Bobby G Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 He wouldve added something to our team for certain. Certainly no worse than anyone at the club. In fact, Id say he has certain assets which some of ours dont. Wouldnt have been much of a gamble either.

HemelRover Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 He has lived all his life in Japan so i think he would have a Japanese passport. I think the Japanese dont allow dual nationalities so for him to play for North Korea he wouldnt be able to hold a Japanese passport. Ive got a feeling that getting the work permit for him (back when he had the trial, pre world cup) would be a nightmare.
Majiball Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Hang on are people saying we should sign the "korean wayne rooney"???? has that been suggested on here before?
Hughesy Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Get an Indian owner, set up a link with Lancs cricket & the IPL, then set up a link with the Indian champs & then sign the Korean Rooney - problem solved & Ewood sold out twice over!

Its a nice idea. But being realistic if we want to see any news in this section, I may have to hit the Trafford centre with a bucket a la Stanley.

I am very happy to get behind the team and the players but I draw the line at JR to this very day I still get nightmares wondering how he missed that open goal from 2 yards against Sunderland. I have been discussing JR with a fellow fan he has an interesting theory and I have to say he could be right he thinks JR only scores when he mis hits a shot but when he catches a ball right he never scores!. Interesting theory.
John Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 How quiet it is, not even being linked to Benjani/Beattie at the moment. Eerie times (or more like we have no money!). Generally, probably have to wait until after the world cup for things to start moving.

Interesting theory. Might be an interesting theory but it's total rollox. v Everton at the end of the season?

Interesting theory. That goal against Everton came straight off the shin! When we have ever played Chelsea JR has caused John Terry all sorts of trouble, he has missed some easy chances but all forwards do. Get off his back, how much would it cost us to replace him? And who would we get Brfcrule1? Good forwards are hard to come across as we are fining out now. This Korean would be a good squad player at best.
Valois Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Linked with Maynard. Don't know too much about him, but would definitely be a gamble. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-West-Ham-Fulham-and-Blackburn-chase-Bristol-City-hot-shot-Nicky-Maynard-article470781.html
dillo_dillo Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 About Jong Tae-se oh... please read articles I posted on here. write again... He has North-Korea passport.(doesn't have South-Korea and Japan both passport) ..... His mother said "our situation is nearly refugees" At the end of January(He took trial on Rovers) I heard a transfer problem is "to get working permit". but that one will change after W-Cup. I wish He'll be a Rovers my beloved club.(and He is a star of my beloved local club Kawasaki Frontale.) I know it's unlikely happen.... ----today's morning news VfL Bochum will offer him soon.
Hughesy Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 LT says he is still on our radar & that he showed glipses of his ability when on trial, to which Rovers promised to monitor his progression - So you never know it could happen!
Billy Castell Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Not sure about Maynard. Especially for the £3-4m quoted.
dillo_dillo Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 I guess Tae-se's fee is not so high... 'cause, Kawasaki Frontale (Tae-se playing for) said "We're back up Tae-se's dream playing somewhere in European League." "We don't want to block his dream by our transfer fee."
Tim Southampton Rover Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 In your opinion do you think he's better than our current strikers and a lot of strikers in the Premier League or will he struggle in the Premier League?
Sparky Marky Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 he looks a decent player to me...might sell a few shirts too.
Backroom Tom Posted June 17, 2010 Backroom Posted June 17, 2010 Why would he sell shirts? This is North Korea we are talking about, the only way we would get any money is if we sign Kim Jong Il
bluebruce Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 I think I've found some good news for most people (including me): Rovers NOT targetting Beattie or Tuncay!!
Backroom Tom Posted June 17, 2010 Backroom Posted June 17, 2010 Would have loved Tuncay but out of our league cash wise
Mr. E Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Currently looking like we're not going to sign anyone known. Not a surprise really, but every transfer window starts with promises to the contrary.
Jackson Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Indeed. This transfer window is worse than listening to grass grow.
LeChuck Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Indeed. This transfer window is worse than listening to grass grow. Well, there is a football tournament on at the moment which is taking up the attention of most people in football.
bluebruce Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Currently looking like we're not going to sign anyone known. Could be a good thing, given our budget. Anybody "known" we sign for that isn't likely to be much good.
Backroom Tom Posted June 17, 2010 Backroom Posted June 17, 2010 Silly season suggestion - I'd like us to show some ambition and try for Govou, has expressed a desire to play out of france and isn't he a free agent? Could play wide on the right although we'd never get him or afford his wages I suppose
