LeChuck Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 It's definate that there will be games where at least one of them will be missing. Highly likely that there will be some games where both are out. In the first case we will be stuck with one, single, fit player, hoping they do better than last season. In the second case we will have Richters playing the lone striker. You think that's acceptable for a Premier League club leC? Of course I don't. Whatever the outcome of the takeover, I don't believe for a second we will only have two strikers. Sam wasn't happy in January when we had three on the books, so at least one will come in before the end of the window.

Poita Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Very very worrying times. I have always had alot of faith within JW.... But this current situation has given me doubts. Big sam has eveey right ro be frustrated. I can see him walking out which is the last thing we need.
Amo Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 I hear Alexander Hleb is being offered to Birmingham & Fulham for a cut-price £3m. Worth a look?
brfcshabba Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 I hear Alexander Hleb is being offered to Birmingham & Fulham for a cut-price £3m. Worth a look? If we had 3 million...
Manc Rover Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 I hear Alexander Hleb is being offered to Birmingham & Fulham for a cut-price £3m. Worth a look? [/quote Seriously? I always rated him at Arsenal. Someone that that can actually run with the ball for more than 2 seconds. Class act and £3M is fair. Prob on massive wages, though!

Big sam has eveey right ro be frustrated. I can see him walking out which is the last thing we need. What is JW supposed to do about it? There is no money from the Trust, the takeover is pending. Sam knows he has the option to sell or in buy players he can afford at the moment. He is the manager and can only work with what he is given, but JW doesn't have the ability to give him anymore money.
unleaded Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Williams keeps telling the LT thats its normal business every other week and then you have Big Sam telling it as it is...........Williams just needs to come out and tell the fans the truth........they would rather have that then take the crap he keeps stewing out......Just say No In`s only Outs untill take over talks are at an end..........that way everybody can relax and watch the Man City show............This double talk is no goood for anybody really..........
Ricky Posted July 22, 2010 Author Posted July 22, 2010 I'm still a little suprised that we haven't tried to cash in on some of our players who played at the World Cup. Thought we may have been able to make it clear that a number of the squad were available and maybe try to push through sales of Jacobsen and even maybe the Admiral. Probably one of the few saleable assets we could cope without. At the end of the day nobodys going to sign Chimbonda so we may have to make a sacrifice and sell one of our better players. Lets start trading!

Big sam has eveey right ro be frustrated. I can see him walking out which is the last thing we need. people who question John Williams really get on my nerves!!! at least try and understand the situation before posting for christ sake. John Williams does not throw his own cash into this football club, he is not the owner of the club, nor a financial backer. he is trying to balance what money comes in against what is going out if John Williams could make some extra money appear from somewhere he would bloody do it!! but he can't his hands are tied. so if your losing faith in John Williams - think about the situation properly - and ask yourself how he is supposed to do any better?
Amo Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 so if your losing faith in John Williams - think about the situation properly - and ask yourself how he is supposed to do any better? Not sanction lucrative contracts to players who are clearly pants?
mark1875 Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Not sanction lucrative contracts to players who are clearly pants? so you wish for a chairman who doesn't back his manager's decisions?
Amo Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 so you wish for a chairman who doesn't back his manager's decisions? Within reason. There has to be a compromise to ensure all of our revenue isn't going down the tube and into the player's pockets - especially when most of those players are painfully average. And it was never Sam's decision to give Andrews a payrise. JW did that off his own back.
alexanders Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 stop moaning. Andrews pay rise was probably negotiated earlier on and was most likely based on appearences, goals and other stuff.
gazsimm Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Williams keeps telling the LT thats its normal business every other week and then you have Big Sam telling it as it is...........Williams just needs to come out and tell the fans the truth........they would rather have that then take the crap he keeps stewing out......Just say No In`s only Outs untill take over talks are at an end..........that way everybody can relax and watch the Man City show............This double talk is no goood for anybody really.......... agree totally. the fans are being left in the dark over this, other then rumours coming out. SPEAK UP WILLIAMS WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!
Amo Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 stop moaning. Andrews pay rise was probably negotiated earlier on and was most likely based on appearences, goals and other stuff. Andrews was just one example. What about players like Diouf and Chimbonda? They have little market value, but I can guarantee they're on big bucks here. Then we're all like 'Duuuh, how come we can't shift anyone?' Gee, I wonder.

pancini Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 agree totally. the fans are being left in the dark over this, other then rumours coming out. SPEAK UP WILLIAMS WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!! How can he speak up when they have signed a NDA if he does speak up then that would ruin anything that may be going on
Amo Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 because big Sam wanted them - we signed them how do you attribute that towards JW door? JW writes the cheques. We need a tighter pay-structure at the club, and JW is charge of that. If that means Sam cannot have his way all of the time, then so be it. We'll profit in the long-run. It's not like Sam isn't used to that at Rovers, anyway.
bob fleming Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 stop moaning. Andrews pay rise was probably negotiated earlier on and was most likely based on appearences, goals and other stuff. Other stuff like "random pointing" and "trying not to get in the way" presumably.
langhoblue Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Just a thought - The Trust believe they are close to a sale of the club, but that's unlikely to be before the end of the transfer window. Assuming no investment in the squad before then, it looks as if this season will be a struggle for us. That surely makes us less attractive to the potential purchaser(s) and at the very least drives down the asking price. Isn't it just commercial sense for the Trust to make some money available to Sam as it will increase the chance of selling the club?
T4E Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 because big Sam wanted them - we signed them how do you attribute that towards JW door? How do you not? At the moment we're led to believe that Sam wants to make signings but is being prevented from doing so at board room level. All signings go through approval at that level, its probably fair to assume the Chairman has the final say. If JW didnt think Diouf or Chimbonda were good business decisions we wouldnt have signed them. Bear in mind also that the manager is not the man who negotiates the contracts.

It's not like Sam isn't used to that at Rovers, anyway. he writes the cheques because as always we are backing our manager 100% within a tight budget! Sam can't have his own way enough as it is - if we take any more away from him he will be off and who comes in then? we are on a small budget but we back the manager without putting the clubs future at risk, and have been doing so for many many years since the death of uncle jack. because of John Williams shrewd approach we are no longer dependent on player sales to satisfy the bank we are keeping ourselves in the premier league by backing the managers footballing decisions and running a tight budget? your opinion is cut costs and risk this premiership future? no chance
vintageadidas Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 PROTEST! I am off to Ewood now with a homemade banner! Board Out! Lets be Newcastle fans for the day!
