rovers' opening match of the tournament, but Jason Roberts has recovered from a knock picked up in training. http://www.rovers.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10303~2100966,00.html
Blackburn Ravers Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 So what times are the games English time? 6 am
steven Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 tomorrow morning or Monday morning? Tomorrow morning. The first game is in about 7 hours and counting......!
Backroom Tom Posted July 24, 2010 Backroom Posted July 24, 2010 Thought Branco may have made the squad, looks like he won't be earning a contract
mattyc2422 Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Good to meet Sydney Rovers, Rover Down Under and some of the other lads in my fleeting appearance at the pub last night. Was surreal to me, as someone who has never been to Ewood, to listen to some of the English lads talking about life back at Ewood.
bubblerrovers Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Looks like there are about 50 people in the ground for the 1st game, and that's for the Sydney team
jonv Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Looks like there are about 50 people in the ground for the 1st game, and that's for the Sydney team It's because 50 thousand Rovers supporters picked up the rest of the tickets...
philipl Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 So one point per goal? That's Rovers bottom of the table then!! According to the TV coverage, Rangers are playing- nothing said about Rovers so far. Anyway I have found out that Rangers have not signed a player for 2 years and are on the edge of going bust. There are only 13 Rangers player there. We are 4-5-1.
Bobby G Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Bosnich just said that the Rovers staff think Roberts has been doing well in pre-season and firing on all cylinders.
Dan Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I'm beginning to wonder why I've got up at such a time on a Sunday morning to watch Rovers!
philipl Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Robinson at fault for the first goal. Rovers are sleepier than I am- they are just jogging about.
Florida Rover Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 One way traffic watching Rangers run over us in the opening 15 minutes. One goal down and already they have 6 shots on goal.We can maintain no possesion much less build and attack.Salgado has had a torrid time of it so far
Derbyshire Blue Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 First bit of attacking play from us... we look very weak
brfcshabba Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Better play in the last 5 mins. Still no threat up front
Florida Rover Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Roberts with a nice takedown(handball?)and a lovely turn but the shot is right at the keeper.
