Kone was waiting for the Call and just like Raul, Guti and some others he just couldnt wait no longer for Mr Shah to make his mind up.......The club who he has signed for is a well know Stepping stone that bounces you to greater pastures........Maybe he will haunt us just like Valencia did........Regarding Joe, we need a goal scorer and he fits the bill on the pitch BUT only Williams knows if he fits the Bill Off It!..........

Antonio Valencia? I never knew we tried to sign him before Wigan did.

I'd be pleased with Jo. He had a great record in Russia, before losing his way at Man. City, but did well in his first season at Everton. Also, at 23, he's got plenty of potential and is the type of project Rovers are famous for.

I'm really warming to the idea of Jo. Yes fans of other clubs will slag him off but if you're never going to get an untarnished prospect for the money we've got. However this has so much more chance of coming off and also having some sort of resale value than buying Heskey.

Yes it could fail but he's clearly talented and something about our club really seems to make players like him reach their potential.

Don't Everton want him back?

He was kicked out of Everton for going to Brazil without authorisation. Plus they have about six strikers now anyway, and they play 4-5-1.

After getting all excited about Grella last time I refuse to do so again. I'd be just as happy with him leaving as I would be a good player coming in.

Fait accompli is a French phrase which means literally "an accomplished fact." It is commonly used to describe an action which is completed before those affected by it are in a position to query or reverse it. Perhaps the nearest English equivalent is a "done deal"

I presumed it meant mission accomplished

Fait accompli

Meaning

An accomplished fact; an action which is completed before those affected by it are in a position to query or reverse it.

Origin

The literal translation into English of this French phrase is a fact realized or accomplished - what might these days be called a done deal. Strangely, it entered the English language via a travelogue of Spain rather than France. Richard Ford's A hand-book for travellers in Spain, 1845, was and still is, regarded as a classic of travel writing. In it Ford included the phrase "This is now a fait accompli.", in regard of some previously decided fact.

In 1858, Sir William Stirling Maxwell wrote that "So great a literary achievement had never before been performed under so unpretending an appellation... it took its place among the best books of travel, humour, and history, social, literary, political, and artistic, in the English language".

LANCASHIRE MEANING: THE JOB'S A GOODEN MY LAD!

If we sell Grella for £2m anytime in August then il be delighted....Pointless player, waste of wages & wont be missed.

I for one will miss him.

He was one of the only players for us who went in hard and mean.

He could pick a pass too.

It's just a shame he became very injury prone.

This thread is bizarre. Where else do you get people asking what a French phrase means, one of the members telling of a trial he had in the 50s and a red-top tabloid journalist popping up with juicy rumours?

OK, we haven't actually got close to signing anyone yet but, still... :tu:

You see its no good being able to get stuck in & pass if you cant make it onto a pitch and stay fit for a decent run of games.....£2m  - SELL HIM!!! Do they not want Zurab too?!

Lancashire Telegraph still running with the story that Sam has told them that there is no renewed interest in Grella.

Actually is Nixon and Unleaded vs Cryer considering they think the same thing.

Tag team it is then

In all fairness I dont really know much about Jo or his playstyle, he could turn out to be a diamond in the rough or just plain rough but the news about Grella going is good enough for me.
