Backroom Tom Posted July 27, 2010 Backroom Posted July 27, 2010 Not a bad option, always looked a little lazy but has talent. I would prefer Caicedo for his pace but he hasnt been linked.

chaddyrovers Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 I think you can have him on loan, permanent, rent, time-share...he is available...full stop. Oh right. He's a good player. at least we are being linked with a better quality player than Beattie and Benjani. If the transfer or loan likely to happen quickly or slowly. Maybe happen before the weekend.
Majiball Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 A 20 goal a season player in the Prem should be worth around the £15-20m mark. We have £2m. Bloody hell, that means we paid 4million too much or niko. I think you can have him on loan, permanent, rent, time-share...he is available...full stop. hire, purchase?
Eddie Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 A better option. He has some talent, hasn't managed to produce yet in this league, but he could turn out to be a great signing. I'd much prefer that then to just go for some old hack who we know will only score a handful.
PAFELL Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Bucky etc - lay off Insiderover. The guy is a big Rovers fan who does have loads of contacts in the game. Just because he's not on here every 5 minutes bragging about bits of information doesn't mean you should have a pop. I was not having ago at Insiderover. He just threw a wobbly at my post. It was only a request to hear the news then and not later.
Hughesy Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Jo? I'd be happy with him, decent finishing ability too!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 I just remembered that Jo cost City £18 million and according to Wiki, he's only played 9 league games for the club. I was only moaning earlier today how I paid 71p for a Raisin and Biscuit Yorkie. That makes me feel a lot better!
Exiled_Rover Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 I can't imagine an £18m striker has manageable wages. If we're willing to pay them I'd think that's our transfer kitty gone. He played for Everton last year didn't he? Not sure how he did there.
brfc_jonesy Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Pleased with the Jo link. Would take him over Emile haha!
Glenn Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Nicko, I could do with getting hold of your privately, but I suspect the email we have for you is out of date. Either at the top right, click where it say Nicko, then My settings, then Change Email Address ..... or just email glenn@brfcs.com. Ta. PS. It's nothing bad (quite good in fact). Glenn (the lurking admin dude).
1864roverite Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 this is where City's big spending comes back to haunt them a little. They are going to have to take a hit both in fees being received and the wages scenario. The number of players who signed for the dream on £90k a week are going to have their faces pushed out. They went for the money so why should they suddenly give it up ? City are not only going to have to offer players a way out with lesser fees coming in, theya re also going to have to part fund their wages, both for sales and loan signings. The money they offered simply is unsustainable for all clubs outside of the top 5 and none of them are interested in City's cast offs so that leaves only the lesser lights of the league. Skills wise, benjani/beattie or jo ? Jo would appear to be the better option.

Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Nicko, have we moved on from Beattie, Benjani, Heskey and Jelavic now? All but Benjani seem to be out of our budget now. There is also talk down here on the sunny coast about Benjani having talks with Southampton. Also Vassell, another name linked with Rovers (and everyone else), is being offered a chance to join Saints. Maybe that suggests their level these days.

chaddyrovers Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Got it...Ta...Still taking time to digest... Is it a transfer target or link?
philipl Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 With Ireland, Bellamy, Santa Cruz, Robinho and Garido not getting squad places at City, Jo is not even on the top of the list to be got rid of. He was pants at City but began to do quite well on loan at Everton last season although never looked £18m worth. Certainly a player who kept opposing defenders busy and needed doubling up against when he got posession. That sort of threat which creates space for others is something we don't have at Rovers currently.
Bennisfromheaven Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Ah Lads, whats this site turned into? chinese whispers???????

BENJANI...think the word is out on his fitness. HESKEY...who knows...idea came and went...big wages. JELAVIC...sounds like his club or the player is pushing for a move...the Rangers link makes no sense...interesting. Right now there are so many possibilities, players leavinhg, funds being raised. So people can come into view and disappear and then come back again. It is all a bit fluid.
67splitscreen Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 If he can replicate even half his goal tally in Russia, I'd be well happy. 44 in 77. City didn't get value for money, that's for sure.
92er Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Wasn't it Jo that Moyes got annoyed with and wanted to send back?
roversam Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 sounds promising Nicko. Jo would at least have potential of being decent. City must be getting ready to offload plenty of players. Surely mid to lower table clubs will prosper if they stay in England as they will not want to loan to their rivals. Are any of our rivals close to deals? Blackpool must be getting desperate for players
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Wasn't it Jo that Moyes got annoyed with and wanted to send back? Jo Had To Go!

Jelavic is still possible i think, the rest aren't really targets now. Wonder if there is a possible of signing Jo on loan and Caicedo permantly from city. Depend on Jo wages but surely he would ratehr be playing than at City not playing and sit playing for for reserves.
