sweet Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Considering wages could be a problem I am thinking maybe Jo from city. Could be available on the cheap, i.e within our budget.

67splitscreen Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Like Kevin Davies Throw Beattie in the mix, we have are very own "Friends reUnited", has a bit of a ring to it.
OJRovers Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 If Nicko says wages could be an issue, I would think that rules out Nugent, he can't be on much more than we can afford.
Bennisfromheaven Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Like Kevin Davies Nicko said there was no chance of us getting Davies, though he fits the bill!! So, who is left???
cesus Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Wonder how many of our players feel like this? http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6275757,00.html
Kelbo Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Considering wages could be a problem I am thinking maybe Jo from city. Could be available on the cheap, i.e within our budget. There are a number of players, who due to the new rules regarding the number of foreign players, who may be available at Man City!
Iceman Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Beattie, Benjani, Ilan, Yakubu, Nugent, Elmander, Tuncay, Eidur. What is the other striker at Bolton, not Davies. He did well, but constantly found himself on the bench. Heseky, Carew, Jo, the young lad from Man United Others, Jelevic, Morientes, Raul, Fowler, Marcus Berg, Caicedo, Vassell, Govou, Cisse, Tamudo, Mido, Zaki, Toni, Podolski
chaddyrovers Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Wiki. Felipe Caicedo is to join Blackburn Rovers once a medical has been completed, for £1.5 million on a 3 year contract after agreeing personal terms with the Premier League team. Nicko have you heard anything about this one. Good player in my view. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felipe_Caicedo#Blackburn_Rovers
Guest roverspogges Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Carew would find himself in the exact same situation as any other frontman at the club. A lonesome soul feeding on scraps from midfield. It won't be Carew anyway but you get my point.
Iceman Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Nicko have you heard anything about this one. Good player in my view. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felipe_Caicedo#Blackburn_Rovers good grief, read 1 or 2 pages back.
Blackburn Ravers Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Nicko have you heard anything about this one. Good player in my view. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felipe_Caicedo#Blackburn_Rovers keep up lad,
67splitscreen Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Nicko have you heard anything about this one. Good player in my view. http://en.wikipedia....lackburn_Rovers Did you not read the following posts. I was hoping my little wink gave it away but damn you computer geeks checking IP's! Anyway, it won't be him because so far everyone has agreed it would be a good signing and Nicko said half of us will not be happy Try this next time.
Hi Mack Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 The player is Emile Heskey........O'Neill is after Keane and/or Bellamy! they have Carew Aggy Delfonuso so dont need Heskey anymore.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Dont get your hopes up people, it's James Beattie Dammit! I hope you don't buy the club
Mr. E Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Please stop mentioning the name of Capello's favourite player. Simply uttering it may tempt fate.
BRFC1995 Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Please don't say things like Heskey in jest, not good for the health.....footballing equivilent of standing an average looking bird next to a munter makes Beattie bearable
sweet Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Dont get your hopes up people, it's James Beattie Would Beatties wages really be a problem? Considering we have been linked with him in the past, and that has not come up as an issue.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I would be happy if Heskey came to the club. He would cause a lot of problems for us the opposition and works hard off the ball. If Heskey's former strike partners are telling the truth then maybe having him in the team would make Kalinic a better player.
Billy Castell Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 It may be Roque returning. No, he was just misinterpreted on a Paraguayian radio show. And I hope to God it isn't Heskey. What a waste of a shirt he would be. Samba up front would be better.
47er Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 This morning's Guardian says we have been "foiled!" in our attempts to sign Beattie. We want him for nowt or a million tops, Stoke are insisting on 2.75m so no chance. If we are really looking to pay no more than 2.5m I'd go for Nugent. Young enough still to recapture some form and we'd always get some money back if he didn't. Have been saying this for months but for our sort of money I can't see a better buy.
Dinpomp Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I'll go for Jelavić. Reportedly we've had scouts at several of his matches, but possibly more telling though is that he hasn't been mentioned in Nicko's 2 posts which mention specific names. Haven't see enough of him to comment on his usefulness. Last night scored 2 in their Europa League (qualifying) game: 1st Goal (goalkeeper howler) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RYlkLl6jGk 2nd Goal (good, clinical finish)
Backroom Tom Posted July 23, 2010 Backroom Posted July 23, 2010 People go way overboard, Heskey would walk into our team and many others in the league he's a good foil for a strike partner.
