If Rovers had looked at that one and found out his wages I would actually pay to see John Williams's face when he discovered what the lad is on...scary.

Ouch - sad that clubs pay so much in wages to a player to sit on the bench - if he gets a seat. Clubs being allowed to do that ruins football. Buying a talented player, because they can, so that other clubs cannot have them, yet not play them.

Yes, i heard something was being planned for Wednesday too. I don't want to say what i heard as people will just shoot it down!

Yes, the team are back, they landed this morning.

Go on Vintage tell us what you have heard if people shoot you down then it turns out to be right you have the last laugh

i wouldnt be surprised come Tuesday, that there is no press conference. Come Wednesday, and again no press conference. We have had this before, where somebody comes and says a press conference is scheduled, and then nothing.

From the Daily Mail report:John Williams revealing an offer was on the table for an unidentified striker - whom some reports believe is Stoke's James Beattie.

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1299652/Blackburn-await-decision-unnamed-striker-coming-Ewood-Park.html?#ixzz0vSUHcU2x

That would be the ultimate kick in the knackers for the fans after a summer of intense frustration on the transfer front.

James Bond style secrecy, going back time after time with relentless dedication and improved offers until we finally land our man.

Only for it to be .............. bloody Beattie.

What could the incremental offers be for him be anyway? 100k, 200k,300k etc

Well hopefully with the 25 man squad rule it should sort this out, I would hope players would not want to sign for chelsea reserves no matter how much money they get offered if they get chance to play first team football for another club.

I see Mr Nixon gets a particularly large mention in today's Mediawatch on Football 365:

Mediawatch

I would have thought your mates would have known better.

Seem to recall them slagging off a Robbie Keane for Celtic story and Darren Ferguson to be sacked by Peterborough tale or that Spurs would finish ahead of Liverpool in the top four.

What happened there again?

Still no name on it. No idea if it's the Professional Scouser or Ugly Bird.

Still no original stories from them either.

I doubt very much the press conference has anything to do with a new player.

To get so far as to have agreed all the details and signed a player and have him in front of the press by Wednesday, Christ even Andy Cryer would know who it is.

Has to be the other topic of conversation.

Is there isn't there going to be a Press conference? This has me on the edge of my seat!

What does Andy Cryer reckon on Twitter?

BREAKING NEWS:

My sources indicate that there will be a Press Conference held at Ewood tomorrow.

At which it will be announced there is no Press Conference scheduled for Wednesday.

nicko is tevz likely to leave city or is it 'spurious nonsense'

Tevez wants out.

There is a deal teed up with Real. Bobby G knows a great deal on that topic ;)

He is already starting to make noises and did not show up for the last few days of the US tour as he was meant to - Roque managed it, didn't he and so did Joe Hart.

Man City know about it too and have been trying to sign a top-class striker for a month.

The whole transfer market could explode if some of the central players get their act together.

Not too mention my bloody fantasy team. :(

cheers Nicko

sounds interesting.

The market in general is slow surely things must pick up soon

It's like buying houses at the moment - chains forming everywhere.

For example...

Torres goes - Liverpool sign one or two replacements - Man City sell one or two [bellamy, Tevez] if they get him - Chelsea maybe sell one if they get him - Man U sell Berbatov if they get him to balance the books slightly.

Milner goes to Man City - Villa get a midfielder or two - and the club they buy from goes and spends the dough.

Spurs and Stoke are desperate to do deals but are hitting brick walls.
