By the way, the Mark Hughes to Fulham thing may not be a done deal...he wants 48 hours...odd...

I'm sure he's just taking his time and doing his sums... perhaps even a little chat with City regarding the terms of his settlement?

Bellamy is a class player.

Hughes will go Fulham once he has "his" staff.

Annan is typical agent talk. He wants a move to the Premiership.

The Rovers / Indian thing took a step closer.

Josh Morris will be a top player. His left foot is awesome.

Put money on Phil Jones being an England captain.

Maybe he is having second thoughts about staying in London and family up here. Or family not happy etc.

I'd love to see Bellers back here but I can't see it happening.

What's the new info on the Indian bid?

If a good enough offer comes in then I think Sam has to say yes. I know it is a bit of gamble but with Jones and Hanley looking pretty solid I think it's one that Sam may need to make to strengthen the team, if he were to get all the cash to spend. With Nelsen and Givet as well we have a strong enough back line to not worry to much.

It's funny you say that about Samba, I had exactly the same thought when I heard on SSN this monring that Hughes was as good as a done deal!

Gary Cahill.

If Rodwell moves back to centre back, as most expect, then he'll be a fantastic defender.

There is a LONG way to go for Jones yet. If he turns into a regular player for us in the Premier League then he'll have done brilliantly, let alone play for England.

Nicko: Don't know if I missed something but is Ricardo Faty coming to Ewood? He's a really good midfelder but maybe very much like Nzonzi?

Wasn't Astrit Ajdarevic playing for us? He has scored 3 goals in two games against Elfsborg?

At least.....Zurab leaves for russia http://www.thedailyrover.com/archives/4386?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheDailyRover+%28The+Daily+Rover%29

Point raised by a previous poster (nicko?) about players not in 25 man squads having no value is spot on. Don't think most footy fans realise the importance of this development. We are talking about most clubs large financial assets not being valid to play for the season - therefore massively reducing their "book" value to the financial position of the club, yet still having the liability to pay their wages until atleast the next transfer window.

Watch out for the equivalent of the Next Xmas sale once the squads are announced - all the crap they cannot get rid off from the discount outlets brough back in and badged as a bargain...

Should be good fun to watch, as there maybe some decent players to pick up who actually want to play some footy this season and therefore are happy to take a pay cut.

Dont talk rubbish....he's technically got a long way to go before international football...6 decent games for rovers with no pressure..

I dunno about the no pressure. Didn't he play against both Chelsea and Manure when they were going for the title?

...because, what, it's supposed to be some kind of testament of your ability to get into the England team? Getting into the Rovers first team ahead of Samba or Nelsen would be a much bigger achievement than getting into a team consisting of laughable excuses for defenders such as Upson or Glenn Johnson. Heck, Nelsen did more at this World Cup than England's entire team combined.

Teymourian had ten games on loan at Barnsley last season too.

Neat player, honest lad...but this season's Basturk.

How can you say money is tight and then give him a contract?

Couldn't agree more.

The only way it makes much sense is if someone has been daft enough to come back in for Grella at 2m or so and the funds are being used to bolster the overall transfer kitty.

I'm not at all comfortable with the seeming trend of replacing permanent players with those on a short term contract or loan deal though.

Rodwell will play most of his career in central midfield - mark my words.

Either way I think he's going to be one of the best English players of the next generation.

I actually think he'll be more use to England as a defensive midfielder, since we have Cahill, Jones, Smalling, Richards etc. coming through in defence, but very few quality holding players.

On this point - when do teams have to name their squads by? Is it by the end of the transfer window or by the start of the season?

If it's the latter will we see teams gambling by naming less than 25 in their initial squads in the hope that they can pick up a bargain or 2?
