Plastic Head Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Didn't SA say somewhere that the club hoped to complete it's summer buying before the World Cup? 2014 perhaps? Have the owners knocked any purchases on the head until the possible sale of the club is clarified? Makes you wonder.

Hughesy Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Are we really going to talk about every half decent performer in the world cup & link them to our club!? Highly unlikely we will sign anyone from these teams, because if they perform then their value rockets!!
Amo Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Hughesy lecturing about redundant posts? Blow me down with a feather.
chaddyrovers Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Have the owners knocked any purchases on the head until the possible sale of the club is clarified? Makes you wonder. I think so. it would make sense aswell. no point us signing a free transfer then the owner give you 20 million pounds to spend on the squad to say. That allow you to look at better players. wait and see now!
Hughesy Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Hughesy lecturing about redundant posts? Blow me down with a feather. Topman quoting Hughesy to earn cheap reputation points.....AGAIN!
Amo Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Topman quoting Hughesy to earn cheap reputation points.....AGAIN! Then don't make it so easy.
Al Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Please don't quote Hughsey. I'm trying to keep him on 'ignore'.

ewoodpo Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 According to the Sun Stoke have told Rovers they won't let Beattie go on the cheap. They will use him as bait in a deal to get Carroll , hey fine by me , please feel free to do so.
Hughesy Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Mentions in today LT that Sam will continue his summer plans as normal, as a take-over is still a long way away - so for now, his striker search will continue with limited funds!

Veevs Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Grrr cant help but feel that missing out of lewandowski @4m Euros was a bad thing when we where so close to selling Grella.. would of so loved just him and possibly guti.. but hey ho.. What I dont get is if we only have 2.5m plus 2m for Grella.. how the heck can we afford Guti and a striker!!! I am guessing we will have to flog off someone else to be able to afford both. Really starting to hope this takeover goes through sooner rather than later.. at least they say they will bring in extra funds.

The club would not be drawing up an alternative list of transfer targets without some confidence that the take-over will go through .Lets hope we can afford more than a third of Fletcher when happens!
bluebruce Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 The club would not be drawing up an alternative list of transfer targets without some confidence that the take-over will go through .Lets hope we can afford more than a third of Fletcher when happens! The article said that our list of alternative targets is in case of a takeover or increased money from player sales (Grella etc), so I wouldn't read too much into it.
rebelmswar Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Mentions in today LT that Sam will continue his summer plans as normal, as a take-over is still a long way away - so for now, his striker search will continue with limited funds! Somehow Rovers can make plans of a takeover, and perhaps extra transfer money, depressing. Don't worry. Beattie isn't on the wishlist anymore. He lacks a certain "RAZAMATAZZZ!" With the, supposed, plans of the curry bar well in development, we may well have to fight him off with a pitchfork and a bottle of Xenadrine
Valois Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 West Ham linked with Riquelme, and says another English club is linked wth him. Can but that unknown club is Blackburn. Great player, and only 31, would probably demand less than Guti as well. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1286454/Juan-Roman-Riquelme-weighs-West-Ham.html
philipl Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 It seems the porn boys are determined to keep paying stupid wages so being up against them is bad news. That said, Riquelme going to any club in the PL is good news in my book. One good piece of news coming out of the Green howler is it could seriously mess with West Ham's plans to sell him to reduce their debt. Apart from Chelsea snagging Benayoun (that is a good move), the transfer market is deeply becalmed by the World Cup. Will probably begin to move when the first wave of countries go home, particularly if England is amongst them.

I feel that the market is stagnant because of the world cup also, but it is, as always, a wonderful shop window. I wouldnt mind Cherundolo if we still needed a right back. We do have a foot in the door with Buddle though, a foot that I wish we would pry the door open with. If he had started up front with Altidore, we may have been in much more trouble. That boy can find the goal at will it seems. His age should not be held against him, as he had major problems when he was young and has matured late (as most American players do.)
Billy Castell Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I wonder if that North Korean dubbed 'The Asian Wayne Rooney' is any good, and cheap? We'd have to buy another North Korean so he doesn't get ronerey, and pay in lumps of Uranium and bottles of Hennessey.
Guest Kamy100 Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Grella's move to galatasary is off, he couldn't agree terms with them.
Valois Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Grella's move to galatasary is off, he couldn't agree terms with them. This is not good at all. I know the deal had hit a snag, but last I had read Gala were trying to iron out the creases, and seal a deal over the next few days. Hopefully this can still be sorted out, if gala really want him, thye maybe willing to meet him halfway. Was really hoping we could have got rid of him by the end of the week, and start concentrating on bringing in Guti.

There will be more movement as and when teams are eliminated from the world cup. I'm sure the Australian camp wont be too keen on Vincenzo spending his time and effort on his proposed move to Galatasaray instead of trying to keep himself fit. The sooner the better for me though as i'm not sure how long he's going to stay fit for! let's get the deal wrapped up before Australia's next game! If we could get anywhere in the region of £2m for him that would be fantastic business.
Bobby G Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Damn it. 2 million which we will never see the sight of again.
imy9 Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Damn it. 2 million which we will never see the sight of again. Would we have seen it if he had been sold anyway?Better the devil you know, I am not bothered, just hope we get sold asap.
Majiball Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Grella's move to galatasary is off, he couldn't agree terms with them. How much are we paying him, Gala are hardly a poor club. Come on Genoa you know you want him he's great, honest.
