chaddyrovers Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Here the article about Jo http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Blackburn-transfer-news-Rovers-eye-cut-price-deal-for-Manchester-City-striker-Jo-article538351.html
sweet Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Considering wages could be a problem I am thinking maybe Jo from city. Who want's this week lotto numbers?
yankrover Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Jo sounds like he's a talented idiot needing to resurrect his career. Isn't that our specialty?
Blue n White Rover Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Just text an Everton fan to ask him about Jo. This is the reply I got: "He was utter utter s**t. Too lightweight and just not very good at all. Bet he was on £60k at City, we probably funded half of that. What a waste of money."
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Ha, my news is not transfer related. Im waiting to see the exciting news!!! Despite the odd silly billy, there are people interested in what you've got to say especially if it's positive news! Care to fill us in? Just text an Everton fan to ask him about Jo. This is the reply I got: "He was utter utter s**t. Too lightweight and just not very good at all. Bet he was on £60k at City, we probably funded half of that. What a waste of money." Can't have made that bad an impression if they got him back for a second season.
Backroom Tom Posted July 27, 2010 Backroom Posted July 27, 2010 At least we seem to be active and there's a chance something could happen soon, fingers crossed.

He has talent, maybe he needs a club like ours to settle? If he signs though the opening day will be interesting.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 On SSN just now: Tony Pulis is quite happy to let Beattie leave as long as a club makes a sensible bid.
den Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 He was pants at City but began to do quite well on loan at Everton last season although never looked £18m worth. I remember watching his first game in Europe for City and posting on here about how bad he was.

PAFELL Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Back to the barbie, pal. I presume bellamy and Ireland are on city's for sale list.
Blue n White Rover Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Can't have made that bad an impression if they got him back for a second season. This is what he had to say: "In fairness he surprised everyone in his first spell and did okay. But the second spell I don't think he scored and never ever looked like he would. Just offers no presence or threat. It's baffling what City saw in him."
67splitscreen Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 I'm sure it's not gone unnoticed that Real Sociedad want him. My link "Despite seeing him score in a pre-season friendly away to Portland Oregon last weekend, Manchester City are looking for another loan deal for the player in order to ease their high wage bills and the Basque club is keen to take the 23-year-old to Spain.
roversfan99 Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 He wouldnt have to move house if he came here which could help persuade him
Hi Mack Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 He wouldnt have to move house if he came here which could help persuade him Just me who thinks Jo is a Big No No! He would be hated by the fans, he makes Benni look hyper-actve! High wages, bad attitude, Lazy........Hasn't looked any better than average at City or Everton. He probably sounds good......only due to the other names being linked! Btw i dont have a solution, but then again im not getting paid to find one!
AggyBlue Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 I presume bellamy and Ireland are on city's for sale list. Those are the only City players up for grabs that I'd be interested in signing
braddock Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Those are the only City players up for grabs that I'd be interested in signing and we don't stand a chance with either
JAL Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 He probably sounds good......only due to the other names being linked! Btw i dont have a solution, but then again im not getting paid to find one! Agree with this, just dont know what to think now but hes young and has done it, so you have to ask whats prevented him from progressing on. If the manager sees some positives to work on, then yes, lets do it but he'll have to have done his homework on the lad.

Some players just manage to have a "good period" See Francis jeffers, Marcus Stewart, Alun Armstrong, Tony Yeboah( feel free to add more) etc etc! They do well early doors then all of a sudden they get figured out and their rapid! decline begins! Totally off topic but i saw Shaun Bartlett in the Trafford centre tonight....whats he up now-a-days?

Totally off topic but i saw Shaun Bartlett in the Trafford centre tonight....whats he up now-a-days? Tony Yeboah was banging in the goals for a period of at least 10 years. Hardly a "good period". Anyway...I would be reasonably pleased with Jo. He's arguably more talented than the others and is younger (23) which is a perfect age - he's old enough to do the business but young enough that if he comes good we could get some years of service and a transfer fee. Yes he had a poor season last season but prior to that scored 5 in 12 for Everton. IMO he's exactly the type of footballer we do well on, unlike the likes of Benjani and Beattie who are clearly past it. Sign him up, I can't see us doing much better with the money we have.
mattyc2422 Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Agreed. Jo is a risk but probably a risk worth taking given the circumstance we find ourselves in.
otto man Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I just remembered that Jo cost City £18 million and according to Wiki, he's only played 9 league games for the club. I was only moaning earlier today how I paid 71p for a Raisin and Biscuit Yorkie. That makes me feel a lot better! Tim. How many games has it played and how many goals?
