My ambition went the same place our money vanishes!

There's a little too much of this churlish talk!

I'm not picking on you in particular Dan cos I could be responding to nay number of posts.

However according to your profile you were 7 when Jack Walker stepped up to the ocche at BRFC. By my reckoning you were too young to rem the decrepit sheds that constituted Ewood Park with one stand closed by the council on safety grounds, too young to see the muddy sh1t tip training areas that the rovers players endured at the likes of Pleasy fields, Altham, Fenny Rec and a cinder covered BBurn End car park etc, too young to hear about unpaid window cleaners and milkmen, too young to rem regular trips to the likes of Halifax, Mansfield, Port Vale etc. I can tell you that without Walker money we'd still be there and you wouldn't need to remember it you'd have been able to see it every fortnight as you drove past on your way to Old Trafford or Anfield with eyes shining and your red and white scarf hanging out of the car window.

That ground, those facilities and Rover's stature as one of the top 30 club in Europe wasn't magicked up out of thin air you know. This club has been punching way above it's weight for two decades now and it's all down to one man and his family. Nobody else around has contributed much other than to whinge when ST's went up, or a player was sold to balance the books so if the Walkers think they've done enough, can't do any more and it's time to let go the reins and cash in then thats fine cos it really is up to them.

For what it's worth imo you are part of an increasingly spoilt generation BRFC supporters. It could be that within the next decade you'll get the chance to test the depth of your support in the way us 'old uns' did in the 60's, 70's and 80's.

Nicko, will 'Mystery striker A' be named in the mirror tomorrow or Sundays People?

After all, I remember a wise man saying, 'if you are journo with certain information, why keep it to yourself??'

Can't see it being Raul, he'll get bigger offers from elsewhere, plus it would be too much financial commitment at this present time with the takeover.

I'm expect an experienced yet underwhelming name, Beattie fits it quite nicely.

To put all of our facilities into perspective a very prominent member of our faculty paid a visit to brockall recently. He rates our training facilitie very highly, especially since its as old as it is. He most certainly doesn't give praise easily.

Thanks Jack.

How would Raul even fit into our formation? The tried and tested 4-5-1 needs a striker who's both tall and athletic. He'll have a thankless task chasing long balls for most of the game. I can't see 33 year-old Raul spearheading this system.

Just trying to get an update on it. If so, expect an 11 o'clocker.

One clue - it's not Luca Toni.

Allegedly we are "pouncing" for Tom Eaves of Oldham. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Blackburn-and-Sunderland-chase-Oldham-starlet-Tom-Eaves-article534183.html

And we've supposedly been told to put up or shut up on Gary O'Neill. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/145742/Middlesborough-tell-Blackburn-and-Stoke-to-get-serious-over-O-Neill/

And according to the ever reliable Football Rumors, "Blackburn to asamoah gyan for 5mil or artiside bance for 3mil by the end of next week and the takeover should be completed before or just after the start of the season editor you got ant news on blackburn" 23 Jul 2010 11:23:51 http://www.football-rumours.co.uk/ What is it about the lack of puncuation? Have the public schools given up completely?

ay, i was just going to ask you, if it was Luca Toni ;)

Nicko, one question that i would like to know though, is it a case now of filling gaps up front to start the season off with? I get the feeling, that Sam will start to look at a panic buy. I dont mean a Benjani or Beattie panic buy, but perhaps an unknown striker from an obscure part of the world.

Is the Ghana striker still a possibility?

SO , who's an experienced goalscorer capable of playing up front on his own and is available for 2.5m ?

EAVES...too bizarre...didn't even start for Oldham when I saw them the other night.

O'NEIL...agent fanny talk...no cash for a midifielder right now.

GYAN...too expensive.

BANCE...been mentioned, but big fee and some doubt about his passport status.

TONI...still not him. ;)

Will no doubt depend on the terms of the deal, money up front or spread over two, three years.

The later brings more into the equation, just as Kalinic did I believe.

Wages should be covered by the last two departures, JW will love that one, Sam will do a bit more foot stamping and predict a 8th place finish.;)

Hmmm, so you've discarded all the recent suggestions except Raul? :D

Ideally we'd get Klose or Heskey. I know he takes a lot of stick but at least Heskey can play the lone role and create chances for others. He may not score many but he always creats chances for players around him.

Klose would be a great signing but I think if we went for him we'd be blown out of the water by West Ham.

Not too fussed on Beattie but at least he's proved that he can score goals at the top flight and can do a job. Might mean more to him playing for his home town team as well.

I would rather start the season, with Roberts and Kalinic, than waste money on Beattie, Benjani etc. Desperate times, calls for desperate measures.

We do have until the end of August to sign somebody, so it wouldnt be that bad to start with only Roberts and Kalinic, for the 1st 3 games of the season. Sam might still adopt this 1 up front policy, and once a new striker/s are signed, change the system to accomodate them.

Im also a bit worried, that if Sam signs a young inexperienced striker, will he play him from the get go, or will he give him 6 months before he plays him? If he does that, then i dont see the point in signing the likes of jelevic, if he is not going to play him from the start

That's all he's got going for him Ricky. If he wasn't from Blackburn, no-one would want him.

Would we? West Ham cant simply continue buying players, they are in massive debt, probably have enough strikers anyway now!

Depends what list of targets he's on Den. If he's on one with Klose and Raul then obviously he's not an option. If he's on a list with Benjani and heskey then maybe he becomes more appealing.

Depends whether we want to score goals Iceman. We need two strikers, before the beginning of the season.

DAVIES...would be ideal, but you won't be getting him.

BEATTIE...seems the loan option has been tried, but Stoke want £1.5 million...he's not the 'live' one I heard about.

RAUL...was causing interest, but too expensive.

TONI...it's a running gag for those who missed it.
