Doaksie Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 JO...the move will depend on whether it increases the value of the player in the eyes of the people who actually 'own' him...Man City will get rid of a lot of players by the end of the window because they simply won't play...I think BUYING him is the least likely option...a loan favourite... I think the highlighted section is probably the reason why this one has a little more chance than anything else we've been hearing in the last few weeks. I'd imagine his 'owners' will be offering him around frantically though, so we may have to wait in line like good little boys as everyone else rejects him first.

ada2020 Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Nicko,is the financial 'development'a potential loosening of the purse-strings?? Nope, it will be announced before the end of the week that the takeover saga has been completed.
Sandiway Blue Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Nope, it will be announced before the end of the week that the takeover saga has been completed. Is that fact or a guess?
RevidgeBlue Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Nope, it will be announced before the end of the week that the takeover saga has been completed. I'm pretty certain it won't. Back on topic, if Jo is only being looked at on loan it would be nice to think he would be brought in alongside a decent permanent acquisition giving us some genuine depth up front once again.
sparkspakespoke Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Nicko,is the financial 'development'a potential loosening of the purse-strings?? I reaaalllyy hope so. If they get any tighter they'll snap!
Kelbo Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I think the highlighted section is probably the reason why this one has a little more chance than anything else we've been hearing in the last few weeks. I'd imagine his 'owners' will be offering him around frantically though, so we may have to wait in line like good little boys as everyone else rejects him first. Not neccessarily, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spuds, ManU and even Villa cant offer him first team football, plus of course Man city, that really leaves only three clubs above us if he was to stay in the prem!! So we may be able to ressurect his career and as Nicko rightly says, increase his value!!

Back on topic, if Jo is only being looked at on loan it would be nice to think he would be brought in alongside a decent permanent acquisition giving us some genuine depth up front once again. Depends which way its gone. If the bid has failed then we could hear about it by the end of the week, doubt we'll be under new ownership by then though.
sambo Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Worried by the lack of activity, as we all are on here. One positive, is that we haven't lost a big name. Losing Samba or someone of that ilk would have been especially disappointing. Hope we pull a rabbit out of the hat, but we shouldn't expect this year after year.
chaddyrovers Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I still think we will sign Jelavic. Think Big Sam wants a target man.
bats Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 is anybody looking at taking grella? Galatasary trying to sign Grella at second attempt
LeChuck Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Jelavic, Faty and Benjani in. Grella and Roberts out. Cheers Sam. Edit: I'm amazed Franco's name hasn't come up. He looked very good as a lone striker in the World Cup, and showed he can handle the Premier League last year.
broadsword Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Nicko,is the financial 'development'a potential loosening of the purse-strings?? The Dow Jones is down slightly, and the pound has strengthened against the yen. Elsewhere, Prince Charles has been caught wearing Lady Di's clothes and talking to his rhubharb.
nicko Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Nicko what is your favourite pizza topping?? I like tuna and sweetcorn. Pepperoni.

the swede Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 He's 65. Don't you mean Blanco? Franco is 4 years younger
yankrover Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Could one of you over in England give Grella a lift to the airport? We should snap up Galas first offer, whatever it is. He's been nothing but a waste of money since we signed him.
FourLaneBlue Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Wonder if we have look at Mido. He is available on a free transfer. He's a good player, No he isn't. He's crap.
Backroom Tom Posted July 28, 2010 Backroom Posted July 28, 2010 £2m for Grella would be a dream come true. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed.
Wild Irish Rover Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 £2m for Grella would be a dream come true. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed. Shhh!! Them Gala boys can read t'internet too y'know Good lcuk in Turkey, Vince
Steve Moss Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Nicko what is your favourite pizza topping?? I like tuna and sweetcorn. Englishmen are obviously mad. Whoever heard of such a combination? Pepperoni, maybe with a bit of onion, is the way to go. Elsewhere, Prince Charles has been caught wearing Lady Di's clothes and talking to his rhubharb. See above comment. Mad, I tell you, mad!
Steve Moss Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Sam wants ManU's Wellbeck on loan. http://www.fansfc.com/BlackburnRovers/story/23105/4.html
dew22 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Jo was pretty poor tonight in Man City's tuneup against Club America. Played the entire second half. Scuffed a sitter, and whiffed on another attempt. Did have a nice setup to Adebayor, however, who placed it off the crossbar.

roversfan99 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Just think, a couple of seasons ago we were finishing in Europe whilst City were stuck in mid table, and now we are just hoping we can afford the players that dont get in their 25 man squad
